Take the negatives out and Demo still wins if you include the undrafted guys. Demo nailed Annen as a UDFA, other guys had him in the 4th round and he isn't rewarded when he actually does go undrafted? Makes no sense.

Fine everyone who entered gets a trophy, let the contestants pick the winner. What makes no sense is negative scoring in a points contest. There were no prizes involved. I am certainly not favoring anyone or arguing to better my own score, so the "he's not arguing for himself theory" really has no magical powers.

I am ready to move forward this draft contest debate is non-productive.

Johnny Football was off my board, watching NFL News he's all over it. And it's not in a good way, looks like a personal celebration tour that is all about Johnny the Celebrity. The kid is an assclown and I will stand by my analysis. His natural talent in the NCAA was fun to watch for many. What will even be more entertaining for me is seeing this little snot get creamed by bigger, faster, and tougher players.

JFC guys. Calm your tatas. You guys are turning something that was supposed to be fun into douchebaggery over negative points. Really??? It was supposed to be a fun contest. Calm down. Move on.

Is there any info on the rookie camp or programs players did this offseason? The draft is over. LET'S TALK FOOTBALL!!!

I'm completely calm. Bites and I are adults. We can disagree and then go back to being fellow fans. We didn't ask for nor do we need your involvement.

Nope . . . they do not. But they certainly DO adjust his individual yardage stats accordingly. He may end up winning the game (contest), but the manner in which he did it is, in fact, adjusted using negative numbers.

    For what it's worth . . .

Here are the results with no negative numbers and UDFA's assigned a draft value of 257.

    1. Demolisher43 56.6
    2. Beachbum 56.4
    3. Manosteel9423 50.7
    4. Burghball 49.1
    5. LoveTheSteelers 48.4
    6. ajmtanas 46.9
    7. nybites 42.0
    8. mexsteeler 41.9
    9. LOAJoe 41.3

You forgot to add the +10 points to my score for AARP.... so I believe I then come out as the winner....

I'm pretty sure that NYB meant for there to be a bonus of, say...6 points...for any contestant who picked one of the draft spots dead on. That would make my final score 56.7! *SHADES*

I propose that next year, we start with 0 points and add one point for each draft position we miss by... so guessing a guy goes at 35 and he gets picked at 28 means I am assigned 7 points. Tally it all up, lowest score wins. UDFA is assigned a pick number of Mr. Irrelevent +1 - which I think is a good idea as it does account for the knowledge required to fairly judge a late-round pick.

Have one Tiebreak question such as:

    1. Which pick will the first Kicker or Punter be taken?

That should be enough to break any ties, though I find it unlikely we would have any ties at all.

OR, we all score it whichever way we want so we can all get the little gold trophy!

I am fine with these results, but the QB rating argument has nothing to do with the FINAL SCORE OF THE CONTEST.

I think TE will be in play in 2015.

My BOLD prediction, the Steelers will select: Jeff Heuerman out of Ohio State in round 3. IF they wait a round or so, and some Juniors come out, then look for Jay Rome or Jesse James. The all-world TE out of Michigan, Funches, is too slender for my liking and the #1 Senior will be Nick O'Leary, but I think he is undersized as well.

I am NOT taking CB next year, I keep missing, and over-valuing the rankings past the top tier. With that said if we draft PJ Williams, it means we had another crappy year and were under .500. A kid I want to watch, seems to fit the mold of what they look for is Marcus Peters out of Washington.

2015 Mock Draft, it's never too early *SHADES*

    1. Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland
    2. Joshue Mataias OG, FLorida State
    3. Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State
    4. Byron Jones, CB, UConn
    5. Henry Anderson, DE, Stanford
    6. Shaquille Riddick, OLB, WVU
    7. Jordan James, RB, UCLA

Did you guys see or hear about this:

    Mizzou's Dorial Green-Beckham arrested

Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested in an incident that police say is tied to illegal drugs. The sophomore standout was later released.

    Green-Beckham
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released Monday, but police said Green-Beckham, who caught a team-high 59 passes with 883 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, was arrested early Saturday on "suspicion of drug activity."

This is the second time Green-Beckham, who proved to be the Tigers' most talented receiver in 2013, has been arrested on drug-related chargers. In 2012, Green-Beckham was charged with marijuana possession after he and two teammates were reportedly smoking marijuana in a campus parking lot near Memorial Stadium. All three later pleaded guilty to second-degree trespassing in the case.

A jail spokesman told the Missouri student newspaper, The Maneater, that Green-Beckham's release "probably means he wasn?t involved with what they thought he was involved in."

Clearly, with no official comments coming out until after the weekend, there is a lot we still don't know, including how involved Green-Beckham truly is with this whole mess. With this being his second drug-related arrest, you have to wonder if its time that he reevaluate the situations he puts himself in. He's the unquestioned future of this program and has the talent to be a true star as the guy at receiver for the Tigers this fall.

But he has to stay out of trouble and stay in the good graces with his teammates and coaches. With seniors L'Damian Washington and Marcus Lucas graduating, everyone will turn to Green-Beckham to be the man. Players will start to look up to him and coaches will expect him to take more of a leadership role moving forward, especially with youngster Maty Mauk taking over at quarterback.

Green-Beckham showed a lot of maturity after his first arrest, which really pleased the Mizzou coaching staff. But if he was involved in this, some trust is going to be lost with him. He'll have to work his way back yet again and prove that he can be the leader and player people in Columbia expect him to be.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He later was kicked off the team, and might not play at all this season and enter the draft in 2015.

Would he be eligible for the supplamental draft and would you guys take a chance on him if you were in the Steelers FO?

    Nice NY,

and now that there is a report out there re Wheaton's finger..... WTF is with some of these guys? Youth? G-sus - guy making his living with his hands and doesn't take doctor's advise... so.. Your first round pick may end up being on the target - if not the player - the position depending on who is available...

    enjoy,

    NO.

  17. Wow?episode 3 of the Steelers "Countdown to the Draft" is out. One of the most surprising (well?not THAT surprising) philosophies that goes into "making the board" is that 80% is how they play football. As Colbert said "7-10% is the workout, 7-10% is character, 7-10% is medical, but the rest of it has to do with how they play the game." Even when it comes to if a guy had a really good workout, if they don't jump out on tape, they aren't a draft prospect for the Steelers.

Lebeau even went further and said that one of his mentors said "never grade someone down because of all-star games, workouts, etc. Talk to his home environment and the people that coach him and see what they say." It makes sense, ESPECIALLY with regard to games like the Senior Bowl and the East-West game, as those are often fish-out-of-water scenarios with people coming from different schemes and scenarios.

It seems like, while MANY other teams try to get cute with their picks and how they select them, the Steelers stick with guys they think can make an impact the old fashioned way. We'll see how it works out over the next couple of years.

The Steelers have signed Johnson (5th round pick), OT, that they say will probably start at OG and Zumwalt. That makes 4 out of the 9 picks signed so far before June 1st which is coming upon us. It's reported that Worilds and the Steelers are not having any movement on their long term negotiations and that Worilds will most likely play out the year under his current situation and become a FA. Which shouldn't hurt much compared to all of the Linebackers the Steelers have.....

Has anyone read about Shazier either getting thrown to the ground or throwing
someone to the ground causing Pouncey to refer to rule 10 about fighting ?
I didnt get what the whole thing said.

Also, is SS still on the team ? ( Nevermind )

  20. LoveTheSteelers Franchise Player Steelers

From what I read, it sounds like Pouncey got to Shaz at the second level, and Shaz threw Pouncey down as he was shedding the block. It may have gotten a little heated at that point, but they were just playing football without pads. That's my interpretation of what happened based on a couple of articles that mentioned it.
