Great game by the Eagles. They showed the rest of the league what you have to do to beat Brady. Mistake free on offense, pedal to the metal, take BALLSY chances and then execute. The difference in the game was not only the pass to Foles but the huge 4th down they converted in the 4th quarter while still trailing in their own territory. Well done! Gotta feel great to not only win the Super Bowl but beating the GOAT in the process even when he throws for 500+ yards.
We showed how to beat Brady??? Must be the Peyton Manning style. Get in a shootout and outlast him. Eagles had the worst coverage ever. Won despite that thanks to Foles and the front 4 finally getting a chance when the coverage showed up late.
All respect to Doug Peterson. Pull out all the tricks, take chances and trust your players to execute. Not enough teams play/coach with that level of confidence against the Patriots. The Eagles showed one way to beat them.
You know what doesn’t make much sense? Atlanta got blasted for staying aggressive and not running the ball and getting conversative and Philly is credited for it. People basically judge solely off wins and losses lol.
The issue with Atlanta for me wasn't staying aggressive. It was when to be aggressive and their play selection.
After the Julio catch sure, they almost coulda just kneeled it really. But I don’t fault them for going down guns slinging. Sometimes you just don’t execute.
There was a big difference. The Falcons lead was so big that the clock could have been milked. The Eagles didn't have that cushion. Eagles had to stay vigilant. The Falcons got plain careless. The Pats couldn't come back if they went conservative. There just wouldn't have been the time. Brady may still have been clutch but not had enough drives to get the W.
Situational Football The Falcons had a big lead and needed to eat clock plus at the end of the game if they run run run kick FG they likely win the game. The Eagles never had the kind of lead where you can run off clock and then seal the game.
saw on a "why NE was cheated link" the hit was a blindside it from behind? wasn't it from the side ? people got crazy over where the hit came from.
I forgot that by rule the hit was completely legal, even with hitting his helmet. I don't think he meant to go to his helmet but he had no penalty incentive to make a lesser hit.
late in the 4th qtr the falcons on the 20 yrd line passed. instead of running it. well the clocked stopped. then ryan was sacked twice and out of fg range. if they ran on 2nd down there, the clock keeps rolling. no idea why they were passing at the end with a lead. the eagles used as much clock as they could ont he ertz TD score to give Brady a little over a minute left.
