Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

I tend to agree. Its not that there are any real glaring NEEDS like there have been in the past, but depth and future starters are certainly needed at many places.

The argument can be made that the team is relatively set even in the secondary, contrary to what most believe.

Its always good to add top end talent to the weakest units, and I think that is the secondary right now, but I'm all for the Steelers taking the best available defender in the first couple of rounds, then filling out the depth the rest of the way.

 

Also, I have recently realized that I will not be available during the draft. We will be in Cabo that week on a family vacation.

The trip was booked and paid for by my in-laws who obviously are not football fans, otherwise, they certainly would have picked a different date!

So, I will regretfully withdraw from any War Board activities...not that I've done anything anyways! :[

He and NYB have been MIA for a while. Not sure you can count on those reports this year, breed. Both are still around...see them posting on FB now and then...but staying away from here apparently. Maybe they found a new place to post? Who knows...

 

I know someone rubbed NYB the wrong way on here and that is a big reason why he's not on anymore. coupled along with some personal things. He said he's not going to post on here anymore.

We've all had our differences but hopefully they will change there mind and come back.

 

Honestly, I get it.

These forums are supposed to be fun, and if you are no longer having fun posting, why continue? There have been many times that I have considered giving it up, and I certainly don't post as much as I have in the past. I mean, I'm 41 years old (today), I have a wife, 2 kids, a 50 hour/week job...I am a busy guy. My little bit of downtime that I have to spend talking Steelers I prefer to spend talking with people that actually want to have an intelligent, respectful conversation. I don't want to spend my days defending this team from idiots who want everyone fired the first time the team fails to get a first down on 3rd and 2! Its frustrating and annoying.

If I had to guess, bb and nyb probably got fed up with all the infighting. The posters who talk down to other posters and the people that post for no other reason than to start crap.

I only continue because I have become friendly with a handful of people and I enjoy interacting with them, specifically. I pretty much avoid the people I don't like and for the most part, it works.

If bites and bb have found a new place to hang out where they are happier, then good for them. They seemed to enjoy each other more than they did the rest of us anyways.

I don't think it is possible to find a place where fans don't talk bad, down to people, call people names. Ect. I started posting first on steelers.com and only Steeler's fans were on there. It was worse than here or cbs believe it or not. Your not going to find a utopia site, too many assholes out there just to bust people's chops.

 

Oh, I agree. Don't get me wrong, I know that this site is probably better than most. That doesn't make it okay, though. The older I get, the less patience I have for stupidity. Considering that bb and bites are significantly older than I am, it doesn't surprise me that their patience ran out, that's all!

I'm not sure there is such a place where negativity doesn't exist anyway if so irs got to boring as hell.

There are a lot of people who don't understand what they are seeing as an individual players assignment or skill.
So the is a bit ignorance but it's innocent.

I know I've learned a LOT over the years postion and reading with most of you guys.
If we're talking about a subject don't put a man down because he sees things differently. Instead show him the reason he's wrong.

I stick around here because rather than a bunch of crap starting clowns this group of Steelers fans has been fairly consistent for years. I don't mind the negativity from fans. Figure sometimes they are here venting. I like the differing opinions. When I see a rant I rack it up to a rant. If I see a new crap talker I figure they will move on.

I enjoy the different perspectives of many posters here. My opinion has been changed or evolved many times. I'm not here as often as many due to a very busy work and family life but I love having an outlet to talk Steelers.

Honestly, I have no issue with negativity when its warranted. We haven't always seen eye to eye on things, but at least you will listen to reason. If I give you enough evidence, you will reconsider your opinion, that's all I ever ask. Respect. And it goes both ways.

My issue is always with the thoughtless reaction backed up by stubborn ignorance, and finished off with namecalling and nastiness. That's not you...although you can be stubborn sometimes!

 

That's good to hear Mano I have much respect for you and quite a few others including beach but please don't tell him.

Maybe we ( Tim ) can issue warnings to those who chase others away with disrespect.
