I hate the pick, the Steelers seem to strike gold with WRs....could it possibly be aimed at motivated Bryant to not settle. That makes no sense. Does he play Special Teams for crying out loud?

    There goes Matt Jones.

  3. burghball Guest

    Yes he can return

  4. mc Franchise Player Steelers

The Pirates wasted bases loaded with no outs in the 6th (2-3-4 up)....that'll lose you a game!

  5. Steelroc74 Franchise Player Steelers

Matt Jones RB just went in the 3rd rd.

Okay little league game is over. 4-2 win. Hate these 8pm games. I saw we took Golson. I'm guessing the board nearly imploded? Tim did you have to do some site maintenance? :D

So far, after Coates, Hunter, Heuerman, Anderson, and Jones all flew off the board. Ugh.

    Browns traded up.

At least that's something. The Steelers went for a small returner last year in the 3rd. I guess they're trying a big returner in the 3rd this year.

  10. Bath teams have blown oppotunity. Lots of good pitching in c this division.

AND THERE GOES COOPER. TO CLEVELAND.

You know what's funny, though? Lance Zierlein compared Coates to.....Martavis Bryant.

I guess if 49 or 57 fall all the way to us in fourth round, it will still work out...

Just got home and caught up on the posts for the day.

Gotta say, I'm glad I wasn't here to see this abortion of Steeler picks today. Hugely disappointed with RB, CB, and OL talent available and they take a #6 WR instead?

Golson isn't even a guy I looked at or considered because he doesn't have a 45" vertical, which is what he will need to play outside. I didn't think the Steelers needed another slot corner.

Cleveland is kicking butt in this draft, a pleasant surprise. Lyman should be pleased.

    Okay, round three is over.

Here is how ny's board stands as we head toward tomorrow. Enjoy.

    39. TJ Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh, 6-5 309. Similar to Humphries, but even more raw.
    49. Doran Grant CB Ohio State 5-11 193 moving up boards after solid pro day
    50. Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State, 6-0 220, NFL sized Battering Ram, But like Johnson better. Has an injury which may drop him.
    51. Trey FLowers, OLB, Arkansas, 6-2 266. Steelers have an interest, he has a huge wingspan
    56. Javorious Allen, RB, USC 6-1 215 3 down back with power
    57. James Sample, S, Louisville, Overshadowed by Holliman, better prospect
    58. Jeremy Langford, RB, Muchigan State, 6-0 206. Smaller & fadter version of Bell
    59. Tre' Jackson OG FSU 6-4 339 he's a people mover
    60. Cody Prewitt, S, Mississippi, 6-2 220. Huge safety, this might be a bit low for him.
    63. David Cobb RB Minnesota 5-11 220 Another solid back from The Big Ten
    66. Derron Smith, FS, Fesno State, 5-11 200. Like him much better than Holliman, he tackles
    69. Ibraheim Campbell, S, Northwestern, 5-11 205. A good safety in a weak class may push him into round 2
    73. Grady Jarrett. DT Clemson, 6-1 304. Sure he is a 3 technique. He is also unblockable and can be used in sub packages as a 1 gap. The knock on him is his ceiling is reached already, and his stamina. But as a situational guy in a DL rotation, I think you need some disruptive pieces to throw at an Offense.
    74. Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (FL), 6-3 270. Faster and more athletic than you think, he actually played the 5 for the 'Canes.
    75. Davis Tull, OLB, Tenn-Chatt. 6-3 240. Very interesting small school player with a lot of production, tested well. Currently Injured, this will drop him slightly.
    76. Anthony Harris, S, Virginnia, 6-1 190. Good player, albeit a little light for the Steelers perhaps
    79. Ifo Ekpre-Olumi, CB, Oregon, if not injured he would be hired, but he is not a Steeler typical CB either.
80.a Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn, 5-11 210. Does everything well, good value on Day 3.
    81. Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State. 6-0 180. One of Winston's favorite targets, I dropped him a bit due to his thin frame. He will be a Number 3 WR in the NFL.
    84. Lynden Trail, DE, Norfolk State, 6-6, 260. Athletic project that needs to be coached up, big upside.
    85. Kenny "my man" Bell, WR, Nebraska, 6-1 197. Saw 2 of his games, was impressed. He also tested well at the combine. Blocks the snot out of people.
    86. Gerod Holliman, S, Louisville, 6-0 202, Led the nation in picks, not sure if he can be coached up to hit like Ryan Clark
    87. Za?Darius Smith, DE/OLB, Kentucky, 6-4 270. East West standout, high motor guy
    88. Jarvis Harrison, OG, Texas A&M, 6-5 310, good footwork, rated highly on many boards, solid level of competition in the SEC.
89..Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn, 5-11 210, downhill runner from the SEC.
    91. Durrell Eskridge, S, Syracuse, 6-3 207, long and rangy Safety. Steelers have a history with Syracuse.
    93. Justin Cox, S, Mississippi State, 6-2, 190. Long safety needs to put on weight.
    94. Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma, 6-5 321. Powerful Big 12 lineman, middle rounds he's value.
    95. Justin Hardy, East Carolina 6-0 190, another small school sleeper that I like
    96. Kurtis Drummond, Michigan State, 6-1 200 Both Tomlin and Colbert were at his pro day, not just for Waynes.
    97. Sean Hickey, OT/OG, Syracuse, 6-5 307. Steelers were at his pro day and worked him out.
    99. Zach Waggenmann, OLB, Montana Grizz, 6-4 250. HIgh effort guy who has some pass rushing skills
    100. Dezmin Lewis, WR, C. Arkansas, 6-4 210, Size and speed, good clay to work with.
    101. Charles Gaines, CB, Louisville, 5-10, 180. Has a lot of traits of William Gay, also coming out of Louisville.
    102. Tre' McBride, WR, William & Mary, 6-0 210. Tomlin's alma mater. A real good mid round steal JMFO.
    103. Travis Racitti, DT, San Jose State, 6-5 290. Versitala DL player who would be a fit in Pittsburgh
    104. Jesse James, TE, Penn State. Steelers? fans have a man crush on him, I have him as a day 3 target
    105. Arie Kuandjio, OG, Alabama, 6-5, 318. The less talented brother of Cyrus, he's just a big guard not much else.
    107. Ladarius Gunter, CB, Miami (FL), 6-2 195. big cover guy, terrible 40 at the combine, pro day is 4/1
    108. Jacoby Glenn, CB, Central Florida, 6-0 180. lean corner from a smaller school, cannot eliminate any CB in this draft
    109. Jeff Luc, ILB/FB, Cincinatti, 6-1 251. A thumper that also worked out at FB at his pro day.
    110. John Crockett, RB, North Dakota State, 6-0 202. Very productive, better numbers than David Johnson actually, could be a day 3 pick by Colbert.
    111. Corey Crawford DE Clemson, 6-5 270, looks the part, his tape disputes it.
    112. Terry Williams, NT, East Carolina, 6-1 353. Kid is a HOUSE.
    113. Marcus Rush, OLB, Michigan State, 6-2 243. Just added to this board, may move him up, he tested very well and Tomlin and Colbert were in attendance.
    114. Blake "Belldozer" Bell, TE, Oklahoma 6-6 259. TE is new to him, and I think he is targetted like Jesse James as a day 3 option, nothing more.
    115. Nick Boyle, TE, Deleware, 6-5 260, Better blocker than most in this class
    117. Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame, 6-4 260, solid prospect nothing flashy. ND has put out a lof of very good TE's.
    118. Max Vailles, LB, Virginia, 6-5 251. Athletic Monster, mediocre football player.
    119. Cam Thomas, CB, Western Kentucky, 6-1 190. His pro day was 3/18 I don't see much info on that. He has length but was torched in the bowl game,
    121. Titus Davis, WR, Central Michigan, 6-1, 197, Broke all of Antonio Brown?s records. Does not have the quickness however may struggle to get separation .
    122. Quashawyne Buckely, DT, Idaho, 6-1 305. Good burst off the ball, his level of competition is what will be in question.
    123. Ellis McCarthy, DT, UCLA, 6-3 330. Mountain of a man, probably a pure NT.
    124. Zach Vigil, LB, Utah, 6-2 245. When you put on tape this kid shows up, not hard to find him. Plays stiff however, needs to be dropped lower.
