So was the love affair with Willis a cover for Picket?

 

I’m glad we didn’t have to trade up. We got a QB our choice, and didn’t mortgage future drafts or water down this one. I’m hoping Picket is impressive and gives us reason to dump Trubisky. Picket has got to be thrilled to play with his favorite team for all his life.

 

They shoild have traded up for Davis but once the fumbled that away they should have traded back pocked up some extra pocks and then nabbed pickett obvious no one was looking QB but the steelers and that bodes ill IMHO

 

The Steelers really hid how they felt about Picket because they believed that he wouldn’t be there when they picked. They were so gung-ho about Willis that everyone believed he was their top choice.

 

Nothing against Pickett vs any other QB in the draft but, this strategy goes against what I was hoping they would do. There's no blue chip QB on this draft and, despite Trubisky's less than stellar career thus far, he can be a low to mid level starter. Why not build in the trenches and revamp a secondary and then think about the franchise QB.

 

Im pounding the table for: Skyy Moore, Travis Jones, Leo Chenel, Chad Muma . Hope 3-4 teams grab QB in the early to mid 2nd pushing someone back to 52.
