Watching the Alabama/Ohio St. game right now. Can we get Alabama's punter Scott. Kid can punt almost the length of the field. (Slight exaggeration, but the kid can boom it.)

I am looking at the roster, and really TE is a luxury pick, Heath has 2-3 more seasons in him, I would draft one next year. Aslso for those of you salivationg over Nick O'Leary, is he night and day a huge upgrade over Will Johnson? I would not use a 3rd rounder on him. A similar size player will be a UFA, Lance Kendricks, not sure what the price tag is on him but I will bet Hoodie will be looking to replace Aaron "Smoking Gun" Hernandez.

I'd keep an eye on the TE from minny - max Williams - had a real nice bowl game and a player to watch the couple of months..

    enjoy,

What I confirmed last night, Both Collins and Cooper are gone top 10. Bama may have lost, but those two are clearly the best WR and S in the draft.

I also like the kid out of Oregon, Arik Armstead, imagine him batting down balls or blocking FG's. That is a luxury pick though.

Really CB and OLB need to be addressed. As far as Harrison and Kiesel, yeah depth, but their repacements are are on the roster. but Ike's repllacement I just don't see. The deepest position on the defense is actually not DL, it's ILB.

re; Maxx Williams, truthfully I have not seen him play and he is only a Sophomore so yeah maybe next year in the 2016 draft. I have been working every day, I am on a 12 days in a row block and I only have X amount of time to watch the DVR.

  4. Just watched his highlights on draft breakdown. Really like this kid. Had a sick one handed catch against Michigan on the sideline and just seems to have great general awareness + body control. Minn split him out wide a bit, and from what I saw he's a pretty decent blocker. Would definitely give this offense a versatile component in the passing game and a red-zone threat. Most are saying he goes late first, early second. From what I saw he could go higher... He's also a younger guy (20), which Tomlin likes. Would definitely be on board with him late first if all the pass rushing options are off the board.. Could definitely see him being BPA

I don't know if he will declare I am leaning toward not. He is 20 however and it's not a very good or deep TE class

    walter football latest mock.

    1. Kevin Johnson, CB with Vic Beasley still available. Puzzling to say the least
    2. Owmagbe Odighizuwa, OLB, UCLA over Kikaha, maybe, doubtful though.
    3. Jordan Richards S, Stanford. Jay Ajayi still available.

    Draftek mock.

    1. Shane Ray. okay not sure he'll be there, still on board: Alex Carter, Melvin Gordon, Alvin Dupree.
    2. Rondald Darby. maybe, Hau'oli Kikaha still avialable.
    3. Clive Walford,, TE, Miami (FLA), really?? Cody Prewitt, S, Miss. is still available.
    4. David Cobb, RB, Minn. not sure, Doran Grant CB, OHio State still available.
    5. Leon Orr, DE. The guy I like is the OG from Louisville, John Miller, he is still available.

You talk about 'want to' in another post O'Leary has that tough drive Steeler mentality, will lower his shoulder like Heath does to fall forward after getting tackled, Kendricks is a pussy.

If jay Ajahi wasn't already a first round grade he is now, too bad or us, he seems like another bell, does everything really well, would be a perfect 1-2 punch w/o us losing that feature on offense.

Except Ajayi is looser carrying the football and doesn't block as well. I don't think you'll find anyone hear who wouldn't love to have him though.

Maxx Williams was the #1 offensive threat on his team. David Cobb is a solid college player, but nothing to write home about. The QBs at Minnesota are probably WRs or TEs in the NFL.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went in the top 20 picks. He is the #1 TE in this class by a longshot.

Kendricks is a proven commodity, draft picks except maybe Andrew Luck are crap shoots.

Caught a bit of the Washington and OK State game, NOT impressed with Danny Shelton,Washington was getting gashed up the middle, they moved the big fella off the line with regularity from what I saw. Also saw Turd McShart had Kikaha as the 10th best OLB in the draft. .... I guess Smell Diaper is rubbing off on him.

Btw best huskie in the field ladt night... Jaydon Mickens

How is he a proven commodity, what because he's considered a vetern, he hasn't done anything positive since being drafted.

The Steelers are locked into the 23rd overall pick. The last time this happened was the beginning of the worst draft in the Tomlin era, so here's hoping we can scrounge up some improvement on that.

The Cardinals pick 21st overall, the loser of the Bengals-Colts picks 22nd overall, and the loser of the Lions-Cowboys picks 24th overall.

I can't trust any site other than this one, specifically this board, right now. All sports news is off-limits until the scab covering the wound is healed to the point that tearing it off doesn't re-open it.

I'm dejected about the loss and am pretending my best that it never happened.

    The Steelers need defense.
The offense is good,it will have good and bad games but watching
Worilds and Jones play then compare them to Harrison and Suggs, these guys suck!!

Also, NT is a must. McClendon is ok but the Steelers need a Big NT to plug up
that middle and stop the bleeding.
This defense is so far away from the typical LeBeau team its unreal.
At first I thought LeBeau lost it but its the lousy players Tomlin and Colbert are providing.

With Gay being the only exception the entire secondary including Troy needs to be up graded.

Hard to argue with any of this. Definitely some serious upgrades that need to happen on defense.

I like the DL, though. McLendon and McCullers are more than enough at the Nose and Tuitt and Heywards are perfect DEs in this system.

ILB is set. They are loaded there in fact.

Jarvis Jones is the only OLB on the roster of consequence so this is a HUGE area of concern. They need an impact pass rusher opposite him. I think he's going to be a good football player, but unless they have a threat on the other side, he'll be neutralized.

The secondary is another big question mark. Can Cortez Allen recover from a terrible season? Who else do they have? I'm sure they will try to bring back Brice McCain and Antwon Blake, but they aren't full time solutions. This team needs a serious talent upgrade at CB this offseason.

Safety is interesting. I think Mike Mitchell is locked in, but is Shamarko Thomas really the heir apparent to Troy? Seems unlikely to me since he never got on the field when Troy was out. You have got the draft a Safety early in this draft in my opinion. Someone with some ball skills and who knows how to tackle preferrably.

From what I saw last night, we need a better back up tackle, the Adams expire ment is over. A second RB like bell would be great if Jay Ajahi is there in the 3rd, the steelers should pull the trigger. A TE would be nice but not as crucial as the other two.

The other defensive areas that were mentioned already definately need to be covered.

  19. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

I think it's cool to discuss the draft, but one of the reasons we lost last night, past the complacency and injury to Bell, was the drafting.

    Mosley > Shazier
    Gilmore > Archer

I have no problem with the Tuitt and Bryant picks, they were BPA in my eyes.

latest mock, well phuccit, does it really matter? When someone who sits in a La-Z-Boy can see S. Thomas, L. Jones, Archer were horrible selections. (re: when they were taken and who was available, compounded by the dumbest trade since Washington sold the farm for RG III and out, ) . Ask yourself a question, is putting in a hundred hours of your free time really worth it, if the REAL draft is a major letdown. Our work has zero impact on the actual draft. I'm sorry for the bucket of ice water over the head, but it's reality.
