That was me and at the time Sherrod was considered a first round talent Lt Tackle which the Steelers are still in need of.
If your watching the game he hasn't played that bad up till that play which was horrible.
It wasn't so much the player as was the position of need.

Also didn't know how bad Hood was going to turn out. 2 DL in the first round within 3/4 years and Ben was getting his butt kicked every game.
Yeah I wanted to see an upgrade at LT and most of the whole OL.

Off topic but if Seattle continues to play all season like they are tonight
They're going to be an easy pick for a repeat.

Playing run the ball to set up the pass and playing great defense.
Kinda looks like what a Steelers team used to be.

Maybe from the 70s. Sorry, but no recent Steelers team (even the SB winning teams) has looked as good as this Seahawks team looks right now.

The 2008 defense was close, but they didn't have the balance on offense then that the Seahawks have now.

The Seahawks have done a hell of a job accumulating talent both through the draft and free agency. Gotta hand it to them.

Just meant the style and you're right.

    Excuses, excuses, excuses!

You don't give Tomlin or Colbert a pass for their "at the time" picks. Just go ahead and say you were wrong on that guy, it's much easier than trying to justify your position. We all know the draft is a crap shoot anyway, there's no shame in guessing wrong. I'm waiting to see how Darqueze Dennard plays so I can see if my 1st round target this season was a good one. Shazier wasn't even on my radar screen, most surprising pick since Landry Jones...

Saying that was me isn't owning up to it ?

    LOL, "it was me, but..."

Just busting your chops breed, we all have our opinion on how things should go and we are all wrong from time to time. Especially me.

Some good college games to keep an eye on this weekend:

Oregon vs Mich State - both teams are loaded with talent - draftable players

    USC vs Stanford

ND vs Michigan (need to see the TE from UM - Funchess I think his name is)

    enjoy,

I looked at Funchess and he has a slight build,, he's closer to Kelvin Benjamin than he is Heath Miller. Oregon vs. Michigan State, yeah yeah Mariotta blah blah blah, but the guy to watch as Steeler fans is the DE/OLB Calhoun.

Yep - Calhoun is the one to watch for me...

Got to catch a CLemson game to - Vic Beasley...

    enjoy,

    one of the idiots

  11. I agree. Those are all good games. The other one I want to see is Ohio State vs. Va Tech. I like Tech's D, especially the CB Fuller.

Amari Cooper is having a good start to the season, 10 - 130 and today 12 for over 100 yards so far.

Didn't fuller get drafted by the bears this past draft?

Kyle Fuller was drafted, he has a younger brother: http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/fuller_kendall.html

    That's what you call pedigree

Not impressed with Calhoun, Injury aside, he's a tweener.

Ifo Ekre-Olumu on the other hand, impressed me.

Homer draftable player from UConn, Jeremy Davis WR, he's the real deal, worth taking a flyer on.

how about shoring up the rest of the defense and/or drafting Ben's REAL future replacement? ... since we have Laundry Jones written in our future at the moment.

Big Ben is only 32, I would say you wait at least 2-3 drafts before we visit this conversation. The more pressing need is CB. Hindsight is 20-20 but I am sure Keenan Lewis would have made this defense better last year and this year. Compare his play vs. Cortez Allen and the cost, and then figure in that Colbert inked Allen so that they did not make the same mistake twice.

With that said, don't knock me for trying this out, year after year... but the pick could be PJ Williams out of Florida State. Will he even be ythere when they pick, not sure, but in day two, and you know how they love Ohio State kids, Doran Grant.

watched UConn Saturday, other than the WR, they have a CB who is draftable, Byron JOnes. I likie him because he tackles well and has some size,, 6-1 196. Ekpre-Olumu his stock is doing to fall in February, because when the gets to the combine, his size will drop him on some boards.

  20. PJ has been nursing a nagging hamstring injury since camp...he has battled through it, but it has hampered his explosiveness...he didnt play vs Citadel and were hoping hes ready 2 go in 2 weeks vs Clemson....Darby is the other DB and teams avoid him at all costs so PJ gets more game action
