I could be wrong but I thought we gave up our 7th for Scobee?

  5. Not sure how u dont have a CB anywhere in there....that shuld b their #1 need...front 7 is stout but can use some depth on DL....what can 7th round pick and Wheaton get u? 3rd round?

Would a OT be a waist of first round pick with Beachum coming back ?

  7. beachbum M.V.P. Manager Steelers

Well that sucks. We do have an extra 7th for trading our punter I think.

This is what we have according to one site I looked at the number in parenthesis is overall pick.

    1-25 (25)
    2-27 (58)
    3-26 (89)
    4-25 (120)
7-8 (197) From Giants for Wing
    7-25 (214)

    Lost Picks
5-25 (152) to Eagles for Boykin
6-26 (183) to Jaguars for Scobee

They might pick up another 7th round pick as compensation for McCain

Good drafting teams don't draft for perceived need, and I already made clear my stance on corners though I understand if some people would disagree. I also don't think another odd-round pick on corner is going to make a difference. The Steelers aren't going to trade Markus Wheaton, so I don't see how humoring that scenario would do any good.

Steelers re-signed Cockrell to a 1 year deal

  12. Why wuldnt they trade him? He is their 3rd best WR and u can get away w Coates and DHB as #3 and #4 WRs...Pitt has ignored the DB position for a long time and it seems that every yr people talk bout how bad their pass defense is yr in and yr out and the offense will carry them 2 the SB

  13. rarebreedsj Franchise Player Steelers

The Steelers haven't ignored the position, quit the opposite, they just haven't had great resaults.

I don't think they can get a 3rd for Wheaton. That's a pretty high pick for a guy that is 12 months from free agency. I know the Patriots were willing to give a 3rd for Sanders but that was a unique situation. I don't believe Wheaton is the same player Sanders is.

  15. Brown has 2 years left on his deal, I believe, and won't be cheap. Bryant will likely want huge money. What if one of those 2 wants to test the open market? Wheaton is a good player and I'd hate to lose him, our depth at WR is what makes the offense so hard to stop.

If I was Brown I would want a deal that last as long as Ben's, because I believe they make each other better and Brown might have a hard time landing a contract he wants on a team paying one capable of getting him the same numbers he is getting with Ben.

There were a few WR that got $15 million a year contracts before the season started. I think that is the starting point for a new AB contract.

The Steelers tend to let their WRs walk away using them to the end of their contract rather than trading them (Sanders, Buress, Wallace, Thigpen, and Washington). Holmes was only traded away because the franchise had to many black eyes at one time. I think they also let Troy Edwards and Charles Johnson walk. Brown is going to cost them if they want to keep him. They will then decide which of the other two is most important and affordable the other will be allowed to walk.

Sorry bout that. I must of read the wrong stats verifying Berry's age. I went back and looked and yes, he's 24. But I still think the Steelers could use a better punter.....

    Exception: Hines Ward

I think you can say Brown is as important to the team now as Ward was.

Besides, you realize every one of those receivers never signed a second contract with the Steelers (except Burress the year before he retired), right? Brown already has.
