Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

I’d like to hang on to him as long as he doesn’t try to force his way out. Green is hopefully gone, Dotson is closer to 50/50 I think. If they can get a 4th or 5th for him then then so be it.

after giving it more thought, Dotson is likely gone. They’ll probably keep 4 tackles, Seomalu, Herbig, Daniels, Cole and either their 7th rounder or that other backup center they signed to a futures deal. That’s 9, which is what they normally keep.

 

Agreed. You hold on to Dotson, he is a starting LG in the NFL, other than day 1 and 2 players drafted, all day 3 picks and UDFA will fight for a place on the roster or PS. Injuries happen, I would rather have Dotson as my contingency plan as opposed to dumpster diving. Some other team could have injuries, including Pittsburgh, keep as much capital as you can until you can't.

 

He is so done in Pittsurgh. That was a crack pipe pick. Two OL we liked better, Quinn Meinerz and Spencer Brown. Although maybe we don't draft Moore if we took Brown. The guy everyone missed on, except KC was Creed Humphrey.

I like Cole but I don’t think he’s going to be the mainstay center for the Steelers. Who are the top 5 centers coming into 2024??

 

Don’t get me wrong, I love Najee and Friermuth but damn I wanted Creed lol JC was an upgrade over Green, that’s really all the information needed on Green at C

 

It doesn’t look like this coming years class is going to be all that great at center either.

 

Hopefully Spencer Anderson turns out to be a stud center. Be nice to find another diamond in the rough

 

Agree 100%, we needed a center to replace Pounc, and to see them pick a TE over a center with Creed available to them in the 2nd is mind boggling and don’t get me wrong, I love Muth as a player but I think we needed the OC before a TE. A complete WTF moment for me.

 

Until this draft the trenches have been an afterthought for the Steelers( for a long time). Who is to blame who knows but as stated as much as Najee and Muth are loved bettter picks could and should have been made. Hopefully both go on to have careers that make us forget about it but the odds are stacked against that as RBs tend to ot last long and Muth's concussion history is concerning.

 

I'm just posting it here because it relates to the draft: CBS has a 2024 mock draft out and has the Steelers picking 9th. 9th!? I'm not calling for them to hoist number seven but, there's no way they're drafting top 10.

 

CBS sucks they trashed the Herbig pick. Kid is a player he will see the field in 2023

 

I see 5 staters in this draft. The first five picks maybe 6. A lot of teams seemed to leave alone the guys that we wanted. There was a lot of reaching in this draft that let good players slide.

Watched a lot of tape of DW the one thing in his arsenal I didn’t see was a stiff arm. Hope Steeler coaches teach him that technique

 

Another angle on the trade at 14. Hoodie wants to blitz Rodgers and have sticky CB’s. If he doesn’t let Pittsburgh take Jones he’s going to have to face him twice a year.

They interviewed NE in a nutshell they were not taking OT locked onto CB. Hopefully the chip on Juniors shoulder drives him even more.
