Guess you can add DE to the mix for rounds 3-5 of next year's draft? Keisel might play the second year, but I doubt Cam Thomas returns.

DE has been fluctuating between mid-tier and bottom-tier need for 2015 anyway, considering a depth successor for Keisel is necessary. Josh Mauro could have been that guy, but maybe he wouldn't have been. Considering the PS is pointless when planning for the draft.

Very few guys look like a pure 3-4 DE in 2015, but we could get creative with prospects. I really like Christian Covington out of Rice, even though he's only 6'3".

I watched the game too and was impressed. He did finally fold at the end with a bad decision, but he looks pretty darn good.

Me too. But if he is really that good he won't be available at #32.

  5. A guy I go back and forth on as a fit for the Steelers is DE Markus Golden. He's an excellent run stuffer. In a 4-3 I see him as a Chris Long type (except I think he'll be better). In a 3-4 I think he could play well at DE but others are better at judging than I so I'll defer, especially since I'm biased. The kid has a motor though and works his butt off. He's a really quality guy as well, one of the nicest guys I know. He's also played most of this season with a hamstring strain.

Gurley just slid to day 3 JMFO.
    First back taken: Melvin Gordon

If Gurley is there we should nab him in rd4.

So you are talking about #8 or 9 because he is a freshman right now.

  9. 100%. He man is a freak. ACL's are bad but guys generally come back from them. He'd be the steal of the draft there.

Yeah but we said the same thing about Marcus Lattimore

But Lattimore had 2 injuries to the same knee. The last 1 being really bad.

  13. Lattimore's knees were far worse than Gurley's. As gidion pointed out there were multiple injuries. To throw out 2 Mizzou guys as examples, Henry Josey tore his ACL, MCL, meniscus, patellar tendon and broke his femur. He came back just as strong. Jeremy Maclin has now torn his ACL twice, seems to be playing well right now.

We'll see in February when the medical files open up. He goes in the 4th. Big Pick keeps throwing lolly pops we'll be frafting in the teens again :|

We pick [del]16th[/del] [del]15th[/del] 23rd overall after the [del]loss becomes official tonight[/del] win. [del]This gutless team had better not make the playoffs.[/del] I'm a fool.

EDIT: I forgot how dismal the NFC South is.

We might want a good backup RB. Even if Archer shows he can play, I wouldn't want him starting if Bell missed a week.

Kikaha won't make it to day 2, I've got a gut on this LB, he's a day 1 starter

Two new drafts, one based on BPA, one based on need.

    1. La'el Collins, OL, LSU
    2. Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington
    3. Ereck Flowers, OL, Miami FL
    4. Markus Golden, OLB, Missouri
    5. EJ Bibbs, TE, Iowa State
    6. Chris Carter, NT, Ohio State
    7. Damian Swann, CB, Georgia

UDFA. Malcolm Agnew, RB, Southern Illinois
UDFA. Olsen Pierre, DE, Miami FL

If the Steelers do this, I have them picking two offensive linemen with the body type and physicality to play guard. Both Collins and Flowers play left tackle at their respective colleges, but one of them will be groomed for left guard in Pittsburgh.

    1. Eddie Goldman, NT, Florida State
    2. Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington
    3. Ereck Flowers, OL, Miami FL
    4. Byron Jones, CB, Connecticut - RED FLAG: season-ending shoulder injury
    5. EJ Bibbs, TE, Iowa State
    6. Chris Carter, DE, Ohio State - long and thick enough to play anywhere on the line
    7. Eric Lefeld, OT, Cincinatti

UDFA. Malcolm Agnew, RB, Southern Illinois
    UDFA. Silverberry Mouhon, OLB, Cincinatti

I like his Shane Ray kid OLB from Missouri, he's got the motor to run down backs from the backside. He's also got good pass rush skills.

If he missed a week no big deal but if he were to miss 2-3 weeks then it would be a bad thing IMHO. If they do their homework they can grab a quality back up running back from the 3rd round back.
