Interesting stat/story on NHL.com that the Blackhawks out hit Boston in game 1 and won the game. Game 2 Bruins out hit Chicago and won. Dont know if there's anything to that or not. Probably cant put a whole lot of stock into it, I guess. Just interesting to see how game 3 unfolds.

As far as somebody imploding and there's a blow-out game...I dont see that happening myself. I'll take another thriller that might go for the third straight OT. Been very impressed with the goaltending so far this series. IF, there were to be an implosion, it wouldnt be the end of the world for one team...these two teams are just too good imo.

 

Out-Hitting = WIN... according to the Dan Bylsma Theory.

 

dunno if u know this, but during the regular season, the blackhawks were dead last in hits - even the thugwings outhit them.

My dislike of Bylsma makes me want to hit anyone sporting some feminine eye-wear with a haircut that shouts "ARE YOU LOOKING AT MY HAIRLINE?! STOP LOOKING AT MY HAIRLINE!!! ITS NOT RECEDING DAMN IT?!!".

I've consulted the voices, it's the only thing we agree on, Bollig has to go away in the postseason.

Rocky Wirtz has not run the business to control costs at the expense of hockey operations. They probably have to be among the most expensive front offices in the league in terms of personnel, number of personnel, and overall resources available. I don't think Stalberg's benching has anything to do with anything other than how Q views his play or what his game does or doesn't do for the team.

I agree, I don't think Seguin on the 3rd line is a winner either.

 

Hit scoring at the UC is absolutely ridiculous for any team involved.

Chicago was outhit because they had the puck so much the first 35 minutes too. Anytime there is contact and the puck does not settle on the same teams stick (even if they win the loose puck again) it will almost always be credited as a hit in Chicago. Their road vs. home hit totals are the most telling.

I hate that stupid stat. I'm starting to like +/- better because I think it's easier to see the b.s. in it than hits.

 

In every advanced stat that measures shots, quality, and puck possession, Hawks were top 3 in the league if not first.

Davis Payne for head coach. He will show you what it means to hit. Bylsma is B-team crap.

Stalberg will probably do bad things to goats, but he's so much better than Bollig. Why does it take a win to bench a better player Q?

bob, the motorhead pic is a perfect example of why these pics are often lost on me. if it weren't for the tshirts, i'd have no idea who they were - i figured band, but without the shirts i'd have no idea which one. as for the photoshopped guy, i have no idea who it is *SCRATCH*

 

i hope u didn't interpret anything in my comment as an endorsement of the stat. just wanted to point out the complete lack of correlation between hits and wins..
