That's going to need a chinstrap I think.

Nice touch on the center piece.

I'm very inspired now, but the mrs. nags for me to be useful. I must comply or go into hiding.

  3. Worst contract should be called THE REDDEN.

  7. the Salchow is an underappreciated edge jump. not as sexy as the Axel, but still deserving more attention than it gets. i'd like to thank will, as well as the [del]Olympic Diving Team[/del] Chicago Blackhawks for helping to put this worthy jump back in the limelight where it belongs.

    Fresh off the wires:
Thats good news for the Bruins and their fans. I like a Finals when both teams have all their key players in the lineup.

I figured out a real important change (all by meself) for the PP units tonight.....Shoot the freaking puck for once.

  9. Andrew Shaw is a punk. He's probably my least favorite player on that team (not that I particularly like any of them).

  11. That's hilarious, Will. It looks like the Canucks and Rangers may swap underachieving head coaches this summer.

Shaw is dirty, but I think he's more of a spazz than a diver. He's on the ice all the time. I wouldn't be shocked if he was diving or just jerked back and lost leverage. He took the torch from Bolland. He's accused of embellishing, but that's more Bolland than Shaw. Shaw may embellish, but if you watch him enough, you'll see him jerk around constantly and knock himself over.

Bolland is my pick to dive tonight.

  14. the players win games not coaches. yes they can help but the Scotty Bowmans and thinking the coach makes that much of a difference your kidding yourselves. its a players world and they do what they want. it'll get to the point(and I already think were there) that the players have more say than the coaches and they know it. its a sad state for the game but its the truth more times than not. hate to make this comparison but in the NBA coaches are figureheads - very very few actually make a difference. Scotty was one of the last. really wish we still had him in some capacity, hes the best and he commanded respect and deservedly so

AV is probably a good fit for the Rags. I hate saying that, but he is the anti-torts if there was one out there.

  16. perfect example, how many times will Ovie have a new coach. hes a great player but maybe hes the problem

  17. I would agree with that if it weren't for guys like Dave Tippett. He took a very average Coyotes team to the playoffs three straight years and the WCF's last year. And then you have guys like Bruce Boudreau and Michel Therrien who took 13th and 15th place teams to 2nd seeds in their respective conferences in their first year with the team. That isn't a coincidence considering there wasn't a whole lot of turnover with either team.

Ovechkin is an exception. He's a selfish player in the playoffs and hurts his team more than helps it. He's the kind of guy who doesn't listen to coaching. Boudreau wasn't the problem in Washington. Ovechkin just didn't grown up when he was there.

I agree that the players have more of a say than the coaches, but a lot of it has to do with buying into their coach's system. A good coach who demands and receives respect from his players can make a world of difference to his team.

i'm seeing a lot of Blackhawk nominees but i'm gonna go out on a limb and put some REAL cashola on a Boston Bruin for Best Dive 2013. those guys could give the Chinese Olympics team a serious run for their money...
