Hardy Nickerson is still one of my all-time favorites.

He's probably remembered more for his work in an orange uniform but he played at a pretty high level in black and gold to start his career.

In typical Steeler fashion they'll probably just take whatever Goodell lays down and not exercise any and all opportunity to reduce the suspension. There is precedent to arguing Bell's offense occurred under the old policy and should be punished accordingly which would result in no suspension. But they won't push it. Sigh...

 

p.s. Where's the NFLPA to defend Bell?

 

I believe Bryant is in for a huge season, but the real winner in all of this is Roethlisberger. Ben has a realistic shot of hitting the 40 TD mark this season considering the weapons he has at wideout and in the backfield.

 

I defy anyone to say the league doesn't play favorites when Brady filled his appeal after Bell and yet Brady's appeal has already been heard. When is Bell's? Yeah nobody knows.

 

Forgive me if I am wrong, but its my understanding that Bell's appeal has already been heard, just no decision from the league has been announced, similar to Greg Hardy. Once a player appeals, I'm pretty sure that there is a limit on how long that appeal can wait to be heard. I think this was just far more high profile than Bell's appeal so we heard all about the timing, whereas Bell's appeal was heard without much fanfare.

 

But, but, but, Mano . . . Bell is a Steeler! The league revolves around the Steelers.

Jean...the linked article clearly states that it is possible that it has been heard. We just don't know. It says that hearings usually take place within 30 days of filing the appeal unless the parties mutually agree to delay the hearing. So, if it hasn't been heard already and it has been delayed, Le'Veon Bell had to agree to delaying it.

If Bell agreed to (or requested to) delay the hearing, ipso facto, there is no favoritism in hearing Brady's appeal first.

 

OMG I went to the Steelers board and read a Steelers thread where a post by a Steelers fan was talking about how something effects a Steelers player color me shocked.

Maybe it has, but to not have heard anything about it when hardly anyone can keep a secret anymore just seems off to me. If they have heard it and just have not released the results then color me the fool, but until it comes out that they heard it Im going with the favoritism card.
