Don't hate you but hate your first round pick. Humphries is flying up draft boards for some reason. Put on the Missouri game.

With the potential for a run on the top WRs and OLB/DE's in the first round the projections of the Steelers going with an offensive or defensive lineman are very realistic. I'd love to see the Steelers get a player like Scherff. If the Steelers are serious about using a hybrid defense this year Malcom Brown could be a nice fit.

Best footwork in the draft at LT per NFL Network, more ready than Clemmings, more polished, and he added some bulk to squelsh that concern. He is moving up, but I think pass rusherss and WR are gong to dominate the first round. In recent drafts OL has really dominated, I think that trend to cntinue but not 9 in the first 32 picks, but breaking it down:

6 pass rushers, 6 WR is entirely possible, and 2 QB's. Probaly zero TE's and 1 Safety. 2 RB. 4 DT's sounds about right. That leaves you with 11 picks. Maybe 9 OL is possible after all. HoweverI think there are 4 guys with frist round grades. I would pass on Clemmings and Flowers. Scherff and Humphries seem like safer picks.

Path to the Draft. I want my hour back. Too much geared for the general fan of the draft, no mea and potatoes. Let's discuss Mariotta vs. Winston until our voices quit is the theme. Boring for me and anyone who really gets into this time of the year.

I think it gets better as pro days come into discussion. Need Mayock going mental a few times to be must see tv. Just no more Mike Mayfunk, that was must MUTE tv. It seems like they are counting down from 32, they did NE Tuesday, and Seattle last night. So maybe in two weeks they put pick 22 in thw War Room discussion. By then Worilds will probably be a Jet or an Eagle.

So, do we think Tra Waynes will be gone before we pick or is he not worth a 22nd pick ?

Breed - after posting a 4.3+ in the 40 and his field work - my opinion.. long gone before 22.... But if he is there - I'd be real fine with that pick.

I understand, but I wouldn't want another 1st round tackle unless he was just a mauler. We have enough good feet guys. Scherff wouldn't hurt my feelings but I don't think he will be there. I could probably live with Flowers, cause he's just an azz kicker. Not digging any of the other guys that may be there.

Guess we're just going to have to wait and see who falls to us.

  10. I don't see the Steelers going O-line in this draft until day 3. The offense is in a really good spot, with an additional TE, a 4th WR (FA), and a couple of backup running backs (FA and Day 3 of draft) being the only needs.

I understand people are looking at potentially going D-line in round 1, but that is REALLY not a need. Pass rushers and Secondary help are really the only positions the Steelefs should be looking at in round one, and there are plenty of guys to choose from. They need high motor defensive players, as the offensive side of the ball is historically better than ever.

Worilds is testing the Market. What's your flavor? Dupree or Harold?

I would say neither, but between the two I think Harold is a better fit.

Are you looking for more production guys with less of an athletic ceiling (Jarvis Jones) http://mockdraftable.com/player/4138/ or more of an athletic ceiling and wonder why he didn't get as much production (Worilds) http://mockdraftable.com/player/898/ .

Dupree is an athletic freak. 42 in vert, 11'6'' broad at 269lbs. (4.56 40 1.6 10 yd split) didn't do 20 or 3 cone waiting for pro day to show that. Talking Calvin Johnson type numbers. If Dupree and Jones were in the same draft and were both sitting at the Steelers pick, which would you take?

Bites, would you prefer Orchard to Harold? (Anyone else can answer this plz) In other words do you want a fully formed technical player with less of an athletic ceiling, Kihaha, Orchard etc. or do you want a bag of parts and constuct with Steelers coaching a football player one with more of the athletic pieces that could be one of the best in time. Dupree, Harold, amongst many others.

  20. I prefer the technically sound, ESPECIALLY at that position. Athleticism is really great, but in the NFL it takes secure technique to be successful. Athleticism is great, but it often leads to bad habits, as players were allowed to get away with less technical play because they could simply overpower or outrun the guy on the other side. Shazier learned that last year in his limited play, as he sat behind the more technically sound, but WAY less athletic guys and learned the position.

Truth be told, the Steelers will probably go with the more athletic guy, as I see them signing Moats to a cheap multi-year deal, maybe another guy (Mcphee?) and then bringing in whatever draft pick to play more of an Elephant position. I see Butler changing the defense to be a much more hybrid version of the 3-4, with OLB's rushing the QB much more frequently and utilizing the 4 D-lineman a lot more.
