Fat fingers, little keys on an iPhone , and auto correct. I think that covers it. *WRITE*

How likely is it that the Steelers will not have a player available at 15 that they think is worth the pick? Maybe a better question would be this:

What players do you see as qualifying for a pick at #15? And, if those players are not available at 15, how far do you think the Steelers could drop back and still get one of the players in the next tier? I am falling into the trap of looking at a narrow field of players, and if those guys aren't on the board at 15 I would like to move back and pick up a 3rd rounder. Am I being foolish to think that way?

My reasoning is that the top tier of players is only about 15 deep, but the second tier is 30 deep or more. Thoughts?

When you throw in QBs and allow for. 1 or 2 stupid reaches the Steelers will have at least 2 players there well worthy of pick #15.

I thought I would list my personal wish-list for #15, using the draft prospect list from See, BS. They are listed in my order of preference:

    1. Khalil Mack - this guy may offer the greatest single improvement to the team from the first day of training camp
    2. Anthony Barr - slightly behind Mack, and he will need a couple of years to grow into the role. Can't have too many OLB and you want the most dominating guys possible
    3. Darqueze Dennard - could be a great complement to Cortez Allen, and he's a playmaker
    4. CJ Mosley - Don't like his injury history but there is no denying his talent, and this is a position of need for quality depth.
    5. Justin Gilbert - Not as polished as Dennard IMO, but certainly talented at a position of need
    6. Sammy Watkins - Don't want to go offense in round 1, but this guy is electric and dangerous to defenses
    7. Aaron Donald - Not sure of the details on his technique but he's freakish athletically and would let McLendon move to DE
    8. Greg Robinson - If everyone else is gone I'd go OT. Why not shore up the position for 5 years with a guy like this?
    9. Mike Evans - Still not sure about Evans, but there is no denying his talent.
    10. Jake Matthews - Like Robinson, if he somehow fell to 15 he is worth the pick
    11. Eric Ebron - I think he's a head case, but for now I know he is athletically worthy of a pick at 15
    12. Kony Ealy - borderline pick for me. DE is a need but I don't know if I want him at 15
    13. Taylor Lewan - See Robinson & Matthews

Many of these guys are off the board at 15, but if one did happen to fall I would want to be prepared.

Throw in Pryer & 2 QBs and 1 of those 13 fall to us. There could be 3 or 4 of these guys available when we pick if QB needy teams jump on them and say they run heavy on OT that could drop a few of them . Teams reach a lot for OTs in the first rd.

Love the motor on Aaron Donald, but he would be out of position in a 3-4, there is no spot for him. JMFO. I think it comes down to WR, CB, LB. Ando on this list if you are going to throw in some borderlines, Rasheed Haggeman is in the mix.

I really don't get all the Khalil Mack hysterics. Someone on NFL.com called him the best defensive player to come out in 10 years...

I'd like to see him against real competition before I go all in on the guy - not that we have a shot at him anyway. Looks like a pretty good football player to me but so did Aaron Curry and he played against much better competition. I guess only time will tell.

Beach I understand your pessimism(sp), but the competition he played against was out of his control, he played a hell of a game against Ohio State this year.

Actually Mack had a MONSTER GAME vs the Suckeyes. I
Said it months ago : Mack's the best defensive player in this draft. Again Demarcus Ware came from Troy, Jerry rice was a Mississippi Valley State Delta Devil , I'm just sayin'

Well we'll have to agree to disagree. Nice prospect but I think he's a bit over-hyped at this point. Guys playing the Joker position are supposed to make plays. The OSU right tackle is god awful.

Not sure about that, I read one column that said Dennard can take care of his side of the field. I think Gilbert will have to be eased in compared to Dennard. But Gilbert can return kicks as a rookie. I understand Bites thinks Gilbert fits Lebeau's system better, but Dennard is more physical and a better tackler, which screws up the opponents routes. So I'm talking old time Steelers physical football. And Dennard has that over Gilbert....All that said, I'd take either one if available when the Steelers draft. The perfect scenario would be getting Gilbert or Dennard and Watkins or Evans in rounds 1 and 2. But I doubt that will happen. Hopefully, a DE will be available in round 2 also. Because that will probably be the case.

I think there is no DE worth pick 47, at that value point, maybe Stephen Tuitt, nobody else comes to mind. The value pick at 47 will be Davante Adams, if he lasts. I am telling you know, there will be a run on OG in the second round, bank on it.

Any thoughts to why Tomlin personally attended Notre Dames Pro Day. Martin, Nix, thoughts? Keep in mind they are thin on the DL, and that D without Big Snack just wasn't up to snuff. I really don't see Martin, the weak link on the OL is Ramon Foster, ,and he isn't terrible.

I am getting Luke Warm on Ebron, don't see them going there.

Dennard, Gilbert, Mosley, Evans, Nix. At leaast two of those guys will be on the board. Bridgewater sucking pond scum at his pro day is not a good thing. I wanted him to look like a World Beater. :(

Still think Bridgewater goes before pick 15, just don't think there will be anyone trading up for him...there's enough tape on him to warrant a top 10 pick I believe...

Possibly their TE. ND does has a habit of producing quality NFL TEs.

    Could Be Tuitt also.

Tuitt. & Niklas they both make sense I agree

So a random thought to ponder. What happens if Bridgewater is still available at 15 and Evans, Gilbert, and Dennard are all off the board. Should the Steelers pull the trigger and try and land their next franchise QB or do they take BPA non QB?

IF Bridgewater is still there at #15 - I'd try like hell to trade back with a team that wants to move up for a QB... That would be the best option if Teddy is still on the board - my opinion.

    enjoy,

    one of the idiots
