I really didn't understand the problem some wings fans had with the officiating on the Abdelkader call. The ref on top of the play focused on the potentially injured player as they are supposed to and the ref across the ice came in with his arm in the air. They conferred, called the correct penalty and made sure they were using their discretion correctly as a committee. Dig or hate Shanny all you want, but I thought the officiating crew did their part exactly how they should of. The priority was the injured player and making sure they weren't handing out a major and game without overlooking something. I've never had a problem with the refs talking it over when a potential game changing call is going to be made that isn't an automatic penalty.

I hate the term "butt-hurt", it's sooooo 2007 (I've read). Seen it alot in the discussions about the Calder candidates. The whole state of Minnesota seems to be upset that Brodin isn't a finalist.
