  1. by the way who are the potential owners - and please tell me JR isnt involved

tv contract: when you say "MSG", people think NY, not NJ. you also think Madison Sq Garden, not the Rock. NY hogs a shit-tonne of loyalty. news flash: Newark is a cess-pool, and a complete ghetto at that. most people in that area can't even spell NHL. having your arena IN THE GHETTO and being the #3 hockey team in the immediate area does not bode well for a strong financial standing. if they win, its obviously much better. BUT last year the Devils went to the finals and they still suck financially. so, in conclusion, it's bleak.

  3. I know the arena is in a bad spot but if its moved doesnt that change the landscape for the team entirely(no pun intended). lets not forget JLA isnt exactly in Malibu, so maybe the fans wont come regardless. I just think theres a lot of untapped potential there if the right owner is in place

yeah, but Detroit has something (hockey-wise) that Newark doesn't... a loooooooooooong history of hockey and winning. NJ has won here and there, but it's not comparable. people in the Detroit area actually KNOW what hockey is. tradition (being an Original 6) definitely helps... and so does being slightly north of Canada.

Jamal Mayers practicing on the 2nd line with Sharp. I think that means, or I should say that I pray that it means that Hossa is playing. Mayers had an awesome career as a 4th liner, but it ended last year.

  6. I think I told you I went to Western when he was there. partied with him on more than one ocassion, hes a really cool guy. Im glad hes had a long career, I really thought hed have been more of a scorer and always wanted him in Red and White at some point but just never happened. If the Hawks win Ill be happy to see him hoist the Cup

  7. ocassion - whats a matter w me today! anymore of those and Im getting fitted for a Tikkanen style Jofa helmet

  8. with foil inserts of course *THUMBSUP*

heheeeheehe. great way to describe anybody.

Ive officially given out my first thumbs down.

  11. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Why thumbs down? I thought Mayers was a very good 4th line player for almost his entire career, not too good in other roles.

Or was the thumbs down because Hossa is probably playing?

Can't imagine he'll be all that effective if he does play since he wasn't on the ice this morning. Since Chicago can't win a faceoff for whatever reason, he may be on the fourth line just to take draws. There is nothing encouraging for Blackhawks fans coming from the morning skate.

On a darker note, Barry Smith came down to the ice. Last time he did that it created a giant poop storm between the front office and the coaches. Then again, it's not like Smith can hurt the pp.

  12. that's an ABSOLUTE FACT.

  13. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

    yup.

and i still think he'll be effective one way or another. i prefer him in street clothes when it comes to playing Boston.

    BOOYA

  15. ....and tomorrow we work with clay

  16. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I hope I don't share your preference at the end of the night. He and Sharp together, not something we're too used to lately.

Bruins with a pretty good edge in play since the 2nd period of game 2. Boston's big players are showing up, Chicago's better or else this thing is all but over.

Kane and Toews both tend to play better with each other, but Toews is so bad right now, I'm not sure it's a good thing loading up the line with both of them. Kane isn't exactly great at helping a center win a faceoff. Chicago can't lose 94% of the faceoffs again...right?

Is Hernandez going to get in trouble?

I think he's going to make a stop at a local housing facility before he's ditch-eligible.

"innocent until proven guilty"...bullsh@@, that's only for the courts. The court of ditch-opinion cares of no such rules. I declare him guilty of being stupid and already pronounced him guilty of shooting somebody in the face. (hope round two of the lawsuit goes better).

I hate when the media says "innocent of until proven guilty" while omitting the "in a court of law" part. Those laws are there because the court of public opinion will condemn and should condemn if they want to. People running their mouths aren't lynch mobs. If people want to sound off and risk making an ass of themselves, let them. Enough with the fake temperance about opinions.

    For example:
When Carlton Fisk literally wakes up in a ditch (inside his car) and is found with a handle of brown liquor, I think it's safe to judge.

judge says he was definitely in the ditch, thank God he chose Will's frontyard instead of mine. Im still working on getting Halos truck outta mine. its spilling diesel all over the place. someone already threw eggs at the Pens sticker on the side. I tried to start it my self to get it out but when I climbed in there was this pungent locker room odor. the truck was leaking fuel so I used the Crosby jersey that was laying on the front seat to soak it up. hey on the bright side I have a new Lynyrd Skynyrd cd

lol, judge cutter has issued his verdict.

He needs more Pens gear now.
