The Ditch part deux

Discussion in 'NHL General Discussion Board' started by cutter9394, Apr 21, 2013.

  1. Boston wins tonight in emphatic fashion 4-0. Toews and co are no shows while the alien stands on his head and pitches a shutout. thats how I have it.....take that with a grain of salt

From the 'news you cant probably use' file:

Tortorella to be named coach in Vancouver Tuesday...and coach Claude Noel of the Jets gets a 1 year extension.

The JLA needs to go away, the franchise deserves bigger and better.

Ice is crap in Boston again. This is an advantage to the Bruins...unless Bruins dmen try to be cute with the puck and with their feet. Expect some "great offensive plays" that are nothing other than terrible defensive mishaps because of bad ice in both zones.

The nice thing about the bad ice is that Hawks fans can lean on it as an excuse if Boston wins.

The ice will be no more or a detriment to the Hawks than some of the goofy bounces off of the boards in the UC are for the Bruins. Part of the home ice advantage.

....and in STL, Armstrong continues to roll the dice playing hardball.

Lots of big RFAs to sign. Lots of budget questions lingering. STL is going to be weaker somewhere by the time this shakes out. The 2nd line already took a hit with Andy Mc leaving.

Even after the ink dries with this mess, he'll have to start worrying about Bouwmeester, the goalie situation, Steen, and Schwartz. I'll be able to watch the Wolves to keep up with their prospects. STL is going to be fun.

Pittsburgh and ANA swapped some lower talent with Harry Z and prospect Alex Grant. Shero looks like he wants bargain basement priced help for his depth. He's sweating this summer like so many gms.

This weekend is going to be entertaining with transactions I think.

Bruins are going to come out strong, the Hawks have got to come out the same way they did the last couple games until things settle out.

According to lesser known hockey pundits, the cup is in Boston and the engraver has arrived. Rene is ready for his fist pumping. Hopefully something stoopid doesn't happen in the 1st. Good luck hockey fans.

I'm curious - what's the engraving process? I mean, when do they start and all that?

Normally a player has to play 41 regular season games or 1 Stanley Cup Final game to get his name on the cup. It will probably be reduced to 24 regular season games due to the lock-out.

It was very humid today, still is. Ice will be total garbage. Hope whoever wins it tonight earns it.

Home ice is home ice. You expect it, and it's within the rules.
That said, if we can keep our ice in decent shape down here in FL, why can't they in Boston? Do their buildings work differently, up there? Let's not pretend - fuck humidity, it's home ice. And that's okay.
