Kelly's offense doesn't need top level WR talent, or so he says...wouldn't be at all surprised if the Eagles went defense round 1 and picked up one or more mid round WRs.

Colbert had a lot of luck getting a WR later in the draft
    so you could be right.

They also drafted Jason Mathews WR out of Vandy last year in the 2nd.. This draft is deep at WR... I think they wait also - unless a WR on their board is there when they pick. My guess they go D in round 1.

  4. At this point...I wouldn't bet on Chip Kelly to do anything conventional...like sit and wait. He LOVES him some Marcus Mariotta, but I think he has already sold all of his playmakers so hecan start over. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he sold his 2015 and 2016 first round picks to someone for the QB. That is...if he makes it past Tennessee.

Jameis Wnston looked flabby at his pro day, not all his throws were spot on. Bucs are taking him, but I just see more red flags, Mariotta is the safer QB and the best player in the draft is Leonard WIlliams.

Listening to Jalel Collins, does not seem or sound anything like Byron Jones does in an interview. I just hope they draft a standup kid who will work his azz off.

I can't believe how many throws Winston had...made my arm hurt just watching. I think he got humbled a bit by his first college defeat ( or complete thrashing). He's definitely going to be tough to bring down in the pocket like Ben.

Why are there some reports that Waynes is dropping, or are there just not that many teams looking corner early? I wonder if Peters might end up going before him.

  7. I don't think Waynes is dropping. He may be in the media, but the media has NO idea who teams are targeting. Truthfully, if guys didn't move up and down on people's boards at all, it would give ESPN and the NFL nothing to talk about from February until the end of April.

Waynes will be a top 10 pick and he is probably going to be a stud in the NFL.

Waynes is faster and covers better and is faster, He does not get out of the top 14. Tough call at 22, the more I read about Eddie Goldman, the more I like. To quote Mayock, he is a dancing bear, and would bring pressure up the middle. I have been lacodaisiacal in my big board, but I am going to drop Phillips quite a bit. I will move up Dorsette and Breland, you cannot coach 4.2. I just saw a mock with Dupree goning 7th, I think we he is long gone and hard to find. Finde me another 270 LB who runs 4.5, I double dog dare you.

Based on upside, I wonder if in round 3 The OLB from LSU is worth the shot, he has more upside than most anyone, Danielle Hunter. He is very raw, but if they think he is coachable, you consider him. My choice in Round 3 is Marcus Golden. And then you talk about upside , one year in the MAC and Quentin Rollins tore it up. I have to figure out where he is on my board, but he is going to be better than Eric Rowe in the NFL.

The team that needs a Safery the most, accorind to PDTD, is Eagles at 20. IF Landoin Collins is there I got for it. Watchig tape, he has better deep feild coverage for a bigger DB than you would think. He is also very polished, and takes good angles as NFL network told us. There is a reason there is only 1 first round safety, it's a weak class. However, some of these scouts will evaluate some of the CB's as a Safety. In essence, the draft sites listed a billion corners and a few safeties, not really accurrate on a lot of teams boartds.

Here is a mock I could live with.

    1. Kevin Johnson
    2. Quentin Rollins
    3. Markus Golden
    4. Trey Flowers
    5. Sean Hickey
    6. Kenny Bell
    6. Jesse James
    7. John Crockett

Saw a nice segment on PTTD (Path to The Draft) bassically let's list the guys you do not want to pass on, keeping it withing range. But Leonard Williams and players you know won't be available when they pick get less consideration due to the possibility of not available.

So who are the guys we DO NOT WANT TO PASS ON.

My guy is someone you would not expect. Phillip Dorsette. Why, he has it all, and will translate to the next level because of his sharp routes and the ability to get in and out of breaks. He mostly ran GO routes at Miami. But at his pro day, he confirmed his shiftiness and has a lot of shake and bake. Will he be there at 56, not sure, he is the 9th rated WR on Mayock's list.

    Honest question, Bytes . . .

Did your I-phone or tablet get the better of you and you meant to type "shiftiness"? *SCRATCH*

After watching some film to educate myself. I am 100% behind picking Kevin Johnson. I think he is an immediate starter in the defensive schemes the Steelers play. He may not be a "shut down" corner, but he is quick and reacts to the ball quicker than most dbs I've watched. He's not afraid to stick his nose in and tackle and plays off man extremely well, plus has good hands. He would have an immediate impact on improving the defense IMUO. (U=unprofessional) lol

A look back at the Steelers 2002 draft class by 247sports.

RD 1 Kendall Simmons - was a pretty good G tore ACL in 04 and battled Diabetes
    RD 2 Antwaan Randle El
RD 3 Chris Hope - sucks he left in FA
    RD 4 Larry Foote
    RD 5 Verron Hayes
RD 6 Lee Mays - Not to good in the nfl but is a Head Coach and GM indoor Football
RD 7 Brett Keisel - WOW!! talk about a draft sleeper and maybe the steal of the draft.

Pretty good draft to say the least.

This was an elite draft class. Even Mays contributed a tiny bit. One of, if not the, best draft yields by a single team in the 21st century.

    Sleeper ALERT:

Stoney Brook TE - Will Tye - a Florida State transfer had a nice showing as well as WR Adrain Coxson

Sheez - in the last 2 post.... Guy named Peters and a Guy name Coxson... Enter ManO stage right...

    enjoy,

Fat fingers, tiny keypad, old eyes Lyman. Shitiness only applies to ESPN , specifically Smell Diaper Jr.

Chris Hope was actually pretty good. He only started his last 2 years in Pittsburgh, but put up pretty decent numbers. He helped Troy become the GREAT SS in those 2 years.

Pretty sure he meant that it sucked he left in free agency, although that loss did cause them to bring in Ryan Clark who was a damn good FS for many years. but that 02 draft was pretty good, Simmons was a good guard opposite Faneca. The Steelers don't win the Super Bowl in 05 without Randell El. Hope has been discussed already. Hayes was a solid backup and 3rd down back when healthy, he had some injury issues if i remember correctly. Foote was unbelievable valuable as a 4th rounder, longtime starter and very underrated. Mays had some value as a kick returner and special teams gunner. The Beard in the 7th round? I agree with the poster who said he was the best in this draft class for the Steelers.
