I watched NC STATE play 3 times plus the bowl game, he was under the radar until Mayock watched more tape. ;)

    ATTENTION DRAFTNIKS....

As I am taking part in Beach's Manny-less Draft Challenge, I have a question for all of you: is there a player (or two, or three) for whom you would be willing to move up in the first round, or in the second round, with the following information:

    1. The Steelers would have received pick 91 from NE if they had not matched Emmanuel Sanders' offer sheet.
    2. To move up to #10 (TEN) would cost the Steelers 17 and both 3rd round picks this year (79, 91)
    3. To move up to #11 (SD)would cost the Steelers 17, 79, 115, and 150
    4. To move up to #12 (MIA) would cost the Steelers 17, 79 and 115
    5. To move up to #13 (NYJ) would cost the Steelers 17 and 79
    6. To move up to #14 (CAR) would cost the Steelers 17 and 91
    7. To move up to #15 (NO) would cost the Steelers 17, 115, and 150

    8. To move up to #40 (TEN) would cost 48, 115, and 150
    9. To move up to #41 (BUF) would cost 48 and 115
    10. To move up to #42 (MIA) would cost 48 and 115
    11. To move up to #43 (TB) would cost 48, 150, and 186
    12. To move up to #44 (CAR) would cost 48, 150, and 186
    13. To move up to #45 (SD) would cost 48 and 150
    14. To move up to #46 (STL) would cost 48 and 186

So which player(s) would you be willing to move up for, and how far would you be willing to move? All the numbers listed above use the draft pick value chart so they are realistic numbers - whether the target team would be willing to make the deal or not. Is there anyone in the draft worth giving up picks for?

    LTS,

I would move up in 3,4 that is where I have talent up the ass to pick from. Nobody in round one would I sacrifice 2 third rounders, that would leave you with no pick between 48 - 115 that's way to big a hole! I would move up for Wilcox, Wolff, Bailey. I keep 91 and give up
    186. Then my gap is only 150 to 206. In later rounds its more likely to miss than hit anyhow.

    Demetrius Harris TE Wisconsin-Milwakee...

Another kid who may be a nice Undrafted free agent - he is one of those ex-basketball kids.. 6'7" 234.. room to grow - great hands.....

may not make any team - but hey - worth a shot - I love these ex-basketball kids as future TE's....

    enjoy,

    bb

Definitely no one in the 1st, and I would trade up for Bostic in the 3rd if we didn't get our ILB by the 3rd.

    Steelers Depot 4.0 mock

Hate it hate it hate it

    1. Jon Cooper
    2. Justin Hunter
    3. Corey Lemonier
    4. Christine Michael
    5. Shamarko Thomas
    6. Kruger
    6. Will Davis
    7. Michael Mauti

Hunter won't be there! Thomas, 3-4 safeties I like better , Mauti is a medical nightmare, Kruger is over-rated, I'll take Collins all day long with Wilcox or Wolff over Lemonier and Thomas. No ILB, I like Bostic and Vince Williams. The way I read Colbert's presser, they are not taking TE or DT. With Mundy and Will Allen gone, safety will be addressed. The last safety bust came from Syracuse, Anthony "Guarantee" Smith.

NYB, I equate it to Christmas day also, you can't wait to open your new presents, you're excited while it's happening, but after it's done there's a sense of anti-climax. Then it's 3 months to the start of training camp. That's when we in Baltimore pray that the Orioles stay relevant long enough to get us to training camp.

And how about those 34,000 views on this thread already? Dang.

  17. I have seen so much smoke-and-mirrors recently about what way the Steelers may go in round 1. I HOPE they look at Defense (ILB/OLB/S), but my gut tells me they are strongly considering a TE or a WR (sorry guys...can't see them taking a guard two years in a row). I understand the need to look a TE and WR, as they are needs that need addressing, but there are MUCH bigger question marks on defense. If they look at OLB, that shows they are not comfortable with Woirlds. ILB/Safety means they are looking for future contributors with a year to sit. TE/WR means they want someone next year to be ready, with the opportunity to play quite a bit this year.

I think it comes down to who is there and what hole they want to fill first. Obviously, the draft process holds its share of variables, as teams look to move up and down to grab "their guys." However, I think they can stick to one of those positions and grab the guy they want the most.

Everyone in their brother is putting Jarvis Jones at 17, depends on the Medical. Mel Kiper sucks at evaluating talent, he's even worse in his mocks. Like so many arrogant douches he locks onto a group of players and insists how good they are. Eiffert is a solid pick, a safe pick, but they are moving DJ Johnson back to TE, they brought back Spaeth, COlbert did not do this without anticipating the draft and in fact in his pre-draft presser, he stated the TE class is weak. Ergo, they may not even draft one. Add into the fact Dennis Paulson showed some promise, Tyler Eiffert? .. not a snowballs chance in hell. Vaccaro will not make it to 17, Patterson might be there, they may pass, he is starting to slide and Hopkins may pass him. Dee Milliner, may slide out of the top 5-10, new medical coming out and he has a lot of injuries coming to light. Mayock may like Hayden better, but that almost dying event would scare the crap out of me, cleared medically or not. The hottest prospect rising in the draft, DJ Fluker, who I took at 19 for the Giants. Rumors are flying he may end up at 10, or 11.

I love the draft and as I said in another post the positions I think they need to target are Safety, Corner, Wr, Rb, MLB all other positions can be addressed for depth but i feel the bulk of our draft will be those positions. I have faith in our OLBS and with all the other needs the steelers have I would be disappointed if they drafted one early. Tightend is the only position im so so on that I didnt talk about. I feel as if David P will be a nice fill in guy but at the same time I dont see him being the future. There isnt to many impact tightends in this draft so if they get one it will have to be an early pick. Tightend would be nice but not a need and would we really want to use a pick on a luxury?
