While possible, that's poor reasoning when we ended up taking an OLB anyway who also was a steal. The climate is different now; if they end up picking another OLB in this draft, we'll know they're losing faith in Jarvis Jones. Spence would be an ideal fit for us at ROLB.

They seem very conservative with first round picks. High character guys only.

  3. Why wuldnt Pitt take a chance on Phil Taylor....he wuld have been cheap and can play NT???

They brought him in. Guessing the physical didn't go well.

His legs are absolutely shot. I highly doubt he would pass a physical for an NFL team.

I just read the Steelers are moving on from Will Allen.
I thought he look pretty darn good especially for his age.

I fully expect the Steelers to draft a safety within the first 2/3 rounds, if one is good enough there

...and it's not as a first rounder but I think the 2nd is a good spot...as of now. I think he is being vastly underrated.

  11. He just signed w the Super Bowl champs

  12. Im willing 2 bet #138 is a Pro Bowler 4 many yrs...heat sinking missile

I don't know why you would be opposed to picking henry in the 1st would you rather get the 3rd or 4th best CB or DL or would you rather get the best TE at that position, and by the way it is a position of need, I don't think I'd feel too comfortable with just Spaeth and James goin into the season. James still has a lot to improve on but did get better as the season went on.

Damn skippy I would. The 3rd or 4th DL in this draft is gonna be a stud. There are 5-6 CBs that I believe can be really good.

  15. I completely agree with Beach, but respect all of your opinions. Defense first, there's a lot of talent on the d-line early on. The CB's are really solid as well. Someone on that side of the ball (maybe several) will fall to 25 that the Steelers will have higher on their board than Henry.

D line talent is crazy this year. From what I've read this draft is also very deep in DBs.

I would like to "+1" all most pertaining to how loaded this D line is this year.

But there are some nice steals in the secondary.

The depth at d-line and CB make my point even more, you have more of a selection and the talent might not fall off as much, as far as TE goes it's really not a strong draft, why not get the best one at that position and then you can get some great talent still in rounds 2-3 for the DL and DB.

Now I'm not saying I'd be disappointed if they do go defense, but I wouldn't be surprised if they went with Hunter Henry either.

Hunter Henry is a reach. Period. Being bold with your predictions has to have basis in habit and reality to make it credible. The Steelers don't value the TE position very much as a team, and they don't pick second-round prospects in the first round. Can we all come back to sanity now?

The Steelers T.E's are blockers first with good hands being the icing on the cake.
There are a few good Steelers types that can be had in the 2 or 3rd round
