Great little nugget from Bob Labriola in an article about some of the new talent on the team:

Just goes to show that our initial reaction can often be wrong, as mine probably was in the cases of Ryan Shazier and Dri Archer this year.

I've often wondered how good Allens career could have been had the Steelers traded him sooner. Sandwiched in with the other guys he looks like a miss but the only miss on homw as going to a team that didnt really need him. Once he was traded to the Lion he started 58 of 60 games and collected 24 interceptions.

He could have been good on the Steelers, but we had a pro bowler on one side and a HOFer on the other.

I humbly apologize for my lack of participation on this forum. I know that judging by the views many fans like this thread. My personal battles and family issues are limiting my free time to partictipate. this is by no way a cry for pity. Everyone knows someone who lost someone they care about or is battling some shitty disease.

Just think about this coming from someone who is quick to judge everyone and everything he sees. Life is too short to hate and to criticize others without knowing thier story. Smiling is free, praying is free.

I happen to have never met Mel Kiper Jr. However I have yet to find one redeeming quality or anything worthwhile he has predicted about the NFL draft. He is not the Pioneer of draft evaluating, just made it more visible through a Money Grubbing Network that employees more personalitites than it does informative spokespersons.

Peace be with all my Steeler Friends and Family. I have a new article coming out soon, the theme or title will be Running Glass. It breaks down the fact that first round picks on RB are too risky. My buddy of many recent years burghball has been preaching this since we crossed paths in 2007.When I figure out the logistics of my page on the Draft Analysis portion of this website, I wiill post a link. Again no boo hoos for me to this point I'm my life I've been more blessed than most.

Ny - Looking forward to reading your article. Should be a good one, as always!

I got to start looking at this years college kids soon - a while back I posted a safety from Northern Ill to keep an eye on. I like watching these MAC kids - over look by the 5 major conferences for the most part.

You're in our thoughts and prayers.

    Enjoy,

Hence why I said if another team had drafted him.

Understood, it is just amazing how many positions on our defense had pro bowlers on one side and HOFers on the other.

No doubt about it as a defensive player to some degree you had to hate it if your name was called out on draft day by the Steelers because exactly where were you going to break into the starting line-up?

And they say it is hard to break into Lebuae's starting defense. You could have won a Heisman Trophy as the best player in college and you came to the Steelers and would sit for half your career.

But you got to talk about the Browns Glory Days.

This is not true about rookies starting for the Steelers. Bell started last year. J. Jones started last year. Shazeir will start this year. The rookies with talent can start for the Steelers, especially if someone retires and theres no replacement. Then the Steelers have no choice but to start them.....That would be with any team. The reason no rookies started over the last 10 years or so is because the Steelers had veterans and could afford to let the rookies sit. Those days over at the moment......

    BB,

That turf made me dizzy,, I was out staining the deck, basically summer is over,, already in the 50's at night. Watching INdy and New Orleans, and I feel sick. Keenan Lewis and Darius Butler are playing solid CB in the NFL, class this missed.
