Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

  1. What are people's thoughts on Karl Joseph at pick 25?

I might be in the minority but from a talent standpoint I'm more comfortable taking him in the first than the projected corners who could be available, WJ3, Alexander and apple. The only issue is the acl injury.

Well I just took him in RT and LAOJoe's mock at 25. Does that answer your question?

Obviously, I can't see his medical but if they check out he may not make it to 25.

You two aren't the only ones who appear to think Joseph is a good pick.

I will not mention his name again and I wish I didn't do homework on him. I will now be disappointed if he ends up with cincy or someone else. He looks like the black and gold would fit perfectly on him.

  4. Good pick, even with billings still available. I think Joseph can contribute right out the gate and could be a real playmaker in the steelers secondary.

Will be interesting to see who falls to you in the second? Have you got a couple guy's in mind?

  5. Wazoo,

I agree, would hate to see him in a Bengals uniform, laying the wood on our receivers. He would look so much better in black and gold.

    Several. Just hoping someone falls.

Just read about Brandon Williams, CB out of Texas A&M.
Former running back switched to CB and has 4.24 speed.
If he can catch he cou k d be our answer for a return guy.

"Numerous sources" have told TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline that Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander is "a very difficult person to deal with off the field."
Additionally, "some of his [college] coaches are giving Alexander less than rave reviews to NFL teams." The junior cornerback's been the topic of discussion across war rooms leading up to the draft, and it sounds like off-field issues could push Alexander down boards. Alexander is viewed by some as a potential mid-first round pick. Alexander is 5'10/190 and ran a 4.47 forty at the Tigers' Pro Day.

What are the issues? He hasn't failed drug test or been arrested. So he is like Revis, at least you have 5-6 seasons with him to help us win 2 more SBs before Ben retires.

Revis was coveted and not "a problem" off the field or on it. The Steelers would have drafted Revis, but the Jets traded in front of them to grab him. Revis only had one issue, MONEY. His coaches loved him and was never a problem, at least from public knowledge.

If rumors are correct Alexander has "issues". Which would not make him like Revis.

Side note... I believe with the Philadelphia trade today, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 qbs are off the board in the top 10.

  11. Anybody thinking the Eagles DONT go QB with the 2 pick? They did just sign Bradford, and they need a RB and defensive help. So maybe Jalen Ramsey? Or even (I know it's a massive stretch) Eziekiel Elliott?

    Translation he cant be coached

No doubt in my mind they go QB. Their current starter (Bradford) has crystal knees and their highly paid backup (Daniel) is just that. Between these two, they're (almost) guaranteed to allow either Goff or Wentz sit for the entire 2016 season.

When you see what they gave up, you know the only option is to go QB or look incredibly stupid. That kind of trade for a defensive back or RB is how people lose jobs

Yea, Goff & Wentz are the top two picks, what order I don't know?

I think the Eagles already came out and said they were drafting a QB at #2

What are the odds Cleveland drafts Connor Cook and RGIII loses his job again to a Mich St. QB??? lol

I'm not saying with the 8th pick, but it's very possible with the 32nd pick.

Paxton won't make it to the Broncos @31 & Cook won't get past them.

If the Broncos can win the Superbowl with Peyton Manning they may not be in that big of a hurry to pick the 4th QB in this draft.

Sanchise isn't their QB. I would be desperate if I was them.
