see my mock, 18. Howard Jones impressed me, I think he's worth drafting third day. Also liked Desir from Septeber, nothin has changed. Did go stock up on Aikens, loved his hands and toe tapping ability,, he will get more picks than drops. I think Dozier will be the better pro at OG, his name sounds like BULLDOZER. :-* Also Ravens fans will be salivating over Unibrow II, Flacco's brother, a TE from UNH, near Yale, a few delusional scouts watched him work out. I have a McQuire grade on him. (brother of Mark McQuire never amounted to sh.it)

  2. Steelroc74 Franchise Player Steelers

You guys must really like Reggie Jordan since you mentioned him twice in the same paragraph! :p

  3. Well, here is my first attempt. Let me know what you guys think
    1. Houston Texans-Blake Bortles, QB UCF
Owner Bob McNair really seems to like Jadaveon Clowney, however I think the Texans and head coach Bill O'Brein opt to take their new franchise quarterback. Bortles fits what O'Brein looks for in a quarterback and it will be interesting to see how Bortles develops under O'Brein. A franchise quarterback may be all the Texans need to bounce back as a playoff contender.

    2. Atlanta Falcons-Jadaveon Clowney, DE South Carolina
Trade alert! The Falcons address their biggest need with perhaps the best pass rusher in a decade. The Falcons are no strangers to moving up in the draft (Julio Jones) and what better time than now for them to do so.

    3. Jacksonville Jaguars-Teddy Bridgewater, QB Louisville
I'm not sure Jacksonville can justify not picking up a franchise quarterback any longer and Bridgewater fits the bill. He could step in immediately and re-energize a franchise that needs a spark in the worst way. I could see them going with Khalil Mack to help a dismal pass rush, however they simply cannot put off getting a quarterback any longer.
    4. Cleveland Browns-Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson
If Michael Lombardi was still in charge I would Johnny Manziel would be a slam dunk here, however with a second 1st rounder they may wait to address the quarterback position later in the first or in the quarterback heavy 2015 draft. Sammy Watkins is not only the best player available here and would give the Browns a dangerous duo between him and Josh Gordon, but the Browns have very little behind Gordon.
    5. Oakland Raiders-Greg Robinson, OT Auburn
Another quarterback needy team that opts to wait until 2015 to draft their man. Teddy Bridgewater does make sense here, however the whole gaffe with Roger Saffold may have tipped the Raider's hand. Greg Robinson would fill the need at left tackle and could be their blindside protector for the next decade.
    6. St. Louis-Jake Matthews, OT Texas A&M
The Rams will need a new blindside protector with Jake Long's return to 2014 in question after an ACL injury and Sam Bradford's extensive injury history. Jake Matthews, who was once the consensus #1 tackle, is good value here for the Rams and could anchor their offensive line for years to come.

    7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Khalil Mack, OLB/DE Buffalo
Quarterback could make sense here, however after recently signing Josh McCown and with Mike Glennon showing some signs of promise last year it is likely they opt to go elsewhere. Head coach Lovie Smith is a defensive-first guy and the Buccaneers could use another pass rusher off the edge. Mack would be a steal here after a huge combine and could be a contributor from day one.
    8. Minnesota Vikings-Derek Carr, QB Fresno State
The Vikings and their fans would be thrilled to see Bridgewater to be available when they pick, though that does not seem likely. Derek Carr is a bit of a curve ball pick here with Manziel still on the board, but the Vikings have shown a ton of interest in the Fresno State product. Their quarterback carousel between Matt Cassel, Josh Freeman and Christian Ponder last season was disastrous and the team has not had any long-term stability here since Daunte Culpepper. Cassel did re-sign with the team, however he is better suited to be a backup.
    9. Buffalo Bills-Taylor Lewan, OT Michigan
Mike Evans is a possibility here, however with the deep wide receiver class it would make sense if the Bills decided to wait on a receiver. Given Doug Marrone's background as an offensive lineman and line coach coupled with the need to protect EJ Manuel's blindside this could be a fit for Lewan. Eric Pears struggled last year and Manuel struggled to stay healthy last year, so it would make sense for Buffalo to protect their investment at quarterback with Lewan.
    10. Detroit Lions-Justin Gilbert, CB Oklahoma State
A big question before free agency started would be whether or not the Lions would go wide receiver or corner with their 1st round pick. However after locking up former Seahawks receiver Golden Tate, Detroit opts to fill their hole at corner back. Gilbert is considered by many to be the #1 corner in the draft and would give the Lions immediate help at the position.

    11. Tennessee Titans-Darqueze Dennard, CB Michigan State
Tennessee just lost Alterraun Verner to the Buccaneers and now could use someone to fill his shoes. Dennard is not far behind Justin Gilbert skill wise and would be a good fit in Tennessee. CJ Mosley is a possibility, however with the signing of Wesley Woodyard they may look at secondary instead.
    12. New York Giants-Eric Ebron, TE North Carolina
Given the Giants and their history with pass rushers, Anthony Barr would make sense here. However, the Giants could use a good security blanket for Eli Manning if they do not want him to repeat his disaster of a season last year. Ebron is on the rise and has been linked to the Giants.

    13. St. Louis Rams-Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, FS Alabama
Mike Evans would make sense here, however Jeff Fisher is never shy about adding defensive play makers and the team could use some in the secondary. Free safety is one of the Ram's biggest needs and Clinton-Dix just happens to be the top guy at his position and fits around this area of the draft.

    14. Chicago Bears-Aaron Donald, DT Pitt
The Bears could go a number of ways on defense. Chicago may riot if Chris Conte starts another game at safety, however Aaron Donald is too good to pass up in this instance. Donald's stock skyrocketed after a great combine performance and would be a day one starter for the Bears.
    15. Pittsburgh Steelers-CJ Mosley, ILB Alabama
Gone now is Larry Foote, leaving no clear cut starter at ILB. Vince Williams was so-so as a rookie, however he likely will always be limited to a two down linebacker and backup. Mosley would fit right in with the Steelers' 3-4 defense teamed next to Lawrence Timmons. Eric Ebron is a possibility, as is Mike Evans. However I think the Steelers are not ready to begin grooming Heath Miller's replacement yet and would pass on Evans to take a receiver later on.
    16. Dallas Cowboys-Mike Evans, WR Texas A&M
The logical pick is Timmy Jernigan, as he would be a perfect plug and play defensive tackle for Dallas. However, this is Jerry Jones running the show and time and time again he has proven he will go with the guy that will give his team more publicity. Evans is a playmaker who could stretch the field and help take pressure of Dez Bryant, exactly the type of player Jerry covets. Evans is also a local product, which Jerry is not shy of drafting.
    17. Baltimore Ravens-Calvin Pryor, FS Louisville
The Ravens have a need for a free safety and Pryor teamed with Matt Elam would give the Ravens a formidable safety tandem for years to come. Calvin Pryor is a physical safety that the Ravens would love and is also a rangy safety that covers a ton of ground, which could bring back memories of the Ed Reed days.

    18. New York Jets-Marqise Lee, WR USC
Another easy pick to project. Even with the signing of Eric Decker the Jets still need to give weapons to Geno Smith in order for him to succeed. The team also seems to be interested in him after having a private workout with Lee after his pro day. Geno Smith was anywhere between promising and awful last year thanks in no small part to a bad supporting cast. With Lee and Decker in the fold, it should become more clear whether or not his struggles was due to his receivers or his own ability.

    19. Miami Dolphins-Zack Martin, OT/OG Notre Dame
After the whole Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin fiasco last season, the Dolphins will be searching for some new lineman to help keep Ryan Tannehill upright. They added Brandon Albert to replace Jonathan Martin and Zack Martin is skilled enough to be a stud guard. He is also a high character player, which the Dolphins could find attractive after the aforementioned bullying scandal.
    20. Arizona Cardinals-Anthony Barr, OLB/DE UCLA
The Cardinals do not have a ton of needs to address in the draft, however Anthony Barr would give them someone to take pressure off of Sam Acho and potentially be John Abraham's replacement depending on where the team views him. An already stout defense getting another quality pass rusher would help the Cardinals in the highly competitive NFC West.
    21. Green Bay Packers-Ra'Shade Hageman, DT/DE Minnesota
Timmy Jernigan may be a higher rated player, however Hageman fits the Packers' 3-4 defense better. Even with the team retaining BJ Raji, they could still use an insurance piece at nose tackle. Not to mention, Raji only signed a one year contract.
    22. Philadelphia Eagles-Kyle Fuller, CB Virginia Tech
Fuller has been on the rise since the end of a very good 2013 season and just happens to fit the Eagles' biggest need. Even with signing Malcolm Jenkins their secondary still needs work. Cary Williams and Brandon Botykins are not bad starters, however the team has no depth behind them, which is a must have in today's pass happy NFL.
    23. Kansas City Chiefs-Kelvin Benjamin, WR Florida State
Free agency has not been kind to the Chiefs and this pick could go a number of different ways for them. However, Kelvin Benjamin is the type of player that could help take their offense to the next level. He is a tall receiver that allows them to stretch the field, which they did not have a lot of success with in 2013. Dexter McCluster also happened to leave for Tennessee, so they could use another receiver.
    24. Cincinnati Bengals-Dee Ford, DE Auburn
A corner like Jason Verrett is an option here, however after just having lost Michael Johnson to the Buccaneers the team could look to find his replacement. Ford is a fast rising prospect after a strong Senior Bowl and pro day that has a knack for rushing the passer. Him teamed with Carlos Dunlap could give the Bengals two forceful pass rushers off the end.
    25. San Diego-Louis Nix III, NT Notre Dame
The Chargers need defensive lineman at all positions, however after ranking 29th in rush defense in 2013 a nose tackle that can clog the middle may be the biggest area of need. Nix is a big and athletic nose tackle that will force double teams. Kony Ealy is a consideration, however with the team giving Dwight Freeney a paycut it seems like they are going to go with him as a starter in 2014.
    26. Cleveland Browns-Xavier Su?a-Filo, OG UCLA
The Browns are in dire need of a franchise quarterback, but reports are they are interested in Jake Delhomme 2.0 Matt Schaub to compete with Brian Hoyer, and the fact that Schaub would be re-united with Kyle Shannahan could give some fuel to that fire. Su'a-Filo is a prospect on the rise and could become a day 1 starter on the Browns' line, who could use a starter at guard anyway.
    27. New Orleans Saints-Kony Ealy, DE/OLB Missouri
Ealy provides great value to the Saints at 27 as they continue to re-tool their defense. The defense showed a noticable improvement in 2013 but could still use another pass rusher and Ealy offers just that. Victor Butler is a question mark after a torn ACL and having another quality pass rusher in the pass happy NFC South could never hurt.
    28. Carolina Panthers-Odell Beckham, WR LSU
The Panthers lost their their top three wide receivers in 2013 to other teams and have yet to re-load at the position in free agency. With such a deep draft class at receiver this could be a position that is double-dipped at. Beckham is a rising prospect that could immediately help out Cam Newton, especially as a speed receiver out of the slot.
    29. Oakland Raiders-Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M
Trade! In typical Belichick fashion, the Patriots once again could wheel and deal picks and at 29 he could very well get calls from teams wanting Manziel. Enter the Oakland Raiders, who is the only team left with a huge need at quarterback not named the Browns. It is possible that Manziel could slide to the Raiders' second round pick, as no one between the 29 and 36 need a quarterback. However, the Raiders trade up just in case someone else also wants to trade up. The Raiders need a quarterback and they need one badly. Manziel could help re-energize a team and organization that has fallen into a complete black hole (pun intended). Adding Robinson and Manziel in the 1st round is a good first step towards bringing the team back to competitiveness.
    30. San Francisco 49ers-Jason Verrett, CB TCU
Carlos Rogers was just cut by the 49ers, but corner may have been a big need even if he was not. Tarrell Brown and Chris Cook are not bad players, however they could still stand to add more bodies to the position. Verrett may be undersized, however he is a physical player that plays bigger than his measurables and would fit right in with a physical 49er defense.
    31. Denver Broncos-Marcus Robinson, CB Florida
Even with the addition of Aqib Talib, the Broncos still need have a need at corner. Gone is Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Champ Bailey while Quentin Jammer, who was already declining, will be 35 in July. Robinson would give the Broncos a fresh young body in the secondary that could end up being a quality starter across from Talib.
    32. Seattle Seahawks-Brandin Cooks, WR Oregon State
Seattle does not have a lot of needs, but wide receiver is a position that can use an upgrade. Golden Tate left to Detroit, Sidney Rice was released and Percy Harvin's health is unreliable. Cooks is a great value pick for the Seahawks here and would give Russell Wilson a speedy playmaker.

  4. steelersking M.V.P. Steelers

I really don't think the Steelers would pass on Mike Evans if he is there at 15, especially if Cotchery signs elsewhere. Honestly I hope you are wrong about Tennessee picking up Dennard, that's the guy I want the Steelers to pick.

  5. If he signs elsewhere I'd change it, but I think he comes back.

  6. burghball Guest

I would not change it.. Not wild about taking a WR with #15 - draft is deep at WR - no need to get one in the 1st... Mosley would be a much better pick than either Evans, K.Benny or M.Lee at #15. The only WR I'd take at 15 is if somehow Watkins slipped that far - but he aint getting out of the top 10.

    enjoy,

  7. manosteel9423 Franchise Player Steelers

If we have the choice between Evans and Mosley and one of the top two CBs, I would be disappointed if they didn't go defense...and this is from a guy who has been clamoring for a tall WR since Burress left!

My reasoning is that I don't think there is that big a drop off from Evans to the guys who will be available in round 2. I think that Mosley and Gilbert and even Dennard are game changers that you won't be able to replace with similar talent later on.

  8. burghball Guest

Right on point Manook... Like I said - good depth at WR in this draft...

    I agree completely.

  10. LoveTheSteelers Franchise Player Steelers

They might be scratching their heads, but chances are that if they identify 15 "special players" in this draft they will only have 2-3 to choose from when the time comes.

I bet their pick comes in 2 minutes or less, because that is what happens when you are prepared for the draft. They have a list of guys, and if the top guy remaining on their list is available then that is most likely the pick.

  11. LoveTheSteelers Franchise Player Steelers

  12. Yeah I think you guys are right. Give me Mosley the first, Matthews second

    SB,

I'd be real happy with that too..

    Where do I sign up?

Although, I would settle for Moncrief or Davante Adams too.

  15. beachbum Legend Manager Steelers

I think Davante Adams could end up leap-frogging some of these so-called 1st round locks. I think he could be one of the top 4 WRs taken when it's all said and done.

  16. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

My vote is for Justin Gilbert @ 15. Moncrief will gain some mo end of April, his name will have mockers buzzing

  17. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

Another guy who will go way earlier than the buttwipes at ESPN Predict: Joel Botionio, I got him going around pick 41.

  18. Kyle Fuller has been gaining some steam. I've had him pegged for awhile, would anyone be opposed to moving down for him?

  19. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

    K
not opposed to it, but you have to find a trade partner first. Looking at Charliee Campbell's mock on Walter Football, I really think he either hates the Steelers or has really not put any tie into learning how they draft.. Kyle Fuller in the 20's,, I would say too early and too deep a draft to take him first round unless he is one of those players Pittsburgh wants more than some other teams based o their evaluation

Why would you take Kelvin Benjamin, arguably the 4-5th best WR in the draft when the best TE best OG, second best CB are still available? Dennard is sitting there, and you take a WR middle first,, when there are 3-4 WR we identified that would be first rounders in other years? Sorry Charlie, only the best tasting tuna gets to be a Steeler. (apologies to those under 40, you probably won't get that one)

Colbert will identify what he and Tomlin call special players ,last year Shamarko Thomas was 17th on their board. We all sit here as armchair draft gurus, and the reality is all these websites and the time we put in,, will almost never mirror what they are thinking. There are a few things that I do know following the Steelers for over 40 years.

They will draft the BPA, other than QB, at pick 15, and down the line. Names we are throwing around make sense to us, but maybe not to them. However when you are in the top 20 of most Big Boards, you probably getf as close as your going to get. It's later on when you call out Vince Williams, or Frank Summers,, that sort of makes or breaks us.

Steeler Depot is locked onto the LB from Colarado State, Shaquil Barrett, maybe they are onto something, but Joey Porter just joined the staff, Pittsburgh's scouts have been analyzing these kids since before last years draft. Having Mark Gorcek at the starting line at the combine really helps us. He can see who takes to instruction and who has that first move that maybe a half dozen players in this draft have. It's not just a game of inches, it's a game of hundreths of second.

Of all the drills, to me the 3 cone drill is one of the best. Change of direction, quick feet, balance. How many guys other than KR or PR and ST guys really need to run 40 yards on every single play? The other thing that the combine does is to allow their medical staff to poke, prod,, and exaine the living sh-- out of these guys. Right now I have Cyrus Kundjio in the 3rd round. If healthy ,which he's not, last year I saw him as a top 15 pick. But he is much slower than I thought, and it probably is the lingering effects of his medical issue(s).

With all my tangents, and rantings, the answer to your question is NO. I would not move back for Fuller. PIttsburgh's board is already set,, barring some brand new info. Where they might tweak it a bit is later rounds, bottome of the board. I am telling you right now, I would draft that kid out of Shepard, Howard Jones over the Barret kid that Porter coached. Would I bring him in undrafted,, you betcha.
