Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

Nyb...you obviously have bigger things to worry about than this draft thread or evaluating players for it, but this thread was never about having any kind of real impact on anything. It was always about trying to better understand what the team goes through every year to scout and select players to be Pittsburgh Steelers. You and many others have done a pretty damned good job of that over the years and hopefully you enjoyed it because that was supposed to be the point.

 

It's funny, we also had the 15th overall pick the year prior. And we took an ILB both times.

So, with that in mind, is this what we're looking at?

I am going to go with Trae Waynes as 1st round pick. Could very well be Marcus Peters. I know we don't really need a WR but DGB would look really good in Black and Gold and good luck defending that set of WR.

Based on records and Strength of Schedule we should have the 22nd pick.

I go back and forth on this. He's a freak, no doubt. If his head is right he will be a stud in the NFL. He did get arrested numerous times in a short span and if the girl he pushed down a flight of stairs had pressed charges he would be in prison. Maybe he will grow up and be a super star, maybe he won't.

Will Thompson fall to us? I don't even know that he's a 3-4 OLB. I always looked at him as a 3-4 ILB, if anything, which would take him off Colbert's radar entirely (at least it should).

Me, I kinda like the idea of Alvin Dupree and Arik Armstead in the first and second rounds. More front seven help.

 

I am about where I am with Trae Waynes as last year with , Dennard,I don't want to overvalue the player based on WE NEED A SHUTDOWN CORNER TO FIX THIS MESS.

No to Marcus Peters, had to leave UCLA, then got thrown off the team in Washington.

Maybe yes to Alex Carter out of Stanford. At least with Stanford you are getting someone with a brain and the ability to learn. Plus playing in the PAC 12 has got to be viewed as a positive.

Second round seems more likely, really like the kid out of Wake, Kevin Johnson.

Absolutely respect Dick LeBeau, but has the game passed him by or is the talent level bottom of the barrel. It may be that uncomfortible time to promote Keith Butler.

Had to re-enter user name and password to get back in

 

No pages have been removed, we did however move the address from the MNC URL to the L4SN address.

 

Hopefully everyone has the commonsense to re-sign in and use there User names and password.

I was wondering where the pages went. This thread did have 394 pages a couple of days ago.

After a while CBS just deleted the whole thread and you had to start again. (After the page loss first)

 

There are no pages that have been deleted.

However, a user did go back and delete some of his own posts affecting the length of this thread.

I can guarantee you, we will not delete any material from this thread unless it is requested by it's author or by nybites.
