Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

Okay, so, just getting my first chance to actually post but I'll give my thoughts now on what I have read so far and on the pick itself.

First of all, I keep reading that it was a reach and that he was the "5th CB on the board" or that the Bengals "stole WJIII from us"...how do we know any of that is true? How does anyone in here know exactly where Burns ranked for the Steelers on their board? For all we know, they would have taken Burns even if Jackson was there! Then what would everyone be saying? They certainly didn't hesitate to hand in the card, so that tells me they were very happy with the pick.

On the pick itself, I really don't know what to think. I have read some scouting reports on him, but haven't watched any tape. He sounds like he has all the measurables you look for in a CB and he certainly seems to be a high character kid. He's young, maybe a project, but he is without a doubt an outside CB, which is what this team needed.

Many in here criticized the Golson pick because they think he's only a slot guy...I don't believe that and I think he'll be an outside player for this team in the very near future, but you can't criticize this pick for that same reason. He's a true man CB who will fit the Tampa 2 scheme very well. He's got long arms, great athleticism and great hands. Lets see how he handles the NFL over the next couple of years before we berate the pick.

We got the CB in round 1, now its time to lock down one of those talented DLs that should be available at pick 58. There are a TON of talented big men still on the board!

Once that's done, to me, the rest is gravy. Those are the two holes I thought needed immediate upgrades, so lets try to enjoy the ride the rest of the way. Again, I likely won't be seeing much of tonight's affairs, and I'm travelling tomorrow, so you probably won't hear from me again until Sunday. I imagine I'll have a lot of catching up to do and some fires to put out by then!! Haha.

I did see a few mocks on the NFL page had us drafting burns.. I like him the more tape I watch. Now 58 and 75 for me.

The Ravens need to pick damn it, they're feeling out the draft right now, need to stop creeping into our range of picks, we already have the Bengals that are going to 'F' us over, don't need the Ravens cramping our style too.

 

What's wrong with Mackenzie? Didn't think he would drop this far.

 

Also 27 and 58 would help the D

 

Not sure but there are other CB's with high grades still a available

 

I think Buffalo goes 27 here

I'll pass on a RB that carried the ball 45 times a game last season.
