That is the most Velus Jones Velus Jones i've ever seen from Velus Jones. Don't cry bad luck. He's on the team which makes it your fault.
You watched the guy literally fumble everything for two seasons And then said yeah fuck it give him a roster spot oh and deactivate Roschon and give Velus his carries
Poles gets way too much praise it makes me sick. This guy has VJJ still on the roster costing us games and doesn't give a shit about center.
I don’t even blame the bears anymore I blame myself for continuing to think anything is gonna change with this franchise
This team is still the one that Poles built, despite all the window dressing. Getting dominated in the trenches on both sides, Velus Jones playing a prominent role in the game in a disastrous way, and Caleb Williams having none of the support he actually needs to succeed in the way of coaching, etc. He's out there trying to do college heroics because he has no OL, and is realizing (hopefully) that it doesn't work against actual NFL defenses. Here we are. We all knew what to expect. We were excited because it's Caleb Williams' first game. Let's just temper those expectations. Maybe they do something in a big way and win this game, but this is as bad a start as you could ask for, and exactly what we'd all have expected when looking at this team on paper before the preseason started. Still sitting here eating wings, hoping they turn it around.
I can already hear the pundits this week, "That sack is okay because you don't want to coach the heroics out of Caleb". Yeah, you do. It's great that he has that capability, but that should be something that he does as part of a structured offense. It should not be, "Panic and let the play fall apart immediately, then hope you can make something happen". And good coaching will get us there. Alas...
The offense looks like shit and the only hope is some pick sixes by the defense stop me if you’ve seen this movie before
