He was a Vanderbilt OT who is projected to center, at least that's what I've read. Has some versatility. What I saw on tape was an OL with very little strength, which explains the zone-blocking commitment someone else just commented on. I saw no power, but has some versatility along the line. I suppose that's a plus.

 

A light OT from Vanderbilt. Completely a zone-blocker.

We needed OL depth. Interesting, but good pick.

There were better players, and the Steelers have good depth on OL butr not so much at CB. THe only thing I can say is that MIke Munchak sees some clay and had some input.

 

Well Mano it's not Cox but will you settle for a Johnson? *ROFL*

Anyone know anything about this guy? I know he's started at all 3 positions on the line. Was he worth the round 5 pick? Not sure about that.

 

Nice guard prospect for Baltimore.

 

You can get OL talent like Johnson as an UDFA, heck they plucked Fernando Velasco up off the scrap pile. The pick I wanted was 157

 

After the Bengals took McCarron the picks have really taken a boring turn. It seems like the 6th round started at the Chargers' pick.

Probably not, but I think a lot of us are asking questions about our teams picks at this juncture. It's not just PIT reaching is what I'm getting at. Lots of teams on that train right now.

 

Guys, it's cool. Johnson needs to bulk up and get stronger, but he's a talented player. Very mobile, versatile, and smart.

 

That Johnson kid started 51 games in the SEC so he must have some value.....versatile OL never hurt

 

Keith Reaser? The Niners have entirely too many picks....the league needs to do something, LOL
