Maybe Indiana's Tevin Coleman in the 3rd or Jeremy Langford from Bell's alma matter, but there is better value elsewhere.

I'm not sure where Jay Ajayi is rated but I've watched him a bit the past two seasons. The kids a complete back. Dual threat to run or receive. If he's there in the 3rd round he'd be a fantastic pick.

Watched Hundley from UCLA this weekend. I see that he's rated the 3rd QB and potentially not projected to go until the second round. Makes me laugh. The kid would have been a first rounder last season but stays in school and potentially drops.

I wasn't sold on Mariota last year. Staying in school was good for him. He's developed as a QB. He's going to be a darn good QB. The kids got athletic ability like Kapernick but more of a Wilson mental approach. I like him.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Raiders and Jags do if they are in the top 1-3 spots. They both took QBs last year.

The events of this weekend knocked the Steelers up to 19th overall in the draft order, one behind the Browns and one ahead of the Chargers. The Ravens and Bungles pick 25th and 26th respectively.

This will be a very challenging position for us, as 19th overall means none of our biggest needs would be BPA. I'll be back with an attempt at a mock later.

Wouldn't it be the same mock you used last time they were slotted at 19?

Prospects have gone up and down in stock since then. Andrus Peat is now BPA at 19, and that wasn't the case then.

I understand you guys and the Steelers are looking BPA, is it unlikely that there won't be a S, CB, OLB, DE, RB available to us that might fit a little more need than OL.

It looks like A lot of Mocks are projecting Golden as a 2nd rounder, I saw 1 in the first.

Who's to say Peat wouldn't fill a need? In fact, I have OT pegged as a bigger need than S, 2nd OLB, DE, and RB. Maybe it's not as pressing as 1st OLB, TE, or NT, but Kelvin Beachum can be upgraded. Peat in particular has the makings of a bonafide left tackle in the NFL with all the pass-protection capabilities we haven't had in a tackle in decades, if ever. He could stand to run-block better, but he's a big talent. I trust David Shaw, Stanford's head coach, over most other coaches when they talk about their players - Shaw says, "In my entire career, nine years in the NFL, the only offensive lineman that was a step above of where Andrus can be is Jonathan Ogden -- one of the best tackles to ever play." Shaw was an NFL position coach for the Eagles, Raiders, and Ravens in 1997-2005.

Of course, I err on the side of caution in every case, and by no means do I think Peat would be the best choice for the Steelers hands-down, but if he's BPA, and in this case he is, I wouldn't mind the Steelers looking long and hard at him.

EVERY POSITION ON THIS TEAM COULD BE UPGRADED. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Sorry to go all Ehawk on you, but there just isn't anyone on this team who is the best at his position in the NFL. If there were a better center than Pouncey, Pouncey could move to LG or LT. That would result in a better offense, more points, and more wins just like upgrading at OLB would do for the defense. Le'veon Bell and Big Ben might be the two hardest players to replace on this team, but you can still go BPA for depth at those positions. A wise man once said you can never have too much talent on your team.

So you're saying you want Brett Hundley?

  12. LoveTheSteelers Franchise Player Steelers

I haven't seen him play so I have no opinion. Generally speaking, I would not be opposed to taking a quality QB if he fell to the 2nd round.

Do they seem angry? I'm just trying to project a little moderation into things. Being an optimist doesn't mean you think everything is perfect. I recognize this team has a lot of needs and they are still fighting to become the best team in their own division. Once they accomplish that they can look to becoming the best team in the NFL.

I thought you were from Pittsburgh, your signature says you're a Baltimoron.

of the (3) 7-5 teams in the AFCN, the Steelers have had the easiest schedule. if the regular season was over, Pittsburgh would select 14th overall... which puts them in the category of mediocrity... again.

    *from NFL.com*
    14. Pittsburgh Steelers
    2014 record: 7-5 (.406)
Top three needs: S, DL, CB

    15. Cleveland Browns
    2014 record: 7-5 (.413)
Top three needs: WR, ILB, DL

    16. Buffalo Bills (pick owned by Cleveland Browns)
    2014 record: 7-5 (.481)
Top three needs: QB, LB, S

    17. Baltimore Ravens
    2014 record: 7-5 (.497)
Top three needs: Pass rusher, RB, OL

i find it interesting that NFL.com ignores Baltimore's urgent need of help in the secondary, but i am MORE interested in where does everyone think we should go in the 2015 draft, assuming the Steelers pick anywhere from #14 to #17. also of interest, Cleveland has Buffalo's first round pick as well.

  17. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Actually, the Ravens have the easiest with their opponents win pct. at 0.447. Next easiest is the Browns (0.542) and then the Steelers (0.556). The Bengals remaining opponents have a win pct. of 0.639.

He meant for the whole season not the last 4 weeks.

A tackle like Ogbuehi or Peat would be an underrated option by many. Dante Fowler Jr. is strong and would make a great LOLB.

an OLB and a shutdown CB is desperately needed. and why is the OL still a problem? not naming any names, but somebody isn't drafting right.
