Gerry Dulac of the PPG is still saying the Steelers are going to take Evans if he drops to them, but that he/they don't think he will.......

Yardbarker brought this name up as one of top defensive tackles and I've never heard of him They are saying he is one of the best. He's a 2 year player and started every game and was double-teamed most of the time, yet still disrupted plays. I'll go down the list and see if he's on it? His name is Tenny Palepoi?

  13. igloofn68 Guest

I don't see him on the list. They are saying the Steelers might try and get him in a mid round selection. He played at Utah. He was a 2nd team All PAC 10 and a 1st team All PAC 10 by another national ratings.

I spent yesterday thinking about the current running draft. Although I would be quite happy with current draft, I would rather have gone Fuller in the 1st round. Then take Smallwood in the 3rd.
I think Fuller will be a good CB in the NFL, the fact that he is a physical player who has only had minor injuries is a huge plus. In the 3rd, I like Cockrell, but feel there is a better chance of Smallwood having a long NFL career. His 9 pass deflections stand out to me. There is a chance he is taken before the Steelers pick on May 8, pro teams know he is faster than 5.01.

  15. Baramay Guest

At 6015 298lbs Palepoi is a bit undersized for NT. He does not possess the length for a 3-4 end. He has short arms at 30 1/2. His broad jump of 111" was very impressive.
I think he is a 1-tech for a 4-3 team. His short arms will make it hard for him to keep linemen off of him. His is also likely to be pushed around more in the NFL against stronger double teams. I don't see him as a fit for the Steelers and a 6-FA pick for a 4-3 team.

  16. igloofn68 Guest

CBS has Donald, out of Pitt, as the fastest riser right now. They have him up to #7 in the 1st round.
Palepoi can gain some weight, 10-20 lbs and get stronger in the weight room. Remember he only played 2 years in the PAC 10. If short arms is the only thing thats wrong with him, I see him as a great mid rounder. I see nothing wrong with him as a mid round pick, imo.....Latimor, WR, 215 at 6'2" is also rising and is projected in the 2nd round now. He also played basketball so he must have good hands and is quick. He could be a good pick in the 2nd round if Evans is not there. he's also that BIG WR the Steelers need. I know the Steelers are interested in him and is probably on their war board....

    97: Ross Cockrell
    Was my pick BTW

  18. LoveTheSteelers Franchise Player Steelers

Probably a good depth pick for CB. I don't like him in the 3rd round but I know you didn't have a lot to choose from with that pick. I guess it's consolation that he was only a few picks away from the 4th round. Too bad Phillip Gaines went just a few picks earlier, he would have been a fantastic 3rd round pick.
