You left off a prospect from ohio state, they always draft one player from that school. *SCRATCH*

  3. Pitt wants nothing 2 do w Hollin...just not a good player...hes getting passed up by true Frosh...now Derrick Mitchell(5 tech) or Niles Lawrence Stample(NT) I can see late rounds

I caught Ohio St. vs Maryland this weekend. Some guy named Bosa was making plays for the Ohio State defense while Michael Bennett was virtually invisible. If I'm Colbert, I'm watching Bosa until he comes out for the NFL (I think he's a true sophomore) and moving Bennett significantly down on the radar.

The Ohio State TE, Jeff Heuerman, was another guy I was watching, but he barely did anything too.

The Terps don't have anyone currently worthy of an NFL roster, possibly outside of CB Will Likely. He was in on plenty of tackles and battled Ohio State receivers for the ball all day.

Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State has been gaining stock, and if I thought the Steelers were in need of a QB, I'd be watching him much more closely. He has great physical skills, throwing mechanisms, and leadership qualities, but is easily rattled and rushed, which leads to him playing faster and tighter than necessary at times. He can make all the throws, but has a sub-60% completion percentage. He's intriguing, but shouldn't start for an NFL team as a rookie unless he can patch up his footwork and field vision.

Two fresh mocks (and 900th post) based on the Steelers' new draft position: #17 in the first and corresponding picks in the other rounds.

    1. Dante Fowler Jr., OLB, Florida
    2. Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami
    3. Christian Convington, DE, Rice
    4. Tyler Kroft, TE, Rutgers
    5. Corey Grant, RB, Auburn
    6. James Castleman, NT, Oklahoma State
    7. Za'Darius Smith, OLB, Kentucky

UDFA. Kyle Brindza, K, Notre Dame
UDFA. Isaiah Johnson, SS, Georgia Tech

    1. Devin Funchess, TE, Michigan - A WR/TE hybrid. If the Steelers draft him, they'll use him where they need him more. The closest thing to a star TE in this class.
    2. Ellis McCarthy, NT, UCLA - Looks like Cam Thomas, but at the collegiate level, he's better against the run. He's more position-flexible than a pure NT because of his 6'4" height.
    3. Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia - I'm against the buddy system that's so rampant in this team and would honestly prefer Washington's Kikaha here, but J. Jones's former teammate holds the edge really well and already knows the 3-4.
    4. Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon - Good scheme fit for Munchak.
    5. Travis Raciti, DE, San Jose State - Prototypical 5-tech size.
    6. Ibraheim Campbell, SS, Northwestern
    7. Kevin Parks, RB, Virginia

UDFA. Kyle Brindza, K, Notre Dame
UDFA. Maurice Falls, OLB, East Carolina

The top is pure BPA. The bottom is more need-based and interesting IMO.

I know I've been avoiding corner, but I would be more than satisfied with Florida State's PJ Williams.

  9. Hes a physical corner that may not mesh w Pitt's scheme...he really likes 2 get up ur in face and play physical at the LOS....Darby may b better suited for Pitt's off coverage technique

I know the Steelers have a couple of good starters and prospects at
Safety but Landon Collins ( Jr) from Alabama is playing at a high level
in college. Watch the Tide sometime and check this kid out.

Also Amari Cooper same team Awesome WR.

Wesley Johnson OG/OT/OC just got picked up by the Jets.... Another Bone head move by the front office.. How about waiving that lame-ass Landry Jones - He's like Teats on a bull - useless

    enjoy,

ughhh. Firehalo is right, Roger Goodell must go. He's obviously pulling the strings in Pittsburgh.

Well, we're 13th overall in the first round now. Frankly, I'm not happy with this team at all and want to see a roster overhaul where stagnation is an issue.

I added needs at OG and CB. The former because of the bust status of Wesley Johnson (thanks bb), and the latter because this is a really deep CB class, and Cortez Allen is on my last nerve. I subtracted the need at K which is a luxury this team can't afford.

    TE
    CB
    NT
    OLB
    OG
    OT
    DE
    SS
    RB
    OLB

I'd say this is the list of needs from most to least dire. It'll be rare and probably coincidental if my mocks follow this to a tee.

My first crack at a mock draft with this in mind:

    1. Marcus Peters, CB, Washington - Reminds me of Kyle Fuller, who's doing great to my surprise.
    2. Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington
    3. Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame
    4. Arie Kouandjio, OG, Alabama
    5. Travis Raciti, DE, San Jose State
    6. Chris Carter, NT, Ohio State
    7. Ibraheim Campbell, SS, Northwestern

    UDFA. Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma
    UDFA. Jordan Hicks, OLB, Texas
    UDFA. Michael Dyer, RB, Louisville

No, but I did throw in the annual Ohio State alum.

  16. Cortez Allen has 0 ball skills

    Demo,

I'm not calling Wesley Johnson a bust.. Just a 5th round pick they let go Before I think they fulling evaluated and try to develop. See Craig Urbik (3rd round) who is now a starting at OG for the Bills.. I just didn't understand the move of promoting Ventrone (real happy for the local product from CHartiers Valley High School) but the cost of that promotion.

So now our backup Olinemen are Wallace, Adams and Hubbard... Let's hope that we dont have one or 2 of our Olinemen go down -

    enjoy,

Verone's play on STs makes him worthy of promotion. It's the player they cut that was wrong. We could have moved on without Landry Jones, he wouldn't get picked up by anyone because no team in their right mind would waste a roster spot on him. Makes you think ha, are the Steelers's management in their right minds?

Steelers released Derek Moye WR from the PS and placed Shaq Richardson CB on IR... To make room for a couple of guys I never heard of... I was one that liked Moye - over J.Brown - I think he is a better WR - maybe not a better blocker - but a better WR... hmmm..

    enjoy,

    one of the idiots

Another disappointing move. I like Moye too, but JB is doing okay I guess.
