I would agree with you, but recent history would prove different. The Redskins did the exact same thing for RGIII and it backfired on them, yet they've made the playoffs as many times as the Steelers in the same period. So it doesn't mean you ruin your team.

I for one believe there are great QBs in this class. This is a very impressive class of QBs in this years draft. JMHO

  2. As I said at first: YES I WOULD TRADE AWAY A BUNCH OF ROLE PLAYERS TO GET MY FRANCHISE QB. Who wouldn't??! How many teams over time "just needed a QB?" Houston as of late, Jets as of the past decade(s), and I'm sure there's more. Plus, "all of those oh so valuable picks" might not even pan out themselves! In fact, I bet more than half of them DONT pan out on the Browns, why? BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE A QUARTERBACK.

You don't win the super bowl without a franchise quarterback, period. Look at the last 14 or so years! The last time a non-franchise QB won a super bowl was Dilfer of the Ravens. Philly just went and got their guy, and the Browns are just hoping RG3 doesn't end up on the IR, again.

Are the Eagles that desperate for a QB? No, they're not, not at all. They just signed Bradford, they thought they were set. Until they saw an opportunity to get a QB who they think will be a franchise guy. Nobody knows how any QB will pan out. And very rarely do you have a guy like a Luck, Brady, Roethlisberger. There are so many other teams desperate for a QB, the Eagles just went and made it happen. That's it.

What have you been watching and reading? Most NFL Insiders disagree with you.........Or should I say all?

  4. "NFL Insiders" hahahahahaha, you do realize the most well known "nfl draft insider" is Mel Kiper, and the title of the thread you're posting on is "Mel Kiper sucks". So now you want to use him and his "insider" buddies as leverage to support your case? I don't need their opinion to formulate my own. This isn't even a fair debate. As I've said now three or more times, TIME WILL TELL WHO WON THIS TRADE. There's no point in talking about it. If Wentz is a franchise QB, and the Browns don't get a franchise guy in this draft or with any of the picks they got from this trade, the Eagles won this trade. Period. End of story. There's no debate. A franchise QB, is more VALUABLE, than any player on any team. If I were to put money on who wins more games & playoff games over the next 3, 5, or 10 years, my money is on the Eagles.

I try not to pay attention to the overpaid talking heads who are just selling airtime. I consider myself a free thinker and form my own opinions from what I see, not what I am told. I could be wrong, but I'd rather be wrong thinking for myself than just blindly taking someone else's word for it. I very well could be wrong. That is why it says at the end, Just My Honest Opinion. Not Mel Kiper's opinion or anyone else's.

For example: Mike Mayock has Dak Prescott as his 5th rated QB and has had him there for well over a month. I personally don't think he's in the top 10, but then again that's my opinion.

Wasn't trying to "pile on" with my post. I type slow and didn't read what Six had wrote. So I apologize for my bit of redundancy.

I get my info from all over and form my own opinion. I don't agree with everything they all have to say. It's my opinion and you have your opinion. So we can agree to disagree......We will forget all about this in 5 to 10 years, let alone if any of us are still posting here......

  8. It's okay greatwazoo, I'm glad I'm not the only one stating essentially the same thing. Plus, everyone is here to pile in their opinions, so don't apologize for sharing yours.

  9. Exactly. Who knows what will happen in that time frame, so why even debate who "won" this trade. Because honestly, nobody knows right now. And by the time we see where the teams are down the road, we won't care who won. The Eagles got their guy, and the Browns got their picks. I'm sure each franchise came out winners in their own mind, any draft pick is always a risk, time just tells you whether that risk was worth taking.

Take this for what it's worth. I have no issues with anyone having "Their Own Opinion", but when you site "all the experts" to disagree with someone's opinion you shouldn't use "It's my opinion" later.

No problem Wazoo. I've been piled on before and I'm used to it! :D

There are no experts. It's easy to tell the great players. It's the lower rounds that teams disagree on.....I personally read what writers and observers have to say and form my own opinion. I don't follow college football so I have to read about about different players.....I follow MLB, NHL, NFL and college basketball. Thats enough for me.....

apologize I should have said "all the insiders" like you wrote.

The Browns seem hellbent to avoid picking their most glaring needs. This offseason they lost so many good players to FA and getting extra picks isn't going to help replace pro bowl level players with draft picks. Getting a franchise QB would improve them enough that maybe good players wouldn't want out so bad.

  15. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

And here I thought that their drafting for need these last 15years worked out pretty good.

    Silly me.

  16. Exactly..."I bet more than half of them DONT pan out on the Browns, why? BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE A QUARTERBACK."

Franchise quarterbacks can cover up holes on the team. They can even overcome a poor defense. How? By keeping drives alive, keeping poor defenses off the field, and obviously scoring more points. But most importantly, franchise quarterbacks make the players around them better. While the Browns continue to fail at finding a quarterback, they'll continue to fail at finding good draft picks, and they'll continue to miss the playoffs.

Your point is valid. Depends on how the draft picks pan out. Personally, I'm not a fan of Wentz so for me the trade leans in the Browns direction but I could be proven wrong.
