Really good take. Very hard to put your finger on anything big the 9ers did wrong. Purdy played a good game, in fact there were good performances all over the field(tho Trent Williams didnt have his best game imo). As well as the punt return mistake, i would point to the blocked XP as well. That ball came out on a low trajectory, if it was a golf shot you'd say you thinned it slightly. So that was a mistake that looms large in a 3point game where FG's are being settled for.

Also, given Spagnolo's reputation i did expect Kyle to come into this game with a much wider array of blitz beaters, which maybe i missed them but there didnt seem to be many there. Spagnolo did do an incredible job of varying the down and distances he called blitz on, very hard for Shanny to get ahead of that in the huddle. Were there options for Purdy to get into blitz beaters at the LOS? Probably. Did he miss opportunities? I have no idea. There were times the 9ers could've killed the Chiefs with a well timed screen, but those opportunities came and went.

Ultimately tho these aren't huge things im talking about. The 9ers came incredibly close to winning that game, the Chiefs just, just had the answers. Kicker makes a 57yard FG. Mahomes engages God Mode.

If you're thinking what do you do about the Chiefs going forward its hard not to finish with a shake of the head.

Have to agree with you guys, it was so nice to get thru a game, particularly one that big without the officials fucking it up. There were little things, there will always be little things, but overall a very good job.

Just a game too early with that call weren't you jeanquev :D

It was about the fact Travis Kelce is a giant douchebag whenever you get him on/next to a football field. Outrageous behaviour, not helped at all by the victim doing classic victim things and trying to play it down. In pragmatic terms, i guess you can't bench Kelce in a game of that magnitude, but a benching is exactly what deserved to happen. Not like its the first time Kelce has behaved like a whiny bitch with his coach/teammates. Hell its not even the first time this year!!

Not a damn part of any of that has anything to do with Kelce. If thats what it was even about which i doubt it was. On the deep pass to Hardman the play before, Kelce was wide open and didn't get the ball. He also had like 1 catch for 1 yard up to that point. Far more likely his childish antics were due to not being targeted enough.

Travis Kelce: My actions toward Andy Reid were “unacceptable”

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce admits he crossed the line when he bumped head coach Andy Reid on the sideline during Super Bowl LVIII.

Kelce called his own actions “definitely unacceptable” on his New Heights Podcast, according to CNN.

“I can’t get that fired up to the point where bumping Coach and it’s getting him off balance and stuff. When he stumbled, I was like: ‘Aw, shit’ in my head,” Kelce said.

Kelce was upset that Reid had taken him out of the game when the Chiefs were near the goal line, and the Chiefs lost a fumble on the play when Kelce was off the field. Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon pulled Kelce away from Reid after a brief sideline confrontation that saw Kelce both make contact with Reid and scream in his face.

Kelce said that if Reid had gone back at him, that would have been fair.

“I deserve it. If he would have cold cocked me in the face right there, I would have just ate it. I would have been like: ‘Let’s fucking go,’” Kelce said.

Instead, Reid brushed it off and said after the game that he loves Kelce’s passion. Winning the Super Bowl makes it easy to overlook everything that went wrong during the game.

My take on Kelce is, FWIW... He's emotional and spirited, wears his emotions on his sleeve, but he can be wreckless with it at times... I dont mind because he can back it up on the field. Players like Stefon Diggs is the exact opposite.
