Who cares you get them and thats all that matters without a comp pick the Steelers might be lacking one of their top players of all time.

  4. Why I care is A lot of our competition (Baltimore) gets 3 comp picks (all better than steelers) and they sign dumervil and it doesn't count because he was released. You really think a very late 7 rounder is going to be a top player or does balt have a better chance with a 4th and 2 5th rounders. Besides the 7th round top player you are talking about would have been a 8th
round pick or undrafted. Now detriot will get a 3rd for losing suh but lose nothing for trading for ngata.

Every team has the same players to chose from in free agency. Why should teams be rewarded because they don't want to keep their players.

Why should a team be punished because they cant sign their players?

Better yet . . . why should a team be rewarded because they choose not to. *SCRATCH*

That was the question that prompted my question Lyman stay with the discussion :p

  8. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

No . . . you said, "Why should a team be punished because they cant sign their players?"

I asked why should they get a pick if (a team) chooses not to sign one or more of their players.

Big difference. ( :p back at cha. )

  9. Everyone is dealing with the same cap, if you can't sign players because of the cap it's your own fault.

Taken from the post above my post. This is the question which lead to my question this question is the same as your question. *BYE*

I have a question. Did you question the question without question so your conclusion is without question?

Comp picks are in the league to help keep competitive balance.

    Demo,

Gurley is realt flying up Boards SD is a real possible landing spot. I will be in the minority but I'll take Marcus Peters over O-Ziggy. Shaq Thompson will fall out of day one, i can make a case for Jalen Strong over him. Oakland took kahlil Mack
Last year they need to give Carr targets. Washington & Atlanta need pass rushers moreso that Pittsburgh. Eli Garold goes before Alex Carter JMFO

Like I have said before. I am nowhere near as proficient as many of you here, but I see a scenario where the first wide receiver isn't taken until after the first 10 picks at a minimum. I may be wrong, but this wr draft isn't as talented as last years. Very deep in talent, but I believe last year was a very extraordinary year in top talent by wrs.

I believe the teams are going to wait as long as they can this year to tap into the talent at receiver. JMO by no means a professional one.

There are ways to manipulate the cap. Overall, yes, teams are dealing with the same cap. However, on a year to year basis teams have different 'adjusted caps'. (There is rollover)

So teams can get a 'bigger cap' for one year and force more contracts onto it but you'll end up paying for it in the years to come, or have 'paid' for it in the previous year via rollover.

If you sign players to responsible contracts, and don't cut players, have them live out their contract that team is rewarded with a pick based on that players next contract. Bad teams don't tend to do this, and cut players, those don't factor into comp picks. Good teams stay good, bad teams stay bad.
