I wouldn't touch a TE until at least round 5, probably round 6. Unless Maxx Williams is there at 56, you Pasadena all the way to near the end of Day 3.

The latest mocks out have top WR falling because of the depth, HELLO,, welcome to the Party even though they are slow, they are getting it. The mocks are now starting to focus more on the bigs and less on the skill players in round one.

I have moved Laken Tomlinson all the way u to 27 on my board. Don't care who is there at 56, if he is there you pull that trigger and you have a starting OG for the next 4 years, that you plug in from day 1. The debate would be if Maxx Williams was there and Nate ORchard were there. All indications are telling me they go CB in round one,, based on depth of Edge Rushers and how fast they fly off the board. I guess you can not ignore Randy Gregory's talents, but now he is doen 5 lbs. from the Combine.... man he is a liability in the run game at that weight.

I think everyone in their brother knows who I am taking in round 3 if he is there, my pick is up at 3 PM.

They must of taken it off. I hunted all over for it and couldn't find anything except the 4 guys you mentioned that have 2 for Peters and 2 for Johnson. I'd take any of the 3 with Johnson being my 3rd choice if all 3 were there......

Looks like you're gonna get him, only two teams between you and the pick.

I'm really surprised the Steelers haven't met with Josh Shaw or made any apparent effort to meet with him, considering he figures to be right there on the board when we pick in round 3. Questions about his straight-line speed have been answered at the combine, so the only thing the Steelers could object to is his bizarre situation regarding lying about how he got his injury that kept him out of football last year. He could be off their board entirely in that case.

I hope day 2 of the draft goes the same way for the Steelers!

I took Markus Golden all 3 times, he's the right type of player you want in round 3. A few scouts predict he may end up being the better pro than Shane Ray. I'm not banking in it but I am banging the table for this kid.

BTW my second choice is very high on my biard if hes there early 4th im moving up

  12. I'm no expert but I agree with this. Shane is a better athlete but Markus is a better football player, also a great vocal leader.

    Question for all,

If you had Bud Dupree and Marcus Peters both available when the Steelers picked, Who do you think they go with?

I'm thinking the Steelers would go Peters, the draft is not as deep at CB in my opinion, then the next 2 rounds they might double dip at OLB.

Depends on how high they rate Peters, I guess. I think Dupree would be a safer pick because of the position he plays, but Peters fills a greater need.

I personally hope the Steelers take a defensive back in the first round. Not just because of need, but if history shows anything, they do pretty well when drafting a db in the first round.

The last three are Troy Polamalu (2003), Chad Scott (1997), and Deon Figures (1993). To me, it's hard to say they do well considering they have only drafted 3 in the last 27 drafts.

  17. steelersking M.V.P. Steelers

Polamalu will eventually be in the HOF, Scott was better than many realize, and Figures was a solid contributor for a few years...wouldn't say they knock the ball out of the park with dbs in round 1, but based on those 3 they do alright. But Stlcrtn is right, too small of a sample to make those kinds of statments...

If Randy Gregory falls to 22 he needs to keep falling. Kid has failed 3 drug test in 15 months including the one that everyone knew was coming. Sure he says he hasn't smoked since December but with 2 fails already under his belt why would he risk a third and get kicked off the team? Guy has way to many red flags to take the risk.

All mocks now have the Steelers taking a corner (not a good year for safeties). Some predict as many as 12 in the first 2 rounds. I watched a bit of the NFLN last night and one of their guys had the Steelers taking Byron Jones (5th on Mayocks list). So I don't think theres any question the Steelers take a corner, it's a question of which one? I would think about taking another in the 2nd round also if a good LBer isn't available.....

My statement wasn't about how many. It was quality. They haven't whiffed on a db IMO. They also drafted Woodson 6 years prior to Figures, But I stand by my original statement. Of the last 4 they have 2 HOFers and a longtime starter. I would say that is a good track record for picking that position in the first round.
