DHB did a lot of special teams work last season would not be surprised if he is resigned

  3. beachbum Legend Manager Steelers

I thought that too Jean. But I read something from Dale Lolley (I think it was him) that said pretty emphatically DHB wouldn't be back? Not sure why.

I hope someday Bell reads this thread. I am the unofficial #1 Kiper Hater. Bell is right about film, scouts and coaches watch coaches film. Kiper watches ESPN film with ESPN commentary, F'N USELESS!

DHB, Blake, Garvin, & Ventrone were the best special teams players from what I saw

  7. Also, for everyone advocating for the Steelers to trade back (myself included), here is a stat for you: The Steelers haven't traded a 1st round pick away since 1960! Also, it is VERY unlikely the Steelers will be trading up either, as the cost for them is AT LEAST a 1st and a 3rd. I see them sitting pretty at 22 and taking BPA?like they always do.

  8. beachbum Legend Manager Steelers

I'm sure that's accurate above but they did trade back for Casey in 2001?

Who doesn't like Mayock better? The thing about NFL network guys they admit their errors. Bill Polian was right, Kiper is no more qualified than the Postman. Anyone who says Jimmy Clausen is the best QB in the draft cannot be taken seriously. Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning . Seriously what a butthole.

  10. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

    True they dropped 3
Spots so the Jets could draft Santana Moss. Another myth buster was Kendrell Bell as Ed Bull$chitt keeps chirping that rookie LB's don't start. If Dupree falls to 22 I can make a case for him starting at LOLB , yeah he's that good.

It seems like Jesse James has become a mock favorite. Quick Question for guys like beach who are more adept at cost/cap issues. There are 3 TE's out there that we liked in he draft, now hitting the maket

    Virgil Green
    Rob Housler
    Lance Kendricks

My guess is they resign Spaeth and or Palmer thoughts? Can they afford Jordan Cameron ?? if the market runs hot since the draft is very weak at TE some of these guys might cash in. I think the same applies to safety.

They have more cap room than they've had in probably 10 years. So essentially they could compete for anyone when you consider how low first year cap hits typically are (Ex. Dumervil was around 2.5M).

Cameron is going to have a tough time in free agency in my opinion. He's a concussion or two from retirement. He's going to regret turning down whatever he was offered last summer. I doubt the Steelers are interested simply from a health standpoint.

I agree with you, I believe they will resign Spaeth and I hope they do. He's a big part of our run game.

Thanks beach, I was not aware of the concussions, just the lofty numbers he put up in 2013 when the Browns were less dsyfunctional.

Mariotta is NOT getting past the Jets, or TO the Jets. If I am Oakland I hold a lot of cards. Why bites why? Because they need a WR and can afford to move back up to 10 spaces and still get a stud. You watch, pass rushers are going to FLY off the board, THEN WR. I think Tennessee could trade back but with who, maybe the Jets, but they will never see Leonard Williams, the best player in the draft. Jacksonville, well maybe they could move back, but the cost.... they need an Edge Rusher, so other than the Jets, maybe the Rams, nobody else makes sense. The team that CAN MOVE UP is simply Cleveland. They hold picks 12, 19, 43. Trade value chart for both 12, 19 comes out to inbetween the 3rd and 4th overall pick.

Let's just face the music my Cleveland Friends, Manziell is a d0uche, cut bait now. Mariotta is his polar opposite, high character, high intellegence. If they get Mariotta before the Jets, Rams, and Eagles stop drooling, they have a piece of the puzzle. At 43 there will be some talent at WR still on the board. Possiblly Devin Smith, Breshaud Breland, or Sammy Coates. Not a fan of Coates, bigger fan of Agholar and Rashad Greene.

Here is another crazy thought in my head. Why not draft Nick Marshall. Better QB than Landy Duck Chuckin' Jones, AND..... he can play CB.

Stock continues to slide on Shaq Thompson. He wants to play LB, some team will convince themselves he will be a safety, I don't think the Steelers draft players Thinking of using hypnotism instead of coaching.

Ed Bull$chit is convincing everyone they will not go DL in round one. Would Colbert pass on Danny Shelton? BPA, but..... how would he drop that far with teams in the teens who simply cannot stop the run. I expect 4 DT's to go in the first round, Odd man out is probably Eddie Goldman, and I consdier Leornard Williams a DT capable of playing in any scheme anywhere.

All of these CB's being mocked to Pittsburgh at 22, are any of them realistic? I say yes only because thier board will look nothing like ours or Depot's or anyone good at this outside their organization. Just because Chad Scott in 1997 was the last first round CB doesn't mean it cannot happen again. Waynes ain't making it to 22, fact. Peters is a PR time bomb. Collins has unlimited ceiling but lilmited experience, sort of leaves you with Kevin Johnson doesn't it? No way is it Johonson if Dupree is still there, which I think he won't be.

I read and watrched some interesting inside info on Clemson. Sure Vic Beasley is the toast of the town, but who freed him up to make plays? Grady Jarret that's who. And who cleaned up the tackles he could not make? Stephone Anthony is your answer. The problem with this info is that Pittsburgh and Jarret are really not a match and with Shazier, Timmons, Williams, Spence capable starters, and Zumwalt in the wings, ILB is sort of stacked already as I already mentioned.

A lot of mocks have us taking Langford in the 4th, look I get it. But is he BPA and would colbert have a runner dash up to the Podium in the 3rd for Jay Ajayi. Don't know, but I think I would prefer NOT to lock onto players.

Keep in mind what burghball keeps beating into our brains. PAY ATTENTION to which pro days Tomlin and Colbert go to, and track the player visits in April. That will give you at least 5 out of the 8 picks. I guranfuckingtee it.

  16. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

At least vinegar ends up where we would all like to be. :D

Wasn't happy when they drafted the idiot and was even less happy when his supporters kept pounding the table for him all last year. Never saw so many people disappear so fast when he finally got on the field.

Unfortunately, they won't cut him this year.

    (1) He's upside down by almost $5M on the cap. They've already come out and said their not planning on being that active in
free agency with around $52M in cap space. If their not willing to part with some of that money, they damn sure won't
throw $5M down the crapper. I look for them to sign one or two "semi-name" players and then front load their contracts to
get out from under cash spending floor penalty.

    (2) As shitty as he is . . . he does have a pulse. Current options are Josh McCown or Conner Shaw (who may opt to simply go
back to school). I would not be the least surprised to see Conner Shaw start the most games for the Browns this year.

You guys have no idea (zero, zilch, nada) how freaking lucky you are to have a QB fall into your laps and turn into what he has.

I'd love to see the Steelers take a flyer on Marshall in the 6th or 7th.

As for the first round, I'm hoping they can trade back if one of the high-end OLBs (or Collins or Waynes) isn't there.

  18. Steelroc74 Franchise Player Steelers

Lyman, yes we're pretty lucky about him being there at 11, but the FO of the Browns really keeps screwing the pooch on QB evaluations and they've done it for a long time now, we're talking back to Couch. You've guys have had several first round picks in these last few years but haven't really packaged those in a deal to get that elussive Franchise QB.

quick thought, if Cleveland doesn't take Brady Quinn, is he STILL in the green room? I don't mean 2007, I mean today.

    bwahahahahaha
