This is a report before last year when he played well for the Panthers.

Thanks guys... I dont pay too much attention to other NFL teams - Not into fantasy football - so I loose track.. I honestly do not rememeber Mitchell from the 2009 draft.

So now that the Steelers addressed the safety position, my needs list is down to CB, DE, ILB, OLB. WR is a luxury pick IMO.

And we only have one RB on the roster right now... I'm sure they will resign one or more of the free agents.. Dwyer, LHS, etc.. but a later round RB may be in the cards...

They will have options at those positions during this draft. I think they have their eyes on Dennard in the first.

I don't really think they have their eyes on anyone in particular. This draft is so wide open and we have so many needs. I would suspect the Steelers are keeping their options open to see who falls. Picking as high as they are, they will definitely be able to get one of a group of guys to fill one of their needs. So, basically, I think they will be looking at a group, rather than a player-- my dream pick is still Mosley at ILB, but I don't think he falls to us. An OLB like Barr could fall. But it's more likely that we will have a choice of CB (probably Dennard since I think Gilbert will be gone) or a tall receiver (I like Ebron here-- TEs are receivers too; I think Evans is a character red-flag-- the last couple first-round WRs we took were talented head-cases and Evans is in the same mold). I don't know if Nix is still in the mix; people seem to have cooled on him, and I'm not sure if the DLs available at this spot are really good 5-techniques.

I guess for my own picks, I would say Mosley in my dream scenario, but probably a choice between Dennard and Ebron if both are still there. But if someone else drops unexpectedly, I think they would be open to several people. Without Arians around to leak inside info, I'm just not getting any kind of feel for whom they are targeting.

The list @ 15 is shortening JMFO

Gilbert , Evans, Mosley, Ebron, Barr

Would they pull the trigger on Martin? Me thinks not, you can resign Velasco for cheap. $ as your swing OL -man . Marqus Lee is too early, no DT that fits the 3/4 is of value mid 1st. Unless John Mitvhell pounds the table for Haggeman, I don't see a DL 1st rounder other than. "2 down Nix"

You're JUST figuring this out now?

    *SCRATCH* *WALL*

    The short answer is:

    Stephen Tuitt
    DaQuan Jones
    Will Clarke
    Justin Ellis
    Ryan Carrethers
    Brent Urban
    Shamar Stephenson
    Zack Kerr
    Ed Stinson

And that's off the top of my head.

I've been telling you guys about this for a long time. Don't act like I haven't.

    Here's a couple day 3 - UDF players I like:

    Deandre Coleman DT Cal
Caraun Reid DT Princeton - real good athlete - raw - a project
Jay Bromley DT SYracuse - looked good at the shrine game

Thanks, bb. In my haste I forgot about those guys. I see Reid as a smaller NT in our system. Don't think he can play end all that well.

I also forgot about Taylor Hart. Hard working, productive player who currently has a foot injury. Will go later than he should.

I don't like either of the Stanford ends, Josh Mauro or Ben Gardner. Both are too small.

NYB, I still think Dennard is heavily in the mix at 15 don't count him out. The Steelers were at his pro day, and they also have inside intell on what kind of person he is, because Bell is on our team. Don't think they haven't asked Bell about Dennard.

I'l testify that Demo has been pounding the table for DL since the end of the season, I and maybe some of us thought the Steelers would at least sign Woods and make it not as much of a concern. But alas that is not the case.

I don't think Mauro should be eliminated from the conversation, He adds to 10-15 and he's a perfect proto 5 tech in our system, same with Martin from UNC. They talked with Martin at the combine.

I'd even shorten the list to D.Dennard and J.Gilbert... Ebron - there is just something I'm not wild about.. Evans too.. besides - we can wait on a WR - very deep class.. Mosley is slipping some.. With 2 young OLB - I dont think we look there and DL? not sure the value is there at #15.. trade back - yeah... re M.Lee - not wild about him either - is it me or does he spend too much time on the ground? seems a bit of a "flopper" playing out of control.. from the little I have seen of him...

so my money is on one of the CB's if we stay at #15.. Ike has one year left.. can coach up the CB....

    we'll see

I too think we can wait on offense in general, seeing our only pressing needs are WR or TE, and it's a deep WR class while we have a lot of bodies at TE still under contract. Colbert said this is the most "immature" class he's seen while also saying it's the "deepest," and WR is deeper than the Marianas Trench this year while also being a position prone to big egos and diva attitudes, which I think Evans and Ebron are both liable to become. Dennard, on the other hand, seems like one of the most mature first-round prospects in this draft. The only question is one of availability. I can almost guarantee one team ahead of us will pick a corner, but there's a chance that team falls in love with Gilbert's athleticism, leaving Dennard to us. Gilbert can be a headache in the locker room kind of like Revis, which turns me off to him more than otherwise would be the case.

My ideal draft right now would be Dennard in the first and team-first Moncrief in the second (who will not be on the board anymore by the time we pick again), then a pair of DEs and maybe a NT later. *WRITE*

  15. Pitt needs to take Kelv Benjamin w their 1st round pick....I was screaming for them to take Keenan Allen w their 3rd pick last yr....his production was way to good w some sorry QBs at Cal....I may b a homer w the FSU pick, but he will b the best WR in this draft when its all said and done.

  16. The fact that they don't need an immediate starter or even first backup at WR and TE is another reason to wait. I have faith Wheaton will work and Cotchery will be back, in which case they'd really only need a depth guy there.

Evans is also a pouter, watched EJ Gaines shut him down and Evans was on the sideline throwing fits. Starting to not like that pick.

  17. With Munchack at the helm and some talented but inconsistent starters at tackle and a good swingman and a solid interior line I'm hoping they bypass the line all together again.

  18. burghball Guest

Yep unless its real late or UDF that they think they can groom... they also have EmberNasty whom I think has potential...

Re WR - this draft class is very deep and I hope we do not take a 1st round WR in this draft. K.Benny included. my opinion.

I will say, Zack Martin could be the best Notre Dame player to enter the NFL in a long time. He's like a Logan Mankins clone.

James Harrison released by the Bengals.
