Somehow I don't see Tunsil falling to the Ravens, but I certainly wouldn't complain if he did

I'm participating in the mock draft and this is what I drafted for us so far.

    Darron Lee, Ohio State, LB
    Keanu Neal, Florida, S
Javon Hargrave, S. Carolina State, DT
    Ken Crawley, Colorado, CB

I went with Lee thinking that Timmons, Shazier and Lee could be the main 3 when we use 4 man fronts. That would make for insane speed if Timmons gets back to form. If not then Lee could groom to take the spot next to Shazier and keep the inside fast and young. Neal I think can play strong next to Mitchell and start immediately. We needed help on the line so Hargrave in the third round made a bunch of sense. Crawley I kind of picked in a hurry. I wish I would have had more time on my hands to have a better list in front of me.

  3. I think Neal will b a beast and wuld b a great pick in round 2 if he lasts that long

    Just a thought...

I personally believe Laquon Treadwell is going to drop in the first round. If he drops to #25 I would hope the Steelers would contact N.E. for a possible trade back.

I know there are more knowledgeable people on here knowing values of picks and trades, but is it in the realm of possibility to receive #60, #61 and #91 for #25?

I believe N.E. would jump at the chance to draft Treadwell.

Would like opinions, is it possible and or something that would benefit the Steelers?

I know this is hypothetical, but what the hell... This is the time to dream... lol

This is a link to the trade value chart.

I agree treadwell may slide a little bit but I don't see him fall out of the top 20.

As for the trade I wouldn't entertain it. Having to wait till the back end of the second round for your first pick is never a good idea where you struggle to find players of elite talent and the value of the trade needs to be much more in our favour than it is.

However I wouldn't be against trading back to the early part of round two if the right offer came in tho but it all depends who's still in the board.

Hate it or love it, New England keeps the ball moving no matter who's at WR. As long as they long as they have Gronk and Edelman, they'll be fine. All that to say, they wouldn't do that trade imo. If Treadwell falls that far, there will be a few early second round teams that would be better to trade back with who may be willing to draft him at that point.

Thank you. At least the value was about right per the value chart.

Yeah, can't imagine the Steelers wanting to fall all the way out of the second round almost, no matter how good the deal seemed. And like #3 said, the Pats wouldn't jump that far for any player, let alone a receiver. Their MO is to stockpile picks by trading down, not give them all away trading up.

I don't want the Steelers to trade down in the first. I want them to take the best available defender left at #25. Then again in the 2nd round.

I would like to see the Steelers stay at #25. I'm fine with them trading up in any other round as long as they are trading this years picks and not future picks.

Did the Steelers trade away their 5th and 6th round picks this year?

Yes for players that are no longer on the team. They sent a 5th to the Eagles for Boykin and a 6th to the Jaguars for Scobee.

I would have considered him in the first at the start of the 2015 season, but the general consensus now is that he's a second-day pick. I assume some team will pick him up at some point in the third.

Why the fall? Probably underwhelming production.

  13. I would say he has first round talent, I heard he get caught driving with a suspended liscence so there's a chance that could effect his stock, however I feel the third round is a little late and gonna say he goes back end of the first to early second as a team will fall in love with the the raw talent. Time will tell tho.

  14. Who is ready for an almost entirely defensive draft?? Woohoo!!

As it stands, the Steelers have had 23 draft visits. Of those guys, 20 have been defense. I know some teams bring guys in as a smokescreen, and there are certainly guys I feel they are just doing due diligence on, but I would not be surprised to see them add a corner, a safety, a D-lineman, and a linebacker to the roster in the draft. Offensive players would most likely be guard, RB, and WR.

Looks like a re-stock is happening.

I hope they go heavy on defense this draft. The WR coach has earned one pick every year to work his magic though.

  16. Unless they see killer value, I don't see them drafting anyone. UDFA, on the other hand, is a totally separate option. Even with Bryant suspended, they have Brown, Wheaton, DHB, and Coates.

That being said, Wheaton is in the last year of his contract and o highly doubt he will stick around, so it might behoove them to grab someone late that can essentially sit a year and learn.

If I had to guess, I would think that they take a receiver at some point. The value will be there in the mid to late rounds, I think, and they will add a body to develop. There is always room on the roster for another talented receiver.

Not just a WR but one who can return kicks and punts.

I don't know where Cyrus Jones is predicted to go in the draft but he'd be a nice addition to special teams and maybe depth at the CB position.
