MyCole Pruitt is a better choice anyway if we want a short TE. I don't know how O'Leary is a fit for any NFL team.

I've been saying all offseason how the Steelers won't overrate RB, but the flip side to that is that the Steelers do place a high premium on the position out of concern for Bell's longevity. That said, they only met with three RBs this offseason - T.J. Yeldon, David Cobb, and Matt Jones in order of projected draft range, so there isn't any indication that they are, in fact, seriously on the hunt for a new RB.

I agree completely on Collins. I never thought the Steelers were seriously considering him anyway.

I'm going to try and form a mock draft based on who the Steelers have hosted for visits and workouts.

    1. Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
    2. Danielle Hunter, OLB, LSU
    3. T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama
    4. Jesse James, TE, Penn State
    5. Justin Cox, DB, Mississippi State
    6A. Sean Hickey, OL, Syracuse
6B. Kyle Emanuel, OLB, North Dakota State
    7. Max Garcia, OL, Florida

I've heard he ranges in weight from 225 - 245, tired of the scrawny OLB's, no thank you. Even though he's be a project and not sure where he's graded at but we have a couple of projects at OLB right now, Zumwalt and the other guy that NYB was high on as a late round pick last year, name escapes me right now. We need guys that are smart, tough nosed, pass rushing, edge holding MFers!

With Bell getting hit with a 3 game suspension we might just be a little more interestEd in a RB

That is why I selected David Cobb in the 4th

    Mayock's top 5 cB's
    T. waynes
    J. Collins
    m. peters
    K. Johnson
    B.Jones now tied with Rowe

    Williams removed after the DUI

is that flags involved? or just skill, i think there is a solid claim to be made on peters being the number 2 there, and with a higher ceiling than waynes.

Collins, very little experience and got destroyed by cooper, but then again i guess thats a bit unfair to hold him back for. Great frame and physical tools though- not worried about the recent injury? seems to hurtt a lot of kids so close to D day

Williams was borderline the 5th best CB, I like Byron Jones and Eric Rowe better BEFORE the DUI now I have him as a third day pick. RED FLAGS EQUALS STOCK DOWN TALENT OR NOT.

beach take some blood thinners before you read this, don't want you to have a coronary Eli Harold to the Steeler, voted YES on path to the draft last night.

all these mocks are trash until SOMEONE STARTS PUTTING A PRIORIY ON OFFENSVE TACKLES. Sure there is a boom on WR last year, this class has the same potential. but where are the Cowboys without Zac Martin ???? Classs this missed. (yeah he plays OG, but a lot of these college OT's will be Guards)

Mocks aren't going to be fully representative. Many mock drafters love their shiny toys and well OT/OG isn't that.

2013 the OL dropped in the draft, #23 Lions took Reiff, #24 Steelers took DeCastro.

Usually we do get love for OG/OT in these mocks. This year just is an exception. It's QB and RB that usually get no love.

Polamalu's retirement doesn't affect our need at safety very much, since he was considered retired all offseason. We still don't have any actual holes at the position based strictly on number of bodies, and now the age factor isn't as big with Mike Mitchell suddenly the senior player at the position. If the Steelers don't pick a safety or wait until later to address the position, we can assume they're counting on/believe in Shamarko Thomas, even though he hasn't done a dam thing on defense in two years.

I remember talk two years ago concerning Thomas. They said he would have been a first-round pick if he was three inches taller. Well, now's the time for him to show us why.

Did I miss something? Did he put on 3 inches since we drafted him? I didn't think so... I'd be looking at safety in the draft... Not wild about M.Mitchell either.....

    enjoy,

They must have measured him before when he was soft.

    Troy P - 5'10" 213 lbs.
    Shamarko T - 5'9" 213 lbs.

I don't see the issue as far as height is concerned. We'll see if he can make plays, but he isn't too short to play the position.

BB I think you're going to like Mitchell this year. I'm calling him the best safety in the AFC North in 2015.

This is something that I had a discussion about midway through last season.

Asking Mitchell to come in and not only learn a new scheme but learn how to play with someone that freelances non-stop is a lot for one season. He had some head scratching moments but he also showed the right skill set to thrive in the 3-4.

I'm not going as far as stating he will be the best in the North, but I think he is a helluva a lot closer than what a lot of people do.

Gun to my head - I'm going George Iloka for 2015.
