The coaches.

I said yesterday when this news came out the Leafs heard Julian was going to be fired and fired Carylye to make room for Claude. If the Bruins were smart and were going to fire Claude anyway I'd ask The Leafs for a trade. a 1st or 2nd for Claude.

 

so you think that the Bruins should fire Cload? history be damned and not taking active roster in to account I'm assuming.

and trading an NHL coach mid season for draft picks? thats not even video game worthy of discussion.

 

Matty coaches lose teams all the time. It's been 4 years since the Bruins won the cup, 2011 and they are struggling to make the playoffs this year. When you look at their cap numbers they are close to being capped space out so there isn't much room to improve without trading a "Star" who has a no trade clause and will not go to the likes of say a Carolina or Edmonton . That being said it is easier to get rid of a coach than it is the whole team.

I'm not saying Claude is not a good coach, on the contrary I think he is an great coach, but those coaches get fired too. So if Boston needs a shakeup then a coaching change is the way to go. and If you are going to make a change why not make a feeler with the Leafs ask for a trade and not have to finish paying that contract he signed just last season. And if you can find a dance partner then I'd say go for it.

 

true, its been 4 years since they won the Cup, 1.5 years since they've lost the Cup, and half a season since they dominated the regular season before bowing out in the 2nd round. they've had quite a bit of success of late lets not pretend that the 2011 was an aberration. giving a team/coach 1/2 of an injury plagued season before pulling the plug would be a huge mistake.

im not saying it can't happen just that it shouldn't. let see where this team finishes at the end of the year. health and a playoff spot are all that a team constructed like this needs. as bad as they've been, horribly bad especially in that 1st period against Carolina, they aren't far off from hosting a playoff matchup. Krejci and Chara are back, hopefully this team can find its identity.

 

Even is Chuck (broonz' leader) is a whach job, I don't think he'll can Julien until another high quality replacement is availble no matter how much they struggle.

Matty, I'm not saying that Julian deserves to be fired, however, Here is a team that was expected to battle for the Presidents Trophy not fighting for a playoff spot. Do I think it should happen? No, Is it possible that it will happen? Yes. Why because some fans are starting to complain and so much money is on the line.

 

Ive read comments from you for a week now, on multiple sites, bringing up the firing of Julian (sp) mikey. this just happens to be the first time I've responded.

 

Matty, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they fired him. Not because I think he deserves it, But because I'm not a big Boston fan and I think it would hurt the Bruins more than help them if they did. so there will be no offense if you blast me.


Besides I like to think of the what ifs.

 

the least u can do is start calling him Chode, mikey. it's a combination of Chins and Clode. i tried to sell matty on this, but, oddly enough, he wasn't buying. call him Chode, and i'm good with anything u have to say on the topic

Chode is the preferred nomenclature among eastern conference fans as of today. I think most should call clode, chode.

A real shame if Yeo takes the fall now, last year was the first year he didn't deserve to get canned. Fletcher stuck him with a pile of crap in net, I thought Keumper was going to be somewhat steady. I should have known after the contract drama. He might get shipped and Yeo might be gone.

I love fires in January, love them. Big ones burning bright in Minny, Toronto, and Boston today. Things still smoldering in plenty of other cities too.

I like this year...except for Nashville, they're pissing me off.

 

i was thinking about the preds last night, bob. haven't seen them play this season except for maybe a few minutes, but it's no secret one stat i DO believe in is goal differential - and theirs tells me they must be for real.
