There are reports now that Geno Smith isn't going to show up at RCMH tonight for the show...if this is true, it might not sit well with teams thinking of drafting him. He was already being questioned for his heart, now he's going to sit at home and pout over not being a first round pick? He could be in for a LONG slide if he doesn't stick his chin out and walk through those doors tonight with his head high.

stick over here, we'll get you out of the red and into the black karma side of things. I don't disagree with you on Elam, but for my own reasons I have Cyprien a few spots higher (upside) and both of them were well ahead of Reid. Go back to the Clemson game, Hopkins torched LSU in the 4th quarter, it was embarassing.

    31 Cyprien
    33 Elam
    46 Reid

  4. I know exactly what u mean bout the Clemson game...I had big $ on the over and Hopkins was having his way. He was always a thorn in FSU's side. Watkins gets all the press, but Hopkins is more consistent and seemed to b their go to guy in the clutch. I think the best player on LSU's defense was #33 on ur board, but these other guys going in the 1st round wont b as good as him.

I think you meant 46 showstopper..... 33 is Elam.

and to be fair if anyone has a problem with the rankings, point it at me, yours truly. I moved most of the players around after going to draftscout, and scout.com, with the input from myself, and everyone else who posted who they liked or did not like and why. That board is definitely mostly influenced by me.

Normally the board is a 3 week adjustment process once posted, with the pack your bags and move this year, we got side-tracked and really hadn't put crap together. Rather than mope about not having a board, I took an entire week-end and put one up. Is it perfect, far from it. But you have to admit having Hopkins as the #2 WR, and Richardson ahead of Floyd was not something everyone else had. Just for the heck of it, if someone wants to copy the first 35 picks and then put a number of where they went in the draft, it might be educational for me. I will say though, that I still have players on the board in the teens and twenties. I did not think Colbert would reach up and buy the hype for the second round OL talent out of desperation.

Every year teams do this, hit that panic mode, it only drops better palyers into the laps of teams like the Steelers who are patient and have their mind made up weeks ago. This last minute surge of OMG, we better get a ________ is just dumb drafting. I think the Frederick pick is even worse than the MItchell pick by Al Davis about 5 years ago.

  7. Its #33 on ur board NY unless I cant read...u have Elam at 34.....this ILB was the glue to their defense and was a tackling machine....if he falls to #48...another steal IMO

showstopper is now neutral karma, not negative. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, Matt Elam could be dyamic, it's not like I had Cyprien at 20 and Elam at 40, they were two spots apart, to each his own. Why I went with the FI kid, UPSIDE. Elam is a ball hawk, a good player, but has size limiations. Cyprien when given the chance in an all-star game, grasped the concepts of NFL coaching and stood out. Sure one game, but I value the Senior Bowl over the combine, show me game tape, show me how a kid responds to coaching. Practice yeah, okay my #6 looked lost, but in the game Ziggy Ansah was a force. A player I thought became a ghost was # 57, he did not step up to the competition.

Yep I got it wrong, 33 still on the board, Elam was 34. But Elam went 32nd, so my board is still better than Kiper's steaming load of Diaper Doody. And if he is there at 48, it's a no brainer.

The Problem with round 2, SF has got the 2 nd overall in that round and I think they go WR it could be allen or 28, or 29, I also think the bills will go WR.

Nobody seems interested in 19... Greg Cosell, Mr. Film Study himself, felt that he was on the same level as Star.. Hood is on life support and I could see McLendon moving to end. 18, 31, 28, 19, 33 is my wishlist. If all are off the board I'd try to move back a few spots and grab 53 in the process. Here's to the trenches!

You know this Smith flying home story might be something fabricated to drive up the drama of him falling. Odds are he thought he was going to go in day 1 and it happened his plane ticket was for the next day. Once word broke out that he was going on his scheduled flight and the resulting backlash of that he had to change it. We're being fed this story about him being a baby when maybe he was just asked "so what's next?" "oh my flight is tomorrow so I'm heading home" Oh no you DIDNT... Suddenly a story out of a otherwise boring NFL draft day.
