lol. Fun with Wild fans the last 2 years too.

I think Tallon will have 2 more years before he's in trouble. He probably took less money to gaurantee a longer ride with Viner and Viner probably loves that he's comfortable making most of the significant decisions himself. I don't see Florida doing much this year. They're at 52 mil with a couple RFAs to sign.

haha, same poster that put the Tallon stuff up a few years ago. I wonder if it's the voices.

  3. If Kenny signed Jagr this is what I'd be doing *WALL*

  4. I dont think Tallon will have as long of a leash as you think. I give that abortion one more year

Bob, I still don't completely understand the Marc Savard cap hit. It counts against the cap at the start of the season but not at the end? And does insurance cover the actual money that Savard gets?

Essentially what are the cap implications?

  6. hell has frozen over!

  7. so when a team buys out a player say they make 6 per does that mean they now have that 6 to spend under the cap?

  8. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

From the world of bad ideas:

Somebody is going to pay for Clutterbuck. I do love that last name.

  9. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

You might be right, why do you say that though?

  10. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Since they haven't released the full CBA, I may not know a damn thing.

I'm assuming that they have a 10% allowance over the cap during the summer as they did during the last CBA. On Sept 15 or October 10th (however they decide is the 1st day of the next season) the 10% overage allowance disappears and teams must comply with the cap. On that day, teams are allowed to put players back on LTIR or IR. Chiarelli is fine, it kills Holmgren since he can't spend Pronger's cap hit during the summer. If he could, he would have had a few more serious attempts at UFAs that went elsewhere, he may have even been able to keep Carle when he swung and missed on Weber.

For one of the 2 amnesty buyouts, YES. The cap hit disappears, like a fart in the wind I'm told.

For regular buyouts, there is a cap hit based on the amount left on the contract that was bought out. Capgeek has "buyout calculator". Surprised you didn't use that for White right after he signed.

  12. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Olympic deal may actually be wrapped up next week.

That means I'll get my CBA a few days later.

Hockey Canada has Hitchcock, Babcock, Julien, and Ruff. Quenneville is a dual citizen, wonder when he's going to be considered.

  15. i better get to typing

  16. so you get 2 amnesty buyouts per year and a regular buyout? so each team can use up to 3 buyouts?

as far as White goes I refuse to acknowledge that he played for the Wings - key word here played is in the past tense.

  17. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

2 amnesty buyouts since the CBA was signed to be used through the buyout period before 2013, after 2013, and after 2014.

2 amnesty buyouts TOTAL per franchise. Regular buyouts are unlimited and still carry a cap hit.

  18. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

The LeCavalier buyout has put the gms into a frenzy and lots of decks being shuffled now. Lots of trades about to be closed were put on the back burner until they get an idea of how some of this ripples through the league.

Teams best positioned to take advantage of the storm are the ones that don't care about it.

Lennie is/are having seizures this morning...It's awsum.

  19. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

McKenzie and Dreger have deployed all their cockroaches to listen to phone calls:

    Wait, Horton might be available.

Dreger and McKenzie saying Seguin is being discussed as a trade option. Opportunity for Boston. Another disappointing year and Seguin's value plummets in trade. Bruins close to an 8 year deal with Bergeron...8 years? Better be a freindly cap hit. Talks with Joanie this weekend.

    J.T. Miller being shopped
LeCavalier not on Chicago's radar. Bickell and Chicago still talking today.

    Schneider in play

Holmgren is all over the place throwing out names of everybody except a couple studs.

So much noise, so much bullShiitee, I love it.

Poor Jay-Z, his guy isn't looking like he'll be the number 1.
