ya man that was bad. That glass landed on his head and he wasn't the same after that.

Good thing that lady is the only one wailing on the glass. Everyone else seems to be firmly seated. Maybe tennis is your thing?

but heres the real question- why does anyone feel the need to bang the glass?

  4. wow, matty - u drive a hard bargain. remind me to not play poker with u.

as for that spleen thing - FFS, it's playoff time! wrap some duct tape around it and man up, Princess Bergy!!!

and lol bob - not sure if u read my comment while lurking, or u just know me well. either way, yes, i DID notice the glass pounding O:)

  5. Matty, jagr has to be taking a ton of heat in beantown. no goals in 21 games - no excuse for that. bench that anchor

To be loud and have some fun. Why does anyone feel the need to chant "Go whoever"? Why do people do the wave? Why does anyone buy a foam finger? It's hockey. Get over yourself.

Some glass pounding is fine, like at the end of a game, or maybe even a fight (when it's right in front of them). When they do it like some Dallas fans are known to, it's just stupid. When one sits by glass pounders for games, I would happily trade them in for the group that goes to the bathroom every 3 minutes while play is going on.

Sitting near the whistlers, that's even worse because they're not even watching the game. It's been a few years since I've been within a few yards of them at the UC. I hope they take up a new hobby, like streaking the 200 level or something.

Yelling, screaming, bitching and moaning, cheering and just about everything else falls under the "good" category.

i'll work on it, thanks for the insight.

    SHOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. hey Dline are you the fat guy standing next to the fat girl?

  11. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

So it doesn't matter if they're loud, it just matters how they're loud. Again, I don't get it, and I think it falls within the category of "hockey".

  12. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

youde think so right? not really though and its unfortunate. 'anchor' is spot on cutter.

  13. for the record, bob, i've always prefered moaners to screamers.

  14. thats strange Matty, almost like hes getting free pass - maybe its his exemplory leadership skills that keep him in good graces ;)

I think dlinebass has pounded some glass in his day :p....or hasnt been next to them at a game.

ya cutter, its a mystery to me. i think its pretty obvious how slow, lazy, and unwilling he is to buy in to the system. i wouldn't want him back next year even for the veteran minimum.

played in a golf tourney last Friday w/ Hal Gill. Little known secret here- he's huge and his head is even proportionately bigger than his body. So after many beers I thought it would be a good idea to bring up his fight w/ Chara for some reason. He was pretty good about it and said that Chara throws anvils and he realized it was a huge mistake before they even squared off. Then he asked me if I wanted to talk about any fights where I got my ass kicked. Had to laugh and told him it would take too long.

  20. dline, it's not the glass pounding in and of itself that's annoying - it's the constant glass pounding. like so many other things, it becomes sucky when done excessively.

and i think it's ironic that u use the phrase "get over yourself", when it seems to me that's exactly what the people who pound the glass all game long need to do.
