Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

That is an excellent idea Willie. I do remember Mel Kiper Jr. came in 85th out of 100 in 2023, he blows, but then the title of the thread says it all.
Collaborative draft I only got one right Logan Lee in the 6th. I had Barton over Fantanu because I didn't think Frazier would be available at 54. Before the actual draft, I will do an all team draft, 7 rounds, post it on X. For now I am just sticking to Steelers draft picks.
The few mocks for Steelers out there from Steelers Wire. They fucking blow, not sure how they get National Recognition, my mocks are far better and I run simulators so I don't just pull names out of my ass.
Steelers Wire is fixated on Jalen Milroe, for my money I like Dart and Allar better and I am positive they go ahead of him. In his Aug. 23rd mock he takes 2 QB, Milroe in the 2nd, then that schmuck from FLorida State, DJ Uailgelgi in the 5th. His 8/31 effot is not much better with Tacario Davis CB, Milroe QB, Key WR, Bowman S, Nelson OT, Oben Edge. So where is the DLine help, Steelers will be looking at DL rounds 1-3, that is why I am focusing my efforts to finding the right group of players. What I have is Graham, Scourton, Nolen, Sanders, Turner, Burch, Mills, Smith. But if you do a mock with none of these dudes, I got an issue. I also know that WR is going to be a top pick too, all my mocks have more or less DL,WR, QB for a reason in the first 78 picks. Even though a CB might be BPA, they are happy with Porter Jr. and the collection behind him. If they draft a CB, I expect it to be a CBN on day 3. Again just a guess. I keep taking Harold Fannin Jr. because I think he is a complete TE like Friermuth, just not well known. Cannot wait to watch him on Saturday.

 

Anyone watching Packers vs. Eagles, I refuse to pay for Peacock. Interested in two players, guys I wanted the Steelers to draft. Quinyon Mitchell CB Eagles, and Karl Brooks DT Packers. I might be able to watch it free on NFL replay I do have NFL Network.

 

I am recording Penn State vs. Bowling Green, it is on BigTen Network, my cable bill is insane, but I get a lot of channels like this one. I also get the SEC channel. But I try and watch 3 games each week, I do have a life and yard work needs to get done. Anyone can chime in if they see a really good player that Pittsburgh would potentially draft.

 

Seen them both a few times, Toledo and Bowling Green State (i live in Toledo)... MAC products have been great. I wanted the Vikings to go after Brooks and apparently, they were in communication with him, but the Vikings didnt do enough to lure him in and they need d-line help to this very moment.

 

Beautiful catch and run by Fannin Jr over the middle to keep the drive alive just a few moments ago, he's impressive. Johnson Jr catches the TD in the endzone and un-ranked BGSU leads #8 PSU 17-7

 

It would help to keep Allar off the field, because as soon as he got back out there he throws a beautiful ball for a quick answering TD. (17-14)

 

So much for a sleeper pick. He looks awesome . TE for Penn State Warren heis a stud Allar not disappointing

 

So Mississippi's Walter Nolen, he's the real deal totally disruptive. Looking in on Tennessee at NC State, OT Anthony Belton called twice for lining up too deep, and James Pierce is on a whole new level, top 5 pick. Watched Michigan vs. Texas and was totally impressed with Quinn Ewers, the Michigan D disappointed me. Graham & Johnson were not playing like top 10 picks, but TE Colston Loveland was. Surprising though he was outplayed by TE Gunnar Helm of Texas. The 3 turnovers was the story and a factor, but the Texas O was just better, didn't expect that in The Big House.
More on the Penn State vs. Bowling Green game. Give the Falcons from Ohio mad props, you could see PSU had bigger faster players, but the Falcons just hung in there until the end. Harold Fannin Jr. will be drafted on day 3, but earlier than a lot of sites are ranking him. I know they signed Muth to a 4 year deal, but again why not have 2 dynamic threats when you run the 12 personnel. Really all the TE's I focused on today did not disappoint.

Northern Illinois 16 Notre Dame 14 Story of the day. This is why Riley Leonard is a day 3 pick, he's another in a long line of ND quarterbacks not named Joe Montana. Mad props to to Coach Hammock, he had tears in his eye, probably the biggest win of his career.

Second Story of the day, Shedur Sanders I will give him a day 2 grade. that pick he threw vs. Nebraska was horrible, you have to be able to look off the corner, telegraphed a pick 6 deep in his own territory. Jaxson Dart although he played Middle Tenn. State, completed 24 in a row, his stock is not just rising it's soaring. The Rebels play some better competition in October. Next week vs. WF, higher level of comp. but not like Oklahoma and LSU next month.

Story of the day part III, Alabama is getting all they can handle from South Florida. Speaking of South Florida, Miami QB Cam Ward looked decisive and accurate.

From what I saw in Abdul Carter Edge Penn State today, he will be drafted around 20, not as good as Pierce, but then again who is. And how the FUCK is Emeka Egbuka not going in round 1? James Pierce going 19th, huh?

 

Anthony Belton is having a horrible day, I liked him in round 4, may have to rethink my ranking. Tennessee looks really good totally overmatching the Wolf Pack. The NC QB isn't helping the OL much.
I watched 3 games today, plus channel surfed, been 10 hours of NCAA football, time to hit the hay.

 

It was. First time NIU EVER beat a top10 ranked team.

 

Day well spent. Football is the reason I always try to bust it during the week so I can still enjoy relaxing with the games come the weekend.

I am trying to find a round 4, 5 OT becasue I think Dan Moore leaves in FA, and signs for good money elsewhere. Hoping Kahn can keep him, but it might be expensive to keep 2 Left Tackles. Speaking of which, I was surprised, Kelvin Beechum is still playing, and starting.

Pretty accurate. He gets my vote.

 

Everything I’ve read on Donte Jackson this offseason got me pretty excited. He struggled in Carolina as the #1 for most of his career, however when he had to be the #2 there; he flat out balled out. After watching him on Sunday, this man needs resigned/extensed to solidify the top 2 CBs on the roster for the next few years.

 

Latest simulator run, traded back from 25 to 26, picked up 57. Dart was gone, went with Allar. I leaned more on offense earlier, since all Pittsburgh does is kick FG's. But I did keep it five and five.

26. Isiah Bond WR Texas speed, shiftiness, production. Burden, McMillan, Egbuka all gone. Traded back 1 spot picked up 57 and a 5th in 2026.
57. Drew Allar QB Penn St.I think they sign Fields to an extension and let Allar sit and learn. I would have taken Dart, he was gone.
66. Xavier Nwankpa S Iowa very talented S, will upgrade everyone we got except Minka. Trade back from 60 picked up 66, 101,195 and a 6th in 2026.
90. Trey Harris WR Mississippi even though I took Bond, our WR room sucks and this late is a fucking steal.
101. Shemar Turner DL Texas A&M Saw good DL play Sunday, but still need an influx of youth and talent.
126. Daylen Everette CB Georgia Georgia player, talented, limited starts but it's hard to crack their lineup.
147. Jack Nelson OT Wisconsin Steelers target Wisconsin player, and OT depth is always good. Not decided yet but Moore could leave in FA if his asking price is exponential.
161, Harold Fannin Jr. TE Bowling Green my man, I will keep drafting him until something changes. He blocks and runs good routes.
195. Yaya Black DT Iowa Good motor guy for the interior, youth on the DL, I see some of the guys on our roster leaving in FA.
226. Jasheen Davis OLB Wake Forest need a 4th OLB, he is not perfect, needs coaching, but has size and a blazing first step.
228. Nick Martin LB Oklahoma probably a depth piece and PS bound, but injuries happen and he will upgrade Special Teams.

 

This ^ mock was run on Pro football Network, The other one was NFL Mock Draft Database. I am really high on Harold Fanning Jr. but as someone who has common sense I picked Tyler Warren, he is rated higher. To be fair I would be happy with either TE. This team needs to score TD's. Is it Field's fault, not sure. If Russell Wilson can do something close to 28 TD's and 10 Int. that is better because you cannot just kick FG's and play Defense. Running the ball is great but you need more of an air attack, a balance. Now will Wilson hold the ball too long, that might be a concern.
