Great to hear from you Bites! I like Goff as the best QB in this draft. And Cleveland made a great choice to get out of the #2 spot as well.

Best value day 3 Wr is Pharoh Cooper

  5. I agree

Nice to have you back nyb,

Who do you like on the interior d-line and who is the best fit for what the steelers are looking for? Also would you be happy with Karl Joseph in the first?

Christian Hackenberg is better than Connor Cook. Kevin Hogan is a sleeper , Cody Kessler is a bum

I agree with you on Kevin Hogan NY. I watched him a couple times the past two seasons. He's a smart QB that doesn't throw many interceptions.

I'm not a fan of Connor Cook.

I think Apple is only a sophmore (20 yrs. old) and was names by his teammates as best player in their bowl game. He just doesn't like to tackle and the Steelers like tacklers. Thats his ONLY flaw.......Which may be why many mocks are changing to Jackson III.......If theres a good LB that falls and the Steelers don't sign Jones, which I hope they don't. He's terrible! I could see them going LB 1st and DB or DL 2nd......The offense is good, defense, defense, defense........

I'm waiting on DL maybe Chris Jones miss State mid rounds or Jarron Jones ND late rounds . Someone who can rotate in and line up anywhere . A'Shawn Robinson I
Liked early on but the pool of CB & safety will thin out real quick. Steelers need youthful secondary help and should take DB's early. Apple won't make it to 25 anyways . Pass rushers always in demand, Jarvis Jones is improving but it's s helluva learning curve .

What QB do you see the Steelers selecting later in the draft? I have a feeling they will take one in the last 3 rds somewhere, just don't know them good enough to know who.

    Collaborative Draft Results

    PITTSBURGH STEELERS

    1(25) Karl Joseph, S - West Virginia
2(27) Cyrus Jones, CB - Alabama
3(26) Rashard Higgins, WR - Colorado St
4(25) Landon Turner, G - North Carolina (auto)
6(45) *Ken Crawley, CB - Colorado
7(8) Quentin Jefferson, DT - Maryland
7(25) Justin Zimmer, DT - Ferris State
UDFA Brandon Williams, CB - Texas A&M
UDFA Trae Elston, S - Mississippi

My phone died waiting on the Bengals to pick in the 4th so I missed my opportunity to draft Connor McGovern, G - Missouri. Lotta DBs went ahead of me in the 2nd round. I like Cyrus but I hope someone else drops in the real thing.

I went with guys that visited the Steelers with 3 of my last 4 picks. I read about Justin Zimmer on another site. I doubt he makes it to the 7th in the real draft. Really talented, athletic kid from a small school.

Brandon Williams is a converted RB. He's super raw but physically a great fit at CB. He'd be a nice guy to groom on the practice squad for a year.

  12. Chris Jones is my favourite d-lineman in the draft but I'm not sure where he goes. I've seen him mocked anywhere from middle of the first to the third round. Ultimately I think he's gonna go back end of the first to early second.

I don't like apple, just doesn't play like a typical steeler, he's not physical, doesn't like contact and just isn't a good fit in our defence. I would be surprised if the steelers took him. In truth I don't like any corner in our range in the first two rounds.

my dream draft would go something like Karl Joseph in the first, Chris Jones in the second and then look at corner like Jonathan Jones in the third.

i really hope for this. his tape is awesome and absolutely fits the bill for Steeler colors in aggressivesness and thump. i'm impressed he didn't (his decision) work out after only 5 months (?) since injury ... says his confidence level is high ... which is exactly what i want in CB mentality ... i think he's very worth the risk ... not even sure he gets to us.

i do like III too. he's got great length, speed... he's also aggressive ...

win win, but i hope for Joseph ... don't want to see him in another's colors and have regrets

What's equally good is picking Cyrus Jones.
    He's a football player!
Sure, he's not the best CB coming out but he's a good one that is very good on special teams and is a return man.

I remember the last time we took a return man early...that worked out well.

Cyrus is a CB not an undersized RB

The Steelers recently met with Southern Miss CB Kalan Reed.
Those sneaky Steelers slipped this in before the draft but weren't able to keep this one from the media. We don't know when the meeting took place or where, but we know why Pittsburgh is interested. In need of a corner, Reed is the type of underrated cover man that could appeal to the Steelers in the middle rounds. Pro Football Focus has been banging the drum on Reed for months and believes he's a second-round talent. Apr 27 - 5:59 PM
