  1. Hossa likely in for Game 4 - bad news for B's

I love me some Hossa but its only fair to second guess him here. Its the Cup, how can you miss a game and be ready 48 hrs later? And its not like the Hawks were prepared for this, Ben Smith didn't even warm up before game 3.

i'm hearing strong rumblings from Philly... Briere and Bryzzy are gonna be write-offs. is it the "voices"? who knows? but the rumblings are VERY strong. by the way, does anyone need a goat pelt?

Thanks to the Cracker-Jack hockey media in Chicago, nobody has a clue about what happened. Amonte talking out of his arse is the closest thing they have to a lead on what happened. Q walking out of this without a scratch, he should get roasted claiming that he deliberately kept Smith out of warmups. Lots of people saying Hossa is soft, those people are stupid. The guy likes to win, he wouldn't have missed the game if there wasn't a problem he would not have been able to skate through. Not sure how healthy he is. The Hawks weren't ready. It was evident because of the line shuffling throughout the first.

I'm really sick of Hawks and Toews fans desperately searching for an excuse for Toews. He's been up against Koive/Suter, Zetterberg, Richards + top pair, and Bergeron/Chara. He's not right somewhere, maybe the hand, maybe between the ears, but the other team has to get credit for shutting him down too. I think Koivu never gets enough credit because of a bad team and his injury history, but I think he's an extremely effective 2-way center.

He appreciated the need. He was good with hats too.

you're so right bob. some of the B's bandwagoneers are already talking about a parade and how the Hawks are defeated. These are the same people that prefer the NBA over NHL so it doesn't much bother me. On the other hand spitting in the face of the hockey gods is never a good idea.

Fair to say that the Hawks have had a much harder path than the Bruins to get to the Final. Watching Toews holding his wrist and grimacing has to mean something. Would assume that the Bruins are working that wrist over every opportunity they get.

    Smokescreen or legit?

I guess there will be a shift in NJ ownership pretty soon. I've been waiting for it for more than 2 years, not sure how that greased pig Vanderbeek has been able to hold off lenders after missing payment after payment for years. I kicked him out of Zug because he was using his ditch to bury money to keep it hidden.

Anyway, it makes sense why Lou hasn't done any big extensions lately. Still scratching my head why this hasn't happened yet. PHX has been stealing all the headlines for this ownership mess.

  11. I wondered the same thing, how did he get away with that was the league giving him money or something? this can only be good for the Devils and their fans. had this happened a couple years ago Parise might still be there

  12. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

He financed the arena and couldn't sell the seats. He missed payments and deadlines for a long time now. Lenders were in a position to sweep in for years now. He kept shuffling money around and changing the agreements with the lenders, it seems they weren't anxious to take the franchise from him like they did with Hicks, although the Hicks situation was much worse.

Anyway, I call him a greased pig because he never should have been able to do what he's done in terms of spending because of the financial situation in my opinion.

  13. cant the league step in for situations like this. I mean if we know hes having money problems you know the league does. I cant stand these owners that do all this shady stuff, borrow here borrow there all while the fans and teams suffer

  14. Hicks was a good example but his circumstances like you said were much more dire

  15. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Gary says he won't but if the Lenders are going to kick Vanderbeek to the curb (as they should) , I would expect the league to intervene.

  16. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Gary doesn't want to lose a spot in that tv market, if a new owner comes in, relocation becomes a concern and the BOG doesn't want that. That's why I think the league is ready to jump in at the first sign of something turning ugly at the top in NJ.

  17. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    amen.

How about signing the Kovy deal when he knew how bad the franchise's financial situation was?

  18. yep and even how he went about that was shady. that is potentially a huge market if the team is marketed the right way. theres money to be had there and although the fanbase seems to not be the best that may have as much to do with the arena, the location of the arena, how the team is run and of course the marketing. I was always baffled at how a tema like that doesnt have money to burn in such a densely populated area and the taxbase they have. is their TV contract really bad? I dont get it. thats one team I dont want to see moved

  19. everyone has a favorite tema - fat fingers *PARDON*
