Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

Yep - Mayock had Geno (Jamarcus, Jr.) Smith to the Browns at #6. Damn near lost my TV when he said that.
Maybe he's just ingrained with the mind thought that the Browns ALWAYS phuque up their 1st round pick. My guess is that these boneheads actually do it and then compound their ineptitude by sending some mid round picks to the Dolphins for Davone Bess.

What we do have going in our favor is that I suspect 2, maybe 3, of the first 5 picks will be for O-Line tackles (one of the few positions that the Browns don't need. Make no mistake, we need a QB but I sure as hell don't see one in this draft that is substantially better than the geritol guzzling one we have now.

That said, I wouldn't be too unhappy if they went for (a) one of the higher rated edge rushers to compliment Paul Kruger, (b) a CB (either Milliner or Hayden . . . even the Honey Badger later on in round 3 if he's still there) or (c) even Warmack or Cooper at Guard.

For the record, I would prefer Cooper over Warmack and Hayden over Milliner. Imagine with the addition of Hayden, we could have a "Law Firm" secondary of Haden, Hayden, Ward and (?).

 

A Dion Jordan or Cooper would be nice for you guys.. How about doing me a favor and take Javis Jones off the board for us? and while you're at it - Take that Smurf Austin off too...

I'm with ya on this one - I posted before Gil Brandt has him out of the 1st round (or did) If we go LB in the first, its Ogletree for me - BUT with the baggage - that aint happening.. I really hope J.Jones is on the board at 17 and we trade back...

When it comes down to it, I had a list of 3 players I wanted. Unfortunately, I don't believe the Steelers will get either 3. Lotulelei is too good to fall to 17, Vaccaro will go to the Rams at 16 at the latest, and Rhodes will probably get scooped up by Miami if they don't trade up and Milliner doesn't fall.

Trade down and draft Brown. LBs are set for a while then and then the defensive worries can go to bed.

 

If u guys liked Gildon, I think Jones will b better.

 

I can live with Jones, Patterson or Lotulelei. Cooper and Vaccaro will be gone. Ansah is going to Detroit, bank on it. I don't like Mingo. Brown @17 is a reach, but I felt that way about Pouncey, that's why I'm at home with the rest of the amateurs

 

Eiffert? No f way, Colbert already pointed out what a weak TE class this is. Miller, Saeth, Johnson, Paulson I like that group as is, 3 active, one undressed good depth

 

Spaeth will be inactive.. due to his "active' bladder.... if you see #89 in the parking lot - stand back a few feet... the cuffs of your pants might get misted...

There is a rumor that MIN wants to jump ahead of CHI (#20) to get Te'o. That would be a good trading spot for the Steelers. MIN has #23 and #25. Either would be good.

Other rumors: Teams trying to trade up for Austin. Eifert going top 15. Both would be good for the Steelers.

 

Good video bb. All three should be huge parts of the line.

Watching ESPN now, I know some don't like him, but Jaws has a pretty good record of picking sleeper day 3 QBs and he has Clay Belton from Findlay on his radar so he may be a guy to watch.

Of course the Jets have their own correspondant.

McCrapper didn't even have Joeckel in his top 8. What a weenie.

 

Let's see Pirates won 3/4 in Philly, Crosby cleared to play and a Pens game, let's top it off with a good pick in the 1st!

 

Yeah - Beating the Phils is always quality - that Pedro - I hate him and I love him.. mostly frustrated with him... He sucks as a 3rd basemen, struggles with lefties.. but he can hit the round tripper...

Pens - Worried about them getting comfortable again once Crosby and Neil are added back...

good pick? I'm hoping for a Great pick and a move back...
