This site is better than most because Tim doesn't allow the nasty posters to ruin it like most sites.

Happy Birthday Mano! Wasn't sure if they celebrated birthdays in the C-eh N-eh D-eh.

I think a 3 strike system, wouldn't be a bad thing here. Sometimes newer posters could misspeak and ruffle feathers when it wasn't intended to. I would have to be something that should only be seen by moderators or such so there isn't any targeting to getting a guy booted from here.

It doesn't really seem necessary here. Everyone is pretty tame here. Tim really stays on top of things here and doesn't let anybody get out of control.

  5. I don't post on here much but I like to read people's opinions even if they are completely different to my own. It's a shame that a small minority have driven out some really good posters on here as it really has taken something away from this great draft thread. I still enjoy reading comments about the draft but it just doesn't have the same buzz or participation without nybites and I would love to get his opinion on this years d-lineman and cb's as IMO those were two positions he was often right about and they happen to be some of our biggest needs this year.

For what its worth, I think the concept that people have been "driven away" is overstated.

I'm sure there have been a few people that have chosen to stop posting because they were not happy about the way they were treated by somebody, but I think that's the rarity.

I honestly believe that most people who stop posting just find better things to do. Life moves on. For example, bites messaged me on Facebook today to wish me a happy birthday and said he just stopped posting because he became more focused on health and family. Who can blame him? As long as he's happy.

We have lost dozens of great posters over the years, all the way back to CBS, and I would hazzard to bet that the vast majority didn't leave because they felt "driven away", they just stopped posting when life moved on. So be it. All the best.

I plan to continue here until my life moves on. Or, until all those that I enjoy interacting with have had their lives move on.

I'm happy to hear you're not moving on at the moment.
We are entering a time when this site is most popular. THE DRAFT!!!!

I'm excited this year because this draft is full of potentially great defensive prospects.

If you hear from NY please give shout for us. You can see he's clearly missed

Poutine is amazing. I've made some variants of it. No better feeling than feeling your arteries slowly close up after each delicious bite.

    Happy birthday Mano!

Since bb is not here right now, I will attempt to fill in for him.

So you are 41 years old (today)...how old is that in Canadian years? My guess is it is like Celcius... Mano age = (41-32)*5/9 = 5 --> Happy fifth birthday.

    Regards

P.S. Hope you are having an absolutely fantastic birthday with all your loved ones.

What does the "report" button do? I accidentally hit that a couple times instead of the quote button when I am on my iPad

Late tot he party but Happy Birthday Mano.

A place where fans don't talk down to each other is not on the internet. What ever you do dont go to a Lakers board and as Lakers fan suggest Kobe is one of the worst things to ever happen to the franchise. (Yes I did, Yes I am and Yes I do think he is one of the worst things to ever happen to the franchise). What gets dished out here was nothing compared to there. As for here its amazing how conversations with someone on one board can drive a person insane but interaction with the same person in a different board can be completely different.

I would like to say this. Most people on here are lifelong diehard Steeler fans. Steeler fans are passionate and in many cases, it's like a religion. I personally grew up minutes from Three Rivers Stadium and used to cut school, walk thru the center field fence (which was often left open during working hours) and would watch Bradshaw throwing passes to Swann and Stallworth. My friends and I would stand there in awe like we had just had a religious experience.

I feel like I am very knowledgeable about the Steelers, as probably everyone else who write their opinions on here. So when there are disagreements people tend to take it personal. Everyone on here is probably the foremost expert on the Steelers in their household, family and social circle. With that being said, it's blasphemous to challenge that opinion and most here probably don't have their thoughts challenged on the Steelers.

I have found there are very knowledgeable people here and some who are less so. I am not here to judge them, we all have our opinions and we obviously believe in our opinions. I know my opinions wrangle some feathers in here at times. I try to be respectful of others and realize "My opinion" is just that, mine. If we all agreed this site would not be here.

Accept we are different, disagree, argue, but try to respect each other. You never know when you will learn something from someone with a differing opinion.

    Just my 2 cents.

  18. Nicely said wazoo. Now back onto the draft. If Mackenzie Alexander, William Jackson are Eli Apple are all on the board who would you take and why, also who do you think the steelers have highest on their board?

  19. Alexander is a physical corner that likes bump n run

Jackson is very athletic and plays better in off coverage technique

Apple is a combination of length and physicality and can play press or off man technique

In Pitt's scheme I believe their board is Apple, Jackson and Alexander

  20. A few tidbits from Tony Pauline at the BYU pro day:

The belief from people at Boise State's pro day is the Steelers will take the best defensive back seven player (safety/cornerback/linebacker) when they are called to the clock in Round 1.

Safety Darian Thompson, who was sick at the combine, ran a much faster 40 time, clocking 4.53 and 4.55 seconds. He also turned in a time of 11.68 seconds in the long shuttle.

Thompson, who worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, met with the Tennessee Titans yesterday and has official visits set up with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers next week.

Outside linebacker/defensive end Kamalei Correa also met with the Tennessee Titans yesterday and had dinner with the Pittsburgh Steelers last evening.

Correa competed in everything but the 40 and bench press today, touching 34 inches in the vertical jump (33 inches at the combine), 9-9 in the broad jump (9-0 even at the combine), then timing 4.15 seconds in the short shuttle and 6.78 seconds in the 3-cone. As mentioned weeks ago, Correa is getting late first-round consideration.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the teams considering Correa late in Round 1.
