I agree 100% we got that for Bryce McCain, which might be the best contribution he ever brought to the team.

Because of 1 of the dumbest trades ever made, we had no 6th round pick, so this is a huge plus.

Now we have 1-4, 6th, and 2 - 7ths

 

One of 2 dumb trades last season.

 

I get it Steelerfan, but I just don't expect this team to sell out like that.

For all the issues in that much maligned secondary last year, this team was a Superbowl contender and likely goes to the game if they just stay somewhat healthy on offense. Missing Bell, Williams and Brown against Denver...not to mention the handful of games they were missing Ben in the regular season that potentially kept them from winning the division and maybe having homefield...are what doomed the 2015 Steelers, not the shoddy play in the secondary.

I believe this team is the favourite to win the Superbowl even if they don't add a single impact player to the roster in the offseason. If they can draft a Safety or CB that actually has an impact, all the better, but I wouldn't want to mess with the chemistry by overpaying some street free agent. I want the team to continue to do what they have done the last few years while rebuilding this roster.

Stay the course...it usually pays off.

You're not alone in that thinking as I have read quite a few people with the same opinion.

I'm not as high on him though. I believe he has never been higher than 6th in my rankings for safeties.

 

The Steelers shouldn't be done signing free agents. With Bryant's suspension, a hole suddenly opened up at WR. It shouldn't be a big one, especially if Sammie Coates develops, but there are already more than enough holes at varying other positions for the draft to satisfy.

The Steelers are reportedly interested in signing former Lions DE Jason Jones. I think this would be the best thing for them to do going forward. Jones would be a depth signing who'd come in on passing downs to provide an additional pass rush.

I question the bold. Yeah Bryant will be missed but you still have Brown, Wheaton, DHB, and just signed TE Green. Bell will get his catches out the backfield (or Williams) as well. That's a lot of targets already without including Coates. I don't think you guys would need to go after a WR until later in the draft (4th or beyond) or the 2nd round of FA

 

Maybe you shouldn't have stopped after the bolded part. I don't think the Steelers would roll into 2016 with only four WRs.

Kind of my thoughts too rare. It may seem like good value, but with Eli Apple, Andrew Billings, and Jarran Reed still there? Any of those 3 are higher on my board than Floyd and serve as more of a need than a LB for the 4th year in a row.

 

It might be that I read it differently than you intended for it to be read. I guess when I see "a hole suddenly opened" I think more "starter" than "depth" since I wouldn't call looking for a 5th WR a hole. My apologies
