brian Thomas Jr. is a stud , 2 of Mims injuries were guys landing in his ankle. Two things need to be fixed. Protect the QB and score TDs. It’s why I think WR and OT are the target

In that ESPU Mock did anyone see Travis Glover OT Georgia State? I know there is an interest in him because he came for a visit . They were in Georgia’s pro day presumably for Mims and SVPG , hopefully Lassiter

If history continues to hold true, since 2010, every Steelers 1st round pick has had their pro day attended by either Tomlin or the GM, narrows down the personnel we could be looking at.

    Attended:

    Georgia
    Mims,
    Lasiter (not #20 pick),
    McConkey (not #20 pick)
Bowers, not a big enough need to warrant spending pick on, even if he lasted

    Clemson:
CB Wiggins, only person worthy to even be considered, although I know some arent high on him

    Alabama:
Arnold (don't see him lasting to #20)
McKinistry (think a little too early, although I do like him more than some and think his injury played more into his play this year, more so than him regressing)
    Latham

    Michigan:
McCarthy?? even if he lasted, don't see the Steelers making that selection
No One else worthy of #20 consideration

Thomas Jr, ?? Nah Steelers had a weak presence at LSU’s pro day I think
Dunbar was there for Maason Smith who I think is a big underachiever

Fuagua won't be there and not sure how Fiske fits in, other than situational player. IT appears to moi, that Mims is going to be the pick, it's like all these red lights and alarms are going off.

Any word on who was at the BIg 12 pro day? Outside shots here, but there are some 1st round guys that check some boxes. Tyler Guyton, Adonai Mitchell, and Byron Murphy II. All unlikely to be the target but all solid ball players who would upgrade the roster.
Other than Murphy who is not really a prototypical DL prospect, there is not much out there. All these guys have shorter arms, height, and weight compared to "the standard".

Off topic, but I was so thrilled to have Kevin Harlin broadcasting the UConn vs. San Diego St. game. I much prefer him as an announcer to Nantz. I do like Romo as an analyst though, very cerebral but on layman's terms. He sees things and projects well to the viewers. He is making so much cash doing his thing, I doubt he would ever coach and put the stress on himself. He is a +3 golfer, would love for CBS to put him in Augusta on hole 12, I think he could be brilliant. He does exude energy, I think the PGA could use some electricity injected.

It's a great time to be a sports fan. NFL Draft, NCAA tournament, The Masters. and then early May we got The Kentucky Derby. NBA and MLB hard pass.

Yeah, not big on the trade or projected pick. A sure fire IOL or CB is what they need, IMO.

This physically imposing receiver is firmly on the Steelers' draft radar

I think a real popular mock would be Mims, Legette, Van Pran Granger Then hit CB and LB at 98 and 119. 178 and 195 swing for BPA, another WR, CB, S. I am still hoping for Travis Jordan but I think with the signing of Kyle Allen it seems less likely.

Steelers NFL Draft 2024: Bailey mock draft 2.0

Here is an interesting mock, they move up for Frazier and trade away the 4th. I can see them sliding back from 98 to pick up a 4th and a 5th or another 6th. I doubt they sit at 84 to 178 without a selection.

Outside the box thinking playing with house money.

    20. Byron Murphy II DT Texas
    51. Kingsley Suamatia OT BYU
    84. Sedrickk Van Pran C Georgia
    98. Brenden Rice WR USC
    119. Jaylin Ford LB Texas
178.Chau Smith Wade CB Washington ST.
    195. Daiijun Edwards RB Georgia

Now I am betting my own money, real picks, based on need/visists/pro days/ interest/ likes

    20. Amarius Mims OT Georgia
    51. Xavier Legette WR South Carolina
    84. Sedric Van Pran OC Georgia
    98. Mike Sainristil CB Michigan
    119. Cedric Gray LB North Cariolina
    178. Travis Glover OT Georgia State
    195. Kristian Boyd DT N. Iowa

2024 7 Round Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft from Derrick Bell of Steelers Now | NFL Mock Draft Database

Don't care for this mock. I get moving up for Frazier, but too big a void between rd. 4 and 7, that is irresponsible.

There are 3 better tackles other than Rosengarten in the 119 range. Other than Karl Dunbar, not much of a presence at LSU's pro day, that is tipping their hand IMHFO, doubtful Brian Thomas Jr. is the pick. Let's be honest, it's Mims or Barton.

This physically imposing receiver is firmly on the Steelers' draft radar

Holy crap, Travis Glover in the 3rd. I am going on record as saying Tommy Eichenberg will be a career backup and ST player and add shit to the talent on the roster. He was surrounded by talent and when tested he was slow and not very athletic or explosive. With the Steelers adding Patterson and Jefferson, I think there is an emphasis on team speed and athleticism. . The guys who jumped out of the building at the combine were Edufan Ulofoshio and Trevin Wallace. Middle of the draft guys who I do really like are Trevin Wallace and Jaylin Ford who tested much better than Eichenberg. My main man Cedric Gray tested average, but watch tape, look at production and add in Aaron Curry and Aruthur Smith were at his pro day, tells me there is a bigger interest.

Throw this in as to all money in on Mims. One of the few former NFL players who constantly sticks up for Pittsburgh without any affiliation with the team, Brian Baldinger. Read this, makes a ton of sense. Basically draft Mims and run people the fuck over.

Steelers 4-round mock draft after trading for Justin Fields

I like this mock, only 4 rounds though.

Wiggins is a stick figure (173 lbs) who doesn't like to tackle. Remember last year everyone was overlooking the weight (164 lbs) of Emmanuel Forbes. Idiot Commanders could have drafted Gonzalez. Terrion Arnold might be there, but I think the target is OL. I think McConkey will go in the 30's because of his superior route running.

Called this one, it's a money thing with Boyd. Plus do we really expect all 3
speedy WR to make the roster, one is getting cut. Also they could use a wide body out there in Smith's offense. I am thinking Legette and Corely is the target if the board falls that way. And who knows how Kahn will move around. Legette at 51 and Corley who will be gone before 84 possibly. I also like the lineage of Rashee Rice at 98.

45 minutes of two 20 something year old jackoffs going by BPA on some fucking board that is a standard draft board. They pass on Legette at 51 and take Fiske. Then they trade away draft capital to move up for SVP and leave a gaping hole. These kids are fucking morons.

pretty fun to do, but gets depressing. This is what I did. Traded 20 and 84 to the Lions, picked up 61 and 73.

    29. Graham Barton OT/OG/OC Duke
    51. Edggerin Cooper LB Texas A&M
    61. Zach Frazier OC WV
    73. Braden Fiske DL FSU
    98. Renardo Green CB FSU
    119. Brenden RIce WR USC
    178. Gabe Hall DT Baylor
    195. Travis Glover OT Georgia State

FIxed the OL, probably could have went WR over Fiske, or traded back. Each time you do it, it's different. Got a slot CB, 3 OL, solid WR, missed on Legette though, Gabe Hall has the length and measurables, Glover needs NFL reps, but they brought him in for a visit. Barton can play OT and he's an emergency Center.

ok I tried it again, and fucked up on slot CB.7 picks 3 defensive 4 offense, pretty balanced.

    20. Armarius Mims This is Kahn's target make no mistake about it, Latham was also available.
    51. Zach Frazier No fucking brainer. get the Center for the next 10 years.
    70. Xavier Legette (trade with NYG gave up 84,98 got 70, 183) needed a top shelf physical WR in this draft.
    119. Khyree Jackson yeah he is 25, but how many 6-4 CBs are in the draft. again, missed out on a slot CB, board got decimated BTW and naturally Melton, Sainristil went really early Chu Smith Wade also gone.
    178. Kristian Boyd DT. N. Iowa Steelers are high on him. Team needs youth on the DL and he has the measurables.
    183. Tip Reiman TE Illinois could not pass up the value on him. Consider Connor Heyward an H back in Smith's system, another big body, lets run the fucking ball.
    195. Marist Liafu LB Notre Dame (passed on Eichenberg twice) depth at LB, I am not a huge fan of Mark Robinson, he's nothing but a thumper. Liafu can cover I believe. Could not draft Travis Glover, that would be OL, not smart.

this mock draft simulator is fucking addictive, get your board together and give it a shot.

    98. Blake Fisher OT Notre Dame
    119. Jordan Travis QB FSU
    178. Kristian Boyd DT N. Iowa
